Thirty seconds later, both of them spoke simultaneously: "It’s you?"

Upon seeing each other open their mouths, they both closed them, waiting for the other to speak.

About thirty to forty seconds later, seeing that neither of them were speaking, they realized they were each waiting for the other to start; so once again, they both spoke simultaneously: "What a coincidence..."

At the close of those words, both of them laughed. This ti, without waiting for Xia Wan’an to speak, the driver went first, "Miss Xia, you go ahead."

"I don’t have much to say, it’s just... I didn’t expect it to be you..."

Xia Wan’an rembered his na - He Che. He was Ai Jiang’s ex-boyfriend.

If they were to consider each other acquaintances, their relationship could best be described as love-hate.

"Indeed, thinking about it, we do have quite a lot of ’coincidental’ etings," said He Che, starting the car and speaking again. "But our connections run much deeper than that."

His voice softened when saying the last part; Xia Wan’an, sitting in the back, hadn’t heard him clearly and let out a confused "Huh?".

He CheGlancing back, He Che smirked, a warm and affectionate smile that highlighted the glimr of his eyes behind his glasses. "It’s nothing, Miss Xia."

Xia Wan’an nodded, choosing not to respond. However, she couldn’t help but secretly criticize him in her mind. Despite his intellectual look with those glasses,on, deep down, he exuded an air of deception, especially when he smiled. He was the epito of a wolf in sheep’s clothing!

Unfazed by her indifference, He Che initiated conversation again. "Miss Xia, would you like to listen to so music?"

"No need, thank you."

"What about the air conditioner? Are you comfortable with the temperature? Would you like to turn it up?"

"No need."

"There’s water by your side."

"OK."

As Xia Wan’an’s responses fewer in words, He Che’s enthusiasm did not wane. "Do you need help opening the bottle cap?"

"No need..." She paused before adding, "But I have one other need. I need you to shut up."

He Che was not upset by Xia Wan’an’s blunt request. On the contrary, he seed rather pleased, even letting out a chuckle before focusing his attention back on the road and driving in silence.

The car was quiet with a comfortable temperature. The journey to the suburbs would take a while, and since Xia Wan’an didn’t completely trust He Che, she discreetly turned on her phone’s recorder in case she needed to call the police. She then leaned against the car window and fell asleep.

When she woke up, the car had left the highway, and a blanket was draped over her.

Xia Wan’an was astounded. She looked at the driving He Che.

Did he cover her with it?

Feeling her gaze, He Che responded, "Awake?"

Noticing her attention focused on the blanket, he added, "It’s a new blanket, no one has used it."

It’s not that she cared whether the blanket has been used or not. What bothered her was the fact that he gave her the blanket in such a stealthy manner...

Thinking this, Xia Wan’an asked, "Are you always this thoughtful to all your passengers?"

"Of course not, this treatnt is only given to the fifteenth female passenger of the day." Actually, he was hoping to et his fifteenth girlfriend, but he didn’t expect the fifteenth female passenger to be her... Even if he had a hundred tis more courage, he wouldn’t dare make a move on her.
