"To bring you ho."

Han Jingnian’s voice was as calm as ever.

But the four words he uttered caused Xia Wan’an’s heart to inexplicably soften, its beats montarily halting.

The car was quiet for a mont.

Only after the car slowly entered the main road did Xia Wan’an blink her eyes, and then turn to Han Jingnian: "How did you know I was here?"

Han Jingnian, staring straight ahead at the road, showed no significant change in his expression, but his back abruptly stiffened.

He had only thought of picking her up, and forgotten about this question... He couldn’t possibly tell her that in order to pick her up, he had went as far as drugging his brother and snooping on his brother’s chat records with her, could he?

Just as Han Jingnian was rapidly thinking of an excuse, Xia Wan’an, sitting in the passenger seat, spoke again: "Did my brother tell you?"

The only person who knew her location and her relationship with Han Jingnian was Xia Chen’an.

Han Jingnian hesitated for a mont, and finally, expressionless, responded with a simple "Mm".

She had guessed correctly... Xia Wan’an silently grumbled about Xia Chen’an’s unreliability, and then turned to Han Jingnian again: "Why didn’t my brother co to pick up then?"

Han Jingnian’s previously relaxed back, tensed up again.

How was he supposed to answer? Was he supposed to say that her brother was currently sleeping soundly due to the Knockout Drug he’d been administered?

"Was it because my brother saw a pretty girl again, went out drinking with her, and then got drunk?"

Hearing this, Han Jingnian lowered his gaze, wearing an innocent expression, and replied with another simple "Mm".

"I knew it, Xia Chen’an is so unreliable!" Xia Wan’an muttered under her breath. Seeing the rain pouring outside the car window, rendering the road conditions unclear, she added sowhat resignedly, "Um... thank you. I’m sorry you had to go to the trouble of picking up in such heavy rain."

Han Jingnian said nothing, but his eyes beca slightly colder.

She had been hindered by the heavy rain from getting ho, why didn’t she call him? He had co to pick her up, why was she being so polite? Her politeness made it seem as if they were strangers...

Seeing that Han Jingnian did not respond, Xia Wan’an glanced at him, but discerning his poor mood, she turned her head away and looked out the window again.

After they got ho, Han Jingnian’s expression didn’t improve. Upon exchanging his shoes, he headed directly to the study.

The force with which he closed the door was a bit strong, as if expressing his dissatisfaction.

Xia Wan’an, left puzzled by Han Jingnian’s strange behaviour, stared at the closed study door for a while before retiring to her bedroom.

During her shower, Xia Wan’an pondered over Han Jingnian’s behavior that night. Thinking it over, she didn’t feel that she had provoked him in any way. Thus, after lying on the bed, she texted Zhang Te: "Zhang Te, what’s up with your boss today? He looks like he’s in a bad mood. Did sothing happen at work?"

In the study next door, a man who was sulking at his desk heard Zhang Cheng’s phone go off and imdiately unlocked the screen.

Seeing the ssage from Xia Wan’an, Han Jingnian’s mood lightened considerably.

Was she showing concern for him?

Thinking this, Han Jingnian couldn’t help but smile a satisfied smile. He began to reply to Xia Wan’an’s ssage, pretending to be Zhang Te: "Madam, Mr. Han’s work is going smoothly without any troubles."

"The most beautiful kid in the whole capital": "Oh."

"The most beautiful kid in the whole capital": "So, he must be having his period then."
