Xia Wan’an listened in a daze, totally not understanding the underlying aning in Han Jingnian’s words.

"There won’t be any trouble for you"? Who is this "you" he’s talking about?

And who did "he" harm? As for the last phrase, "I’m sorry, I owe you my life"... Who is this "you"?

Amid Xia Wan’an’s bewildernt, she noticed that it was about ti for him to take his fever-reducing dicine again, so she fed him another pill.

Too exhausted to stay awake, her head kept drooping as she drifted between consciousness and sleep. She reached out a hand to feel his forehead, and upon confirming his normal temperature, she finally fell asleep, relieved.

...

Driven by his biological clock, Han Jingnian woke up promptly at seven in the morning when the sun’s rays shot through the window.

A heavy hangover combined with a high fever made his head throb painfully. He vigorously massaged his temples a few tis, and when the pain slightly subsided, he looked around.

Every scene within his sight was unfamiliar: cream-colored window drapes, pink sheets and duvet, HelloKitty decorations... This was clearly a woman’s room!

A woman!

This thought sent a jolt through Han Jingnian, causing him to sit up abruptly in bed.

How could he be in a woman’s room? If she found out...

Usually calm and composed, he suddenly felt an unprecedented panic unfold in his chest at this very mont.

Han Jingnian instinctively removed the blankets and upon seeing himself unclothed, he lost all strength in his legs and rolled off the bed onto the floor.

Instead of hitting the cold hard floor, what greeted him was sothing soft, accompanied by a delicate, muffled groan.

A tremor ran through Han Jingnian’s hand as he looked down hastily in shock. Seeing the girl’s face, his shattered heart began to co back together bit by bit.

He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply several tis, recovering from his false alarm. Then he realized he was still on top of the girl. Afraid of crushing her, he quickly got up.

Why... Why was she sleeping on the floor?

Thinking about it, Han Jingnian furrowed his eyebrows.

His eyes instinctively grazed the surroundings. Upon seeing the beads of sweat on his forehead reflected in the vanity mirror, a hint of regret crossed his eyes.

He broke out in a cold sweat from that scare just now?

Han Jingnian awkwardly, sowhat uneasily shifted his gaze away and found himself engrossed in the sight of the cotton balls in the trash can, the empty alcohol bottle, and the fever-reducing dicine, electric kettle, and empty cup on the side table.

Had he caught a fever again last night? And she took care of him?

Han Jingnian’s heart palpitated heavily. Following that, he noticed his clothes from the night before, now clean and neatly folded on the couch.

Because of her dical report, he had gone out alone from the hospital last night and consud a lot of alcohol. His mory was a blur after that... Looking at it now, had he co here to her?

With this thought, Han Jingnian’s gaze fell once more on the girl, sprawled out on the floor, seemingly dead to the world.

Then, as if realizing sothing, he quickly bent down to pick her up.

As he lay her on the bed, he noticed faint dark circles under her eyes.

Had she not slept well the entire night because of him?

A wave of warmth tinged with guilt washed over Han Jingnian’s heart, causing him to gaze at her, still sound asleep after he had gently laid her on the bed, with lingering unrest.
