The discussions in the general managent office’s pantry went on for a full half-hour until the lunch break was over, and everyone dispersed, heading back to their workstations.
Zhang Cheng, who had been the subject of discussion by the entire general managent office for a long ti, was now sitting at his workstation, staring at the file opened on his computer screen, having been in a daze for half an hour already.
His desk phone had been ringing for a full ten minutes, without anyone picking it up.
The people in the general managent office, disturbed by the noise, kept looking his way until the most senior secretary, Secretary Sun, couldn’t help but walk over to Assistant Zhang Te’s front and softly reminded him, "Assistant Zhang Te, you have a phone call."
Zhang Cheng snapped back to reality and said "Oh, oh" a couple of tis as he hurriedly answered the phone.
After hanging up, Zhang Cheng threw himself back into his work. However, this state of focus lasted only for a little over ten minutes before he put down his pen, propped his temples, and started staring out the window, spacing out again.
The outco of his day’s lack of focus was that by the ti people were leaving work, his tasks were unfinished and Zhang Cheng could only bitterly stay back at the office to work overti.
It was eleven o’clock at night when he, for the first ti in his life with such low work efficiency, finally finished everything. Picking up his coat and ready to leave work, he took a couple of steps towards the elevator but then turned back, picking up the book that Han Yixiao had left at his house from the office desk.
Zhang Cheng, who initially intended to go ho in his car, sohow ended up driving to the entrance of Han Yixiao’s school without really understanding how he got there.
Zhang Cheng glanced at the book on the passenger seat, hesitated for a mont, but eventually hit the brakes and parked the car on the side.
He didn’t know how long he sat in the car until he saw a police car drive by, followed by an ambulance two minutes later.
Did soone get injured? Was there danger? Why are there both police cars and ambulances...

Xie Lin: "What ’huh’? Miss Han called you half an hour ago. Did you not pick up?"
Zhang Cheng furrowed his brow and flipped through his call log: "She didn’t call ..."
"She didn’t call you? How could that be? Her phone clearly has a record of a call being made... Could it be that it didn’t connect and she hung up?"
Listening to Xie Lin’s muttering on the other end of the phone, Zhang Cheng frowned: "What happened? Is sothing wrong with Miss Han?"
