Chief Henry sighed:

"Not long ago, the tribe was attacked by a tier-three one-eyed bear that suddenly woke up. Aiden’s little daughter was almost eaten by it.

Luckily, so Snow Wolf people passing by helped us kill it, and even helped clear a round of magic beasts active nearby, thanks to which we’ve had peace these past few days."

Julia continued:

"Exactly, that one-eyed bear collapsed more than half of our houses. Wait for better weather to rebuild, next year..."

She stopped just in ti:

"For the remaining months, let the tribesn stay temporarily in the basent; after all, we got used to it when living in the human world."

After speaking, she rejoiced secretly in her heart, almost slipping up about kid Eric planning to bring people to help them build houses next year.

She didn’t know if the Ox-Head tribe was aware of the Snow Wolf people living with the Dwarves, so she tried not to ntion it. If it caused trouble for kid Eric, she would feel extrely guilty.

Moc’s face fell:

"Last ti I left, I had already cleared a round, who would have expected..."

Julia hurriedly comforted him:

"You guys have helped us a lot already; who can control the range of magic beast activities. This ti we were also unlucky; one-eyed bears normally wouldn’t wake up in winter, perhaps it was too hungry."

Magic beasts here could never be killed completely. The Ox-Head tribe ca to clear around the Gray Iron tribe once a year, but they couldn’t be on guard all the ti.

Chief Henry then decided to move the entire tribe to this swamp; who knew they still couldn’t avoid it.

But to be fair, apart from magic beasts occasionally appearing in this swamp, as long as one didn’t go near, it was fine. Magic beasts in the neighboring areas were much fewer than in their old place.

Moc looked around at the passing Dwarves; everyone had calm faces, clearly having put the magic beast attack behind them. It seed the damage truly wasn’t great.

"Your luck is indeed not bad; Snow Wolf people usually don’t go out easily in winter." Moc exclaid.

Due to frequent interactions with beastman tribes, he also had a certain understanding of Snow Wolf people.

Aiden walked by holding his beloved daughter; hearing this, he was still fearful as he recounted:

"Tell about it, I was almost swallowed by that bear, its mouth opened this wide back then!"

He used his free hand to gesture wildly.

An in his arms was tickled by her father’s movents and giggled. Being young, she forgot quickly and no longer rembered being picked up by the one-eyed bear.

Julia smiled benevolently at An, wondering silently if kid Eric and the others had returned to the tribe safely. The Snow Wolf people were powerful; surely nothing would happen.

Which Snow Wolf tribe passed by here? Amidst a peaceful scene, Moc frowned in thought.

"Achoo!" Eric suddenly sneezed loudly, rubbing his nose aggrievedly.

Since turning into a Snow Wolf person, he hadn’t sneezed for a very long ti. It didn’t feel like a cold either; maybe soone was ntioning him. It must be Leo missing him, Eric thought confidently.

Returning to the tribe this ti was during the day. From afar, they t Michael and Riley patrolling at the edge of the territory. They joyfully welcod the group back.

"Kid Eric, must be tired from the journey!" Michael leaned close to Max’s back, asking with concern.

Before Eric could answer, Thomas beside them said unhappily:

"You brat, why don’t you ask about the elders!"

Before he finished speaking, Riley and a group of warriors surrounded Max, speaking one after another to Eric.

"You guys brought back so much food; did kid Eric’s white wine fetch a good price?"

"Kid Eric just sneezed; is he sick?"

"Go, go, go, how can a Snow Wolf cub get sick so easily."

"But if it’s kid Eric, it’s not certain..."

"Then who will make delicious food for us..."

Eric’s face darkened. He waved his hands to shoo them away, then patted Max below him, signaling him to leave quickly.

"I’m not sick; you guys only know how to eat." He said irritably.

Joseph patted Thomas’s back amusingly:

"Haha, you Snow Wolf people are so interesting. How co a forr chief like you is ignored by everyone?"

Thomas huffed irritably, striding forward. Joseph on his back was hit by cold wind filling his mouth due to the sudden acceleration, hurriedly burying himself in the animal skin.

Michael ran a few steps to catch up with Max, poking his head to say to Eric:

"Right, forgot to tell you sothing. A few days ago while patrolling, we slled a strong scent of blood from the east, ran over to check, and ended up picking up a group of Horned Goat people..."

"Cough... cough..." Eric was so astonished by this news that his mouth gaped open, resulting in choking on the cold wind.

After recovering, he hurriedly asked:

"What? Picked up what? And a whole group?"

Seeing his strong reaction, Michael’s voice involuntarily lowered a bit:

"Yeah, Horned Goat people, about over fifty of them. Their territory was invaded by a Whirlwind Lizard; more than half of the tribesn died or were injured, and the territory was occupied by it. They t us while fleeing."

"That’s right, the human you picked up is quite useful." Jessica also squeezed to the front, adding: "There was a Horned Goat person whose intestines were spilling out, almost stopped breathing, yet he used magic to save him."

It seed Evan’s magic had recovered quite a bit, able to heal even such a major wound. When they first t, he couldn’t even heal the scar on kid An’s face.

Wait, that wasn’t the main point. Eric shook his head:

"Whirlwind Lizard? What tier magic beast is this, why is it so formidable?"

Max’s deep voice ca from below:

"An immature Whirlwind Lizard is already tier seven; after maturing, it can reach the peak of tier eight. Their luck was too bad."

Michael’s voice also deepened:

"Heard that those Horned Goat people fought to the death to protect the cubs in the tribe, risking their lives to hold back the Whirlwind Lizard, thanks to which more than half the tribesn escaped. Their chief also died in battle."

Waves of discomfort rose in Eric’s heart. In this cruel world, beastn had to exhaust all their strength just to survive, yet still couldn’t change the damage brought by unexpected calamities.

Thomas halted; after hearing the whole story, he and Joseph on his back sank into a heavy atmosphere. The joy of returning with plentiful spoils vanished without a trace.

Suppressing their mood, the group hurried back. First, they placed the food in the cave, only leaving a little for recent consumption.

Eric told Kevin to lead Balu and Kiet, the two Ox-Head people, to his house first. After settling the guests, he and the others rushed to the tent area of the Horned Goat people.

This was where the Dwarves had stayed when they first arrived; fortunately, it hadn’t been dismantled, so now the Horned Goat people could stay imdiately. The Snow Wolf tribe had set up very large tents then; five tents were enough for about three hundred Dwarves to live in.

Now, over fifty Horned Goat people staying there was no problem. The injured were moved to Eric’s empty earthen house; otherwise, with this freezing weather, wounds would be hard to heal in tents.

Luci was walking out of a tent, frowning with worry. Looking up and seeing Eric’s group running over, travel-worn and tired, she said joyfully:

"Everyone’s back!"
