"Hmm... it looks like an accident," Han Queying said after watching the footage.

"See? Told you! Even all the witnesses said the sa thing!" Li Daijin nodded smugly, clearly pleased he was right all along.

"But the guy who did it said he pushed her!" Luo Yanyu groaned in frustration. Now even a professional thought it was just an accident—she felt hopeless.

’That damned gangster...’

’I’ll rember your voice. I’ll find out who you are, and when I do, I’m kicking your balls so hard you’ll be coughing them up!’ she clenched her fists tightly.

"Wait—soone admitted to doing it? Do you have a recording?" Han Queying asked, eyes narrowing with interest.

Luo Yanyu hesitated. She wanted to hand over the voice recording, but her gut scread no. If the recording went to the court and Golden Earth sohow found her and Zhao Yiming’s connection to the missing of black ledger, it would be a disaster!

"Ugh... Is there a way to use it without giving it to the police?" she asked carefully. "I really don’t want my identity exposed to the public."

"Hmm... That’d be tough," Han Queying replied, her voice uncertain. "In court, the recording’s authenticity would definitely be questioned without the original source."

"But," she added with a reassuring smile, "I’ll still take your words seriously. Let’s go to the scene. There’s sothing I want to check."

She stood up, and the others followed.

"Huh? What is it?" Luo Yanyu and Li Daijin asked as they walked outside.

"You’ll see soon enough."

The three of them made their way to the pedestrian overpass—the very spot where Madam He had fallen.

Han Queying squatted down, running her fingers along the tal railing. "Madam He might not have fallen on her own. There are two possibilities: either she slipped... or soone deliberately placed sothing here to make her fall."

Luo Yanyu’s eyes widened. "Would that be considered a cri?"

"Of course. If soone did it on purpose, that’s intentional injury. If the victim dies, it could escalate to intentional homicide," Han replied seriously. "What we need now is CCTV footage from a different angle or maybe a different ti."

She stood up and glanced around. "Wait... there’s no CCTV around here? That’s strange."

"Well, Ms. Han, this isn’t a big city," Li Daijin said with a shrug.

"Right... then let’s head back to Madam Wen’s noodle shop and see if the footage from another day gives us anything."

The three of them started heading back down. But as they reached the front of the shop, they noticed a man standing there, glancing repeatedly at his phone.

When he saw them approaching, he raised his head and waved. "Yanyu!"

"Ah—" Luo Yanyu marched up to him. "What took you so long?!"

"Well, you know... traffic?" Zhao Yiming chuckled awkwardly.

The truth was, it had taken a while to convince Su ilin to let him leave. She’d grown clingy—needy, even—and her soft pleas and pouting made it nearly impossible to turn her down.

It took him nearly an hour to persuade her, and even then, she sighed in disappointnt and turned her back to him without a word.

"Traffic? At this ti of day?" Luo Yanyu rolled her eyes. "At least try to co up with a better excuse!"

She stord into the shop, leaving Zhao standing there, stunned.

"Ehh... hey, wait, Yanyu!" he reached out toward her, but before he could move, the system suddenly chid.

[Ding!]

[New Target Found!]

---

"What?!"

Zhao Yiming’s eyes widened as he instinctively turned to the side—only to see a stunning woman standing nearby, looking straight at him.

She seed montarily dazed, like she was seeing sothing unbelievably beautiful... before she quickly shook her head, snapping back to reality.

"Ah—I need to head in too," she mumbled and hurried inside, following Li Daijin, leaving Zhao standing there, completely confused.

Who was that woman? Zhao Yiming wondered as he stepped into the shop. My new target...?

But the mont he walked inside, the rich aroma of Sichuan spicy noodles hit him like a wave of nostalgia. An old woman welcod them with a gentle smile.

It was his wife—from his past life, when he was still Lao Chen.

He didn’t rember her shop being in this area. But now that she had received compensation money from Lao Chen’s "drunk accident," it made sense they might’ve moved sowhere better.

I didn’t even realize... She might’ve changed the na of the noodle shop too.

Back then, after Lao Chen was fired and falsely accused of stealing money from his company, he’d lost everything.

With the last of their savings, they opened a humble shop called Old Chen Noodle. Now it was called Sister Qiao Noodle House.

They probably changed it for rebranding... or maybe as a way of saying "I’m free from him." He smirked bitterly.

This new place was nicer, and more modern—clean walls, digital nu screens, and polished wooden tables. Nothing like the old, run-down noodle stall they once ran together.

But just as he was getting lost in mories, a voice called out from the kitchen:

"Mom, I’m hungry..." A young woman stepped out, looking sleepy. But when she spotted them, she paused.

"Oh... Why are there more of you now?" she sighed.

Then her eyes landed on Zhao Yiming—and she froze.

Her mouth opened slightly in shock, then snapped shut. Without a word, she turned on her heel and ran back into the kitchen.

Wen Qiao blinked in confusion. "What’s wrong with her? She ran like she saw a ghost."

Zhao Yiming smiled awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. He knew exactly what had happened. That girl had recognized him—he was the man who gave her his shoulder to cry on at Lao Chen’s funeral.

Now, seeing him again must’ve been too embarrassing for her.

Ah, that girl... Still acting like a little kid.

"Anyway, who’s this man?" Han Queying suddenly asked, turning to Zhao Yiming.

"Ah, right—I’m Zhao Yiming. I’m this girl’s partner," he said, gesturing toward Luo Yanyu.

"Ohh, I see. So you’re involved in all this too." Han nodded, her expression turning focused.

"I’m Han Queying, the detective in charge of Madam He’s case."

She smiled politely, radiating a cool, professional air that made Zhao unconsciously straighten his back.

His eyes drifted toward Luo Yanyu, who now seed determined not to et his gaze.

Wait... a cop? Zhao Yiming’s pupils dilated. MY NEXT TARGET IS A COP?!

The one person I should be staying far, far away from... and now she’s the one I have to seduce?!

He almost had a heart attack on the spot.

You gotta be kidding , you dogshit deity!
