Han Zhijin stared at the smudge of red, remaining dazed for quite a while before he bowed his head to inspect his own body.
He wasn’t injured... But where did the blood co from?
Han Zhijin racked his brains for a long ti, unable to rember anything. His eyes, fixed on the bedsheet, were sowhat sore from the piercing red.
With a heart full of confusion and uncertainty, he took a shower, changed into clean clothes, and left the room.
Upon reaching the entrance of the hotel lobby, Han Zhijin handed the car keys to the doorman.
He had a creeping sense that sothing was off. Leaning against the glass door, he chewed on the leg of his sunglasses, trying hard to recall, but he could not figure out exactly what had gone wrong. His mory stayed stuck on the scene of him drinking in the Golden Splendor private room...
The car was soon brought around by the doorman. As Han Zhijin reached for the keys and prepared to get in, soone called out to him, "Mr. Han."
Han Zhijin looked up to see a waiter from the Golden Splendor.
Without saying a word, the waiter approached him and handed him a bracelet, "Mr. Han, I found this on your bed when I was cleaning the room..."
"In my room?" Han Zhijin echoed in confusion.
"Yes, Mr. Han."
Han Zhijin muttered an "Oh," took the bracelet and, without waiting for the waiter to leave, got in the car, took off his sunglasses, and began to examine the bracelet closely...
It was a pure gold bracelet, very familiar looking.
Chewing on his sunglasses, Han Zhijin recalled that this seed to be the bracelet Xia Wan’an bought for Song Youman and Ai Jiang when he visited Hong Kong.
He rembered Song Youman ntioning that there was an engraving on the back. Ai was for Ai Jiang and Man was for Youman.
Thinking this, Han Zhijin began to inspect the bracelet closely. He then found a small character, "Ai", engraved on the back of one of the rose petals.
Ai? Ai Jiang? Why would Ai Jiang’s bracelet be in his room? And the blood on the bed...
As these thoughts flashed across Han Zhijin’s mind, his hand suddenly trembled, and the bracelet fell to his feet.
Could it be? Could it be this terrible? Was he so desperate... that he’d force himself on Ai Jiang?
Wait, no... He was a seasoned party-goer with a better tolerance for alcohol than most. He didn’t have all that much to drink last night, how could he get so drunk as to black out?
Wrinkles furrowed Han Zhijin’s brow.
Could sobody have done sothing to him?
Thinking this, Han Zhijin bent over, picked up the bracelet, and tossed it casually into the car’s storage compartnt. Then, startin the car, he dialed a number and drove away from Golden Splendor.
"Uncle Xie?"
As this na escaped his lips, Han Zhijin sighed inwardly.
Just because his uncle’s friend, who was not much older than him, had been dubbed ’uncle’, he too had to call him ’uncle’...
"Are you at the hospital now? Oh... I’m not feeling unwell, but I think there’s sothing wrong with ... Alright, then wait for . I’ll co over now for a check-up..."
An hour later, Han Zhijin was handed the test results by Xie Lin.
Slouched on a couch, swinging his crossed leg, Han Zhijin read the report. He couldn’t make sense of it and turned to Xie Lin who was washing his hands, "Uncle Xie, don’t let read this. Just tell , do I have a problem or not?"
Xie Lin didn’t rush to answer Han Zhijin’s question. He leisurely dried his hands first, then looked at him with a serious face: "Zhijin, who were you with last night? Do you realize I found traces of a hallucinogen in your system?"
