Chapter 42: Overpowered Ran
"Why is it glowing?" Kaden asked the old man behind the counter but it seed that they were now completely ignoring him and doing their own thing in the back of the kitchen.
However, the person beside Kaden decided to enlighten him, "Do you really not know why the bowl is glowing?" They asked in surprise.
Kaden looked at this person strangely. Obviously, he wasn't sure why a ran bowl would be glowing, it's not like this is a common thing anywhere in the world, and if it is he wanted to know where.
"Not in the slightest. Do you normally have a glowing bowl of ran placed in front of you when you go to eat at places like this?" Kaden responded back.
"Well, if you consider that this is the most special ran shop in the world then yes I would say that this is quite normal." The person said making fun of Kaden for his lack of knowledge on anything about the ran shop.
Kaden was confused by this comnt, "The most special ran shop in the world? How can this be that if I haven't even heard of this place until I walked past it today?" Kaden said with a curious stare at the person beside him.
The person then chuckled loudly which didn't sound very pleasant with the distortion that the voice changer gave but after a mont the laughter stopped and the person spoke once more, "That's because only those that have awoken their class will be able to sense and see this shop. The owner and his son have classes that make this possible." They said.
After the person dropped this bomb Kaden was more than surprised considering that he hadn't even thought things like this might be possible. Being able to make a place that cannot be detected by the naked eye and only by those with a class. If that was possible then so many other things were possible. Kaden thought he might even be able to make a space similar to Darius from before.
"That's amazing! Why go through all that trouble though and what makes it so special to even want to do all of that?" Kaden asked.
The person seed to be getting a little annoyed with all of his questions and decided to end the talks with one final sentence, "Drink the soup and you will find out why." The person said before turning their gaze back towards the chefs that were still cooking in the back and ignoring Kaden's questions.
Kaden took this advice and looked back at the soup in front of him and it made him gulp involuntarily. The sll alone was already amazing but it was also decorated with small little vegetables and pieces of at that made it even more appetizing than a normal bowl of noodles would be.
After staring at the mouthwatering ran for a few monts longer he couldn't help himself and he decided to start eating it. Kaden broke the chopsticks beside him in half and grabbed a large number of noodles before slurping them all into his mouth and testing the taste for himself.
The instant those noodles and the broth hit his taste buds, his entire body almost started convulsing by how great they were. Kaden could also hear the person beside him start chuckling at his insane reaction but he could care less at this mont as the only thing on his mind was to keep consuming the mouth-watering ran sitting in front of him.
Before he knew what happened Kaden had consud all of the noodles in the bowl but that wasn't the only thing as the vegetables and at weren't spared either and were currently in his stomach.
"That was the tastiest thing I've ever had in my life." Kaden said out loud before turning towards the chefs behind the counter.
"Thank you so much. You guys are really amazing!" Kaden praised them and thanked them for their hospitality and for introducing him to such an amazing dish.
Contrary to his expectations the two behind the counter didn't really respond to him and the old man only grabbed a small makeup mirror tucked away in the corner before handing it to Kaden, "Look at yourself." The old man said to him.
At first, Kaden didn't understand why the old man was handing him this mirror but once he looked at it and saw his reflection he knew exactly why. All of the previous cuts, bruises, and dried blood that had been there before were now gone and the things that remained on his body were disappearing before him in the blink of an eye every single one of his injuries was gone and his body was brand new.
"How did you do this?!" Kaden asked the older man in surprise after seeing the new condition of his body.
"Personal secret. That bowl will be on the house so don't worry about it." The older man said with a smile before turning around and going back to what he was doing.
Kaden was almost annoyed when the man said he wouldn't explain how it worked but then he realized the magnitude that the bowl of ran he just ate would have. If for example soone captured the man in front of him and forced him to work on more and more ran to have such effects then it might be not only detrintal to him but also to his workers as well.
"It seems you are surprised by the effects of it." The person beside Kaden chis in with a smug-sounding tone. Despite there being a voice changer, the person couldn't hide certain emotions within their voice and so of the mannerisms that lead to so of Kaden's conclusions while talking to them.
"I had no idea sothing like this would happen. I thought this was just a normal ran shop where I could spend so ti alone with my thoughts and enjoy a happy atmosphere for a change but this is even better." Kaden said ecstatically to the person.
The person then dropped a bomb once more on Kaden, "Well I'm glad you enjoyed it and they put it on the house because that was a $50,000 bowl of ran you just had."
