...
Three years later.
Again, at the end of another sumr.
Today is Tuesday, and without having to go to work, Youman brings Little Muxi along to pick up Xia Wan’an early in the morning.
Xia Wan’an usually can’t wake up easily, but when the three-and-a-half-year-old Little Muxi rushed to the bedside and gave her a loud kiss on the face, "An’an, it’s ti to wake up."
According to the family hierarchy, Little Muxi should really call An’an ’Grandma,’ but Xia Wan’an truly detested that title, so she insisted that Little Muxi just call her An’an.
Little Muxi’s voice was so sweet that when she called out "An’an," it lted Xia Wan’an’s heart completely. Even though she was reluctant to leave the comfort of her bed, she quickly sat up and scooped Little Muxi into her arms, fawning over her excessively.
"In this world, the only one who can call you out of bed this quickly is Muxi," Song Youman, who followed Little Muxi into the bedroom, teased Xia Wan’an with a smile.
Xia Wan’an hugged Little Muxi even tighter to her chest: "Of course, who wouldn’t love Little Muxi as much as I do!"
Upon hearing this, Little Muxi imdiately looked up with her big, black, glistening eyes, and sweetly, as if coated in honey, said: "An’an, I love you too."
Seeing Little Muxi’s adorable, milk-like innocence, Xia Wan’an couldn’t help but kiss him several tis on the face, then reluctantly let go of him to get washed up.
After leaving ho, Xia Wan’an and Song Youman first stopped by a nearby breakfast place to fill their stomachs, then they took Little Muxi to the maternity center.
Han Yixiao beca pregnant last fall, and her water broke the night before last, taking her to the hospital for a grueling twelve hours. Finally, at seven o’clock yesterday morning, she gave birth to a six-pound baby girl.
The baby girl had yet to be officially nad, but her nickna was decided on at the first pregnancy check-up, calling her ngng.
Initially, Xia Wan’an didn’t understand why such a nickna was chosen. It was only by chance that she found out the na derived from Zhang Cheng’s na (Cheng ng Yixiao), though ’ng’ sounding too masculine was modified to ’ng’ from ’lemon’ (limón).
Today, the maternity center was crowded with visitors, and there weren’t enough parking spots. Song Youman had to park in the underground car park of a nearby hotel. Little Muxi wanted to go to the bathroom, so Xia Wan’an took him out of the car ahead of ti.
Having given prior notice, Xia Wan’an, led by the maternity center staff, took Little Muxi straight to the eighth floor. After entering Han Yixiao’s room and greeting Han Yixiao and Zhang Cheng, Xia Wan’an took Little Muxi to the restroom.
As they would soon see the newly born ngng, Xia Wan’an ticulously washed both her and Little Muxi’s hands.
When they ca out of the restroom, ngng had just finished drinking milk, lying in the crib with her eyes closed, tenderly opening and closing her tiny pink mouth, sticking out her tongue.
Seeing baby ngng, Little Muxi’s eyes lit up. He stretched out a hand and gently pulled on ngng’s little hand, calling out in a young, tender voice, "Sister..."
Xia Wan’an, holding Little Muxi and watching baby ngng, chuckled: "Little Muxi, you don’t call her sister; you call her ’little auntie’..."
