Just as Xie Lin was about to apply dicine on Zhang Te’s wounds, he heard these six words. He was so startled that the bottle of dicine in his hand fell directly onto the carpet and rolled a few rounds, ending up by Xia Wan’an’s feet.
Zhang Te, who was wrapped as mummified as could be with only his eyes visible, instinctively tried to sit up when he heard Han Jingnian’s concise apology. This action pulled at his injuries and made him cry out in pain.
Xia Wan’an, too, was taken aback by Han Jingnian. It wasn’t until the dicine bottle that Xie Lin accidentally dropped rolled to her feet and lightly tapped her toes that she ca back to her senses. She blinked at Han Jingnian, chuckled, and asked, "Are you talking to ?"
Han Jingnian seed to be calmly sitting on the couch, but his body was noticeably tense. He swallowed a bit before responding to Xia Wan’an with a "hmm".
Seeing him appearing as his usual self, Xia Wan’an, however, caught a glimpse of tension and unease in his refined eyes.
It was indeed strange that Han Jingnian, who had always been calm during a crisis, found himself in such a state... Moreover, he instantly apologized as soon as he saw her. Could it be that he was doing sothing unforgivable behind her back?
Xia Wan’an stared at Han Jingnian for a little while, then bent down to pick up the dicine bottle at her feet and walked over to him, "Can you tell first... why... why you’re apologizing to ?"
Han Jingnian didn’t say a word.
Xie Lin and Zhang Te both appeared oblivious to Han Jingnian and Xia Wan’an, but in reality, their attention was entirely on the pair.
Han Jingnian’s lips moved several tis, but no sound ca out.
Watching his hesitations, Xia Wan’an’s curiosity grew. She guessed the reason for his apology while rubbing the mysteriously sore neck, "It’s strange, my neck hurts so badly..."
Han Jingnian’s hand shook violently.
"I didn’t get hit when I was asleep, did I?"
The calm semblance that Han Jingnian had been maintaining clearly began to collapse, and he involuntarily shifted in his seat on the couch.
Xia Wan’an swayed her head from side to side, circled her neck a few tis, then suddenly stared fixedly at Han Jingnian, frozen in place: "...you..."
Before Xia Wan’an could utter another word, Han Jingnian cut her off, "Durian, instant noodles, keyboard, pick one."
Xia Wan’an, who was originally going to ask Han Jingnian if he had been flirting with so dog behind her back, was left speechless upon hearing that. "...What?"
From the side, Xie Lin instantly understood Han Jingnian’s aning, and couldn’t help but chuckle. He was so amused that he ssed up applying dicine to Zhang Te’s wounds, causing Zhang Te to suck in a sharp breath from the pain.
Their subtle sounds drew Han Jingnian’s attention.
Zhang Te imdiately pretended he was severely injured and barely alive, while Xie Lin was tightly suppressing a smile as he continued to apply dicine to Zhang Te’s traumas dedicatedly.
Han Jingnian quietly pulled his gaze back. When he looked at Xia Wan’an again, the warning he had shown towards Zhang Te and Xie Lin had already vanished, replaced by anxiety and nervousness. Seeing Xia Wan’an still not breaking the silence, he spoke again, "Irrespective of which one you pick, I’ll kneel. Even if it’s the instant noodles, I’ll try my best to not let a single grain
