"Han Zhijin, does your little uncle have a girlfriend?"
"Why do you ask?"
"No reason, just curious. You know, won love to gossip..."
"Oh."
Perhaps because Han Zhijin’s reply was too perfunctory, the private room fell silent for a mont before Ai Jiang spoke again.
"Han Zhijin, last week I saw Xia Wan’an get into your little uncle’s car. I rember that when I first t him at Golden Splendor, he didn’t speak to Xia Wan’an. I even asked Xia Wan’an about it, and she told she didn’t know your little uncle. But just a short while later, they seem to be so close, and it was Xia Wan’an who actively reached for your little uncle’s hand! Is sothing going on between them that they’re hiding from us?"
Such cunning words. It seed like she was just casually chatting with Han Zhijin, when in fact she was subtly putting Xia Wan’an down in front of him.
Wasn’t she simply telling Han Zhijin that Xia Wan’an lied by saying she didn’t know Han Jingnian and then turned around to take his hand?
Pity, she calculated all this but didn’t expect that Xia Wan’an and Han Jingnian were already married...
Xia Wan’an just lowered her eyelids and didn’t interrupt the two people in the room.
"I’m not too sure about that."
Ai Jiang uttered a slightly embarrassed "Oh."
Soon, Ai Jiang reopened the conversation: "By the way, when I joined the company, I learned a bit about your little uncle. His birthday is next month. Han Zhijin, how does your little uncle celebrate his birthday? Can you take to his birthday party?"
Upon hearing Ai Jiang’s words, Xia Wan’an realized Han Jingnian’s birthday was approaching indeed.
But... why was Ai Jiang so attentive towards Han Jingnian?
"My little uncle doesn’t celebrate his birthday. Even if he did, it would only be with family."
"I see... so what does your uncle like? I want to prepare a birthday gift for him, but I don’t know what to buy."
"I couldn’t possibly know what my little uncle likes. I’m not a parasite in his belly."
Xia Wan’an: "..." Han Zhijin was undoubtedly a fool, considering himself a parasite.
"But why are you so interested in my uncle?" Han Zhijin was the one who spoke up again.
"He’s the boss, after all. I want to leave a good impression on him." Ai Jiang paused, then continued: "Han Zhijin, I even prepared a gift for your birthday. I carefully selected all your gifts, and even started preparing your birthday gift a month in advance last year..."
Having heard this, Xia Wan’an finally understood.
Ai Jiang was trying to get both uncle and nephew! She wanted to have her cake and eat it too...
"Is that so? You’ve worked hard. But can you tell , what was the birthday gift you gave last year?"
Upon hearing Han Zhijin’s words, Xia Wan’an almost burst out laughing.
He really deserved his twenty-three years of being single!
"It was a belt, GUCCI product..."
GUCCI... She’s quite generous to Han Zhijin. When she gave presents to her and Song Youman on their birthdays, the gifts were just cheap things bought online... Not that she cared about the expense of the gifts, but it was sowhat funny.
As it turned out, she and Song Youman had been used from the very beginning. They were just stepping stones for Ai Jiang on her path to success.
There’s really not much to say. If anything, it’s just, she was too naive, she didn’t recognize whether it was a person or a dog.
