It takes us the entire day to arrive in Eagle’s Talon, the capital city of the Gipan Kingdom. We keep going at night, and only stop when monsters attack us or the road is too dangerous to use at night. There are too many holes in the road in the northern territory.

This is another reason why we managed to go this quickly to the capital city. The road on the south is better than the north. We can continue galloping even when the darkness covers the land.

We arrive in the Eagle’s Talon just after the sun goes up. We arrive around eight in the morning and are now being escorted to the palace, where the servant already takes us to our rooms. Jonathan and Jullian have the sa room, right in front of Silva, Hilda, and My room and Freyja will be next to their room.

After putting our luggage in our room, we decided to explore the city. I decide to visit the church first, and as we walk toward the church, Freyja looks at and says,

"I don’t know that you are a very religious person, Gwyn."

"Hmmm? Well, I’m not a religious person, but I want to thank the Goddesses and Gods for the blessing they have given . The least I can do is donate and pray inside their holy house."

"What a beautiful word, my child."

I look to the side and see an old man wearing a white robe with the symbol of The Church of Light on his robe. From the color of his symbol, he must be a bishop. The Church of Light has six ranks: Deacons/Nun → Priest/Priestess → Bishop → Archbishop → Cardinal → Pope.

Bishop is already a high-ranking position in the church, and only a noble above knight can hire their service to bless their land or to cure any sickness.

"Thank you for your kind words, Honorable Bishop."

"Think nothing of it, my child. I only tell the truth. Your word is sothing that many people should say. Many people never once thank Goddess Alena for the life she has given us. Life itself is a blessing she gives to all living beings. Even though they cannot donate, they at least need to pray every now and then to thank Goddess Alena for her blessing."

And the old man starts to rant about Goddess Alena. I begin to regret saying that word. I am only grateful for whoever is sending here. I don’t know if it is Goddess Alena or the god from Earth. I am not praying for her but rather for whoever is sending here.

Seeing that we are uncomfortable with his rant, the old bishop coughs and says.

"I’m sorry about that. I’m just happy there is soone who takes our Goddess’ na seriously. Especially soone so young. Anyway, let introduce myself. My na is Claudio Mugavero, a bishop from Nurlok Barony to the west."

Nurlok Barony, one of the mbers of the Sea League. What is the Sea League? They are a group of nobles that cut ties from the kingdom’s political matters and focus on ensuring the sea is safe from pirates and monsters. They are a group of people who rule over the kingdom’s northern part. They are master of the sea and master fishern.

They are among the richest nobles in the kingdom because of how many trading ships get into their territory daily.

"Nurlok Barony! That is quite a bit far away from Eagle’s Talon, right, Honorable Bishop?"

"Of course. However, distance will not stop from doing my annual prayer in the Grandest Church of Goddess Alena. It is a self-appointed duty I give to myself to devote myself more to the Goddess."

"I see. Do you want to co with us to the church? We are going there, after all."

"Oh my! Thank you for your kindness. Sadly, I need to visit an old friend before returning to the church. I’m sorry, my child."

"It is not a problem, Honorable Bishop."

"Thank you, and it looks like we will go our separate ways. May the Goddess shine her warm light on you, my child."

After saying that, the bishop walks to the left while we go to the right. After seeing him walk away, Hilda looks at and says,

"Does all the bishops in this kingdom like that, Gwyn?"

"Hmmm? Not really. Most of the priests, priestesses, nuns, and deacons I have encountered are not like that. They are more reserved, but once they are preaching their beliefs, they will be like that. You know what? I take back what I said. All of them are like that when they are preaching the good na of Goddess Alena."

Hilda nods her head and says.

"So of the priests and bishops in the Luzia Kingdom also have this sa behavior. We did not hate them, but it was a little bit too much when they started talking about their beliefs. It is as if we do not have the sa Goddess."

"I know what you an. Anyway, we are here."

I look at the massive building, and my companion and I walk inside the building. When we get inside, I can see a few people praying inside the building. One of the nuns walks toward us and greets us.

"Welco to the house of Goddess. What can this humble self help you with?"

I nod, take out a bag full of gold coins, and say.

"Sister, I co here to donate and pray to the Goddess."

The nun gently takes the bag of gold and says.

"Of course. Our church welcos anyone who wants to pray to the Goddess. Do you need a private room?"

"Yes."

"Of course. Follow ."

She nods and leads to the small room at the back while my companion sits near the entrance to the church. They did not want to pray or donate, so they could not get deeper into the church. Only soone who wants to pray, donate sothing, or awaken their talent can get deeper into the church.

The nun opens the door and says.

"Please use this room as much as you like."

"Thank you, sister."

After she closes the door, I take a deep breath and close my eyes.

|3rd POV|

Theodulf Hayes, the Crown Prince of the Tanada Kingdom, looks at the city in front of him and turns to his companion, who sits next to him.

"What do you think of this city, Brian?"

The man, Brian, looks out of the carriage and says.

"The wall is tall enough to hold a massive army and make it harder for the invader to get on the wall because of the height. The tower is not many, but they are being built on an important spot on the wall. The tower will cover all the blind spots of the wall. As for the city... It is a labyrinth. Without a guide, we will be lost, and I have a feeling it is being built like that on purpose. It will confuse the invader who gets inside the city and leave more ti for the defender to reinforce the army on the wall or put them on the inner wall. Or worse, fighting while hiding among all these buildings. Also, that wall. It is even taller than the outer wall and thicker as well. We cannot destroy them using a trebuchet or catapult. We need to depend on a group of magicians to destroy that wall, but even then, it will take a long ti to destroy a small chunk of it. The only way to defeat this wall is to climb it. Making a taller ladder will be good, but it will cost us many soldiers in the process. All in all, this city is great at defending against invaders. We need a lot of people to occupy this city."

Theodulf releases a sigh at his friend’s explanation and says.

"What I want to ask is how the city is. Is it better than our capital or not? Is there more population in this city than our capital city or not? That kind of question. I don’t want your full explanation of how to invade this city. We are here not to make enemies but rather to make friends."

"I’m sorry, Your Highness."

Theo can only sigh and say.

"Forget it. Anyway, last night, you got confirmation from our informant, right?"

Brian nods his head and says.

"Yes, Your Highness. We have confirmation the infamous Gwyndolin the Life Giver will attend the eting."

Theo releases a sigh and says.

"Gwyndolin the Life Giver, the man that can heal anyone even when they are halfway through the underworld. As long as they are not dead, he can heal them without a problem. However, that is not the only thing he is known for. The rumor says that he is a sharp person who can notice even the tiniest detail, a man who can fight a hundred n with ease, and soone who can summon massive creatures to do his bidding."

Theo sighs once again and says.

"I really hope that this eting is not too difficult."
