Su Mu slowly shook his head. “You’re wrong. Yes, the struggle within human nature is fascinating. But… humanity’s unyielding defiance against fate, their reckless pursuit of ideals, unwavering devotion to love, and the sincere emotions shown even in the simplest, most ordinary lives—aren’t these equally spectacular?

It’s all of this that makes a person’s life truly extraordinary.”

Yang Dongqing was montarily dazed. For so reason, he actually heard a burning sincerity in Su Mu’s calm voice.

He stayed silent for a long ti, as if seeing Su Mu clearly for the first ti.

“You’re right,” Yang Dongqing said seriously.

“He believed it! He really believed it! Hahaha…” Su Mu turned to Zhao Chaoyao beside him, laughing gleefully like a child who’d just pulled off a prank.

“You bastard!” Yang Dongqing instantly lost it. If he weren’t severely injured, he would’ve leapt over and smashed Su Mu’s head.

“Classmate Yang Dongqing, your current expression is just as spectacular. Hahaha…”

Yang Dongqing’s face turned dark as coal. Too furious to speak, he turned away and ignored Su Mu.

“Boss, what do we do next? Are we going to kill all the villagers?” Zhao Chaoyao asked anxiously. He wasn’t worried about his own life—he was worried for Su Mu’s safety. In his current state, he could hardly protect his leader anymore.

Su Mu shook his head. “If I’m not wrong, even if we kill all the villagers, the nightmare still won’t end.”

“What!?” Zhao Chaoyao was stunned. Even Yang Dongqing, who had turned away, now looked back.

“Didn’t Ye Fanyu say there were two ways to break a nightmare?” Yang Dongqing said anxiously. “One is to kill the source of the nightmare, the other is to save the source. If we kill all the villagers, doesn’t that count as saving Tingting?”

He wasn’t in the mood to argue anymore. Jasmine was still waiting for him. He didn’t want to die here.

Su Mu looked at him calmly and said slowly, “Do you really think killing the villagers will save Tingting? She is the source of the nightmare. Everything here exists because of her. In other words, the villagers can’t truly hurt her.

What’s trapped her has never been the villagers… but her own obsession.”

“Her own obsession?” Yang Dongqing frowned. “Aren’t her nightmares caused by those villagers who bullied her? If we kill them, how could the nightmare not be broken?”

Su Mu recalled that innocent little girl and smiled gently. “A little girl who didn’t want you and Ye Fanyu to fight, who gave up her favorite dumplings even while starving—do you really think revenge is her obsession?

Maybe… she’s never hated anyone at all. She’s just a pure, innocent child. A little girl who desperately wants to find her family.

Rember that photo?

Even when she was hiding, she clung to it. So… in Tingting’s heart, what truly matters isn’t hatred—it’s family.”

Yang Dongqing trembled. A surge of indescribable emotion welled up in his chest. He didn’t know why, but his heart ached. The pain climbed up from his chest and reached his eyes.

He remained silent for a long ti. When he finally spoke again, his voice was already hoarse. “The world shouldn’t be like this.”

Su Mu looked at him deeply and replied coldly, “Maybe… this is exactly what the world is like.”

“Then I’ll change the world!” Yang Dongqing clenched his fists tightly, veins bulging from his arms.

Su Mu’s voice remained calm. “You know, many young people dream of changing the world… and in the end, they’re changed by it.”

“I’m not like them!” Yang Dongqing growled, half a declaration, half convincing himself. “Since Heaven gave

this power, I’ll use it to change this damn world!”

“Classmate Yang Dongqing, have you considered that maybe you can’t change anything? That behind every nightmare, there may be a girl like Tingting? You can’t even save her now—so what makes you think you’ll succeed later?

Right now, you’re driven by passion. But a few days from now, when you’re starving, dying of thirst… will you still believe what you do now? Will you agree with Ye Fanyu then?”

“Impossible! I, Yang Dongqing, would rather die than hurt Tingting! She’s suffered enough—she doesn’t deserve this!” Yang Dongqing’s bloodshot eyes flared.

Su Mu adjusted his glasses with elegance. “Is that so? Then what about Jasmine? You’d rather die here than see her one last ti? She loves you so much, even drew her sword at

for your sake. If you die, what happens to Jasmine?”

The words cut into Yang Dongqing like a blade, piercing his heart. His face went pale instantly.

“Jasmine…”

“Wake up, Yang Dongqing. This is the cruelty of reality.”

Yang Dongqing raised his head abruptly, his voice resolute. “I’ll help Tingting find her family—and then return to the real world.”

Su Mu chuckled. “Classmate Yang Dongqing, you’re unexpectedly greedy. You want both the fish and the bear’s paw. But that’s not sothing you can achieve just by saying it. For example… you still don’t even know who Tingting’s sister is.”

Yang Dongqing froze. A wave of helplessness surged in his heart. He hated his own weakness. But the next mont, he seed to think of sothing… and grinned.

“I really don’t know anything… but I still believe I can do it.”

“Oh?” Su Mu raised an eyebrow, curious. “Where does that confidence co from?”

Yang Dongqing stared at him, eyes blazing. “From you.”

Su Mu blinked, pointing at himself. “?”

Yang Dongqing grinned wider—even though it tugged at his injuries and made his face contort in pain, he still smiled. “That’s right. You gave

this confidence. Soone as dangerous as you… if you didn’t hesitate to kill Ye Fanyu, that ans you must have a way to help Tingting!”

Su Mu gazed at Yang Dongqing, as if seeing him in a new light. Yang Dongqing didn’t look away. His resolute eyes stared straight back at Su Mu.

Suddenly, Su Mu smiled without a word. “Classmate Yang Dongqing, I really have to look at you differently now. Not bad. I do have a way. But I can’t guarantee it will work.

You need to understand—if we fail, we could all die.”

“I don’t care!”

Su Mu’s smile deepened. “What a coincidence… neither do I.”
