Without a thought, Xia Wan’an stopped her text ssage and spoke to the taxi driver: "Stop the car."

She apologized to the driver as she paid him after the taxi ca to a standstill, "I’m really sorry, driver."

Once out of the vehicle, Xia Wan’an made her way to the person leaning against the tree by the road.

The man seed to have relieved himself enough and was unsteadily straightening up, ready to go back to the bar. However, only after a couple of steps, he lost his balance and started to fall.

Luckily, Xia Wan’an was quick to react. She rushed to his side and caught him. "Han Zhijin, have you lost your mind? Drinking this much!"

Half a mont late, Han Zhijin turned to face Xia Wan’an, "Who are you?"

Hearing this, Xia Wan’an wanted to give her naïve hoboy a public beating: "Who am I, you ask?"

"I don’t give a damn who you are..." Han Zhijin responded in a jumbled drunken slur.

Fed up, Xia Wan’an smacked Han Zhijin on the forehead.

Having been hit, Han Zhijin rubbed the back of his head, squinted at Xia Wan’an for a mont and then his body went slack suddenly, "Auntie..."

Xia Wan’an, too frustrated to humour Han Zhijin, dragged him to the roadside, hailed another taxi, and shoved him inside.

Just as Xia Wan’an climbed into the car, she heard Han Zhijin’s voice: "Auntie, don’t tell my mom, or my great-grandma, or my uncle... especially my uncle, he’ll make stand in the corner as punishnt..."

After giving the taxi driver the address for Han Zhijin and Song Youman’s apartnt complex, Xia Wan’an glared at Han Zhijin again: "You know you’ll be punished, yet you still go and do this to yourself!"

The scolded Han Zhijin didn’t say a word, he collapsed limply onto the car seat. After the car had been moving for a while, he suddenly spoke, "Auntie, I feel so miserable..."

He buried his face in his clothes as he finished speaking, and then his muffled voice ca out again, "All you won are huge liars!"

Suppressing her urge to punch him yet again, Xia Wan’an said, "What do you an by ’you won’? Don’t generalize! You wouldn’t exist without us, would you?! Tell honestly, which woman lied to you?!"

Han Zhijin fell silent. Xia Wan’an called out to him, but when he did not respond, she leaned closer to take a look. The fool had passed out.

Seeing the pregnant Song Youman might have triggered so thoughts in Xia Wan’an. She beca lost in the sad thought that she and Han Jingnian had a very slim chance of having a baby. She hailed a taxi that was parked by the road as she left the complex. Without noticing that the license plate was obscured, she got in.

She reported her destination and then stared blankly outside the window.

It was only when the car turned into a dark alley and stopped that Xia Wan’an realized she’d gotten into an unregistered taxi.

She instinctively reached to call for help and report a cri, but the taxi driver was quick to react. He got off, opened the back door, and snatched away her phone...
