Chapter 198: Little Yu Lied
Qiu Xingyu saw that Qiu Xingyuan and Qiu Xingqiao were about to expose her. She hurried back to their side.
Silence filled the living room. Qiu Xingyu pouted and puffed up her cheeks as she quietly stepped on Qiu Xingyuan and Qiu Xingqiao’s feet.
Qiu Tong and Jin Yang smiled helplessly at her childish actions.
Qiu Xingyu rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand and deliberately pretended to be pitiful as she sat on the ground. She stared at Jin Yang bitterly and asked, “Uncle, do you not like ? We just want to complete our howork. If Uncle will be inconvenienced by this, I won’t ntion it again then…”
Jin Yang was completely defeated by her tactful move. He had no choice but to quickly agree to Little Yu’s request.
Jin Yang left the villa with the guards, while Qiu Tong sat on the sofa and patted the empty seat beside her. She waved Qiu Xingyu over and asked, “Howork?”
“The whole family has to go out this weekend, and you have to write a diary entry about it?”
“Didn’t Mommy say before that children are not allowed to lie? Little Yu… do you want to say sothing to Mommy?”
Qiu Tong was extrely patient. Her tone was gentle as she gave Qiu Xingyu a chance to explain. She did not directly reprimand or pressure her.
Qiu Xingyu lowered her head and looked at her fingers, not daring to look up at Qiu Tong.
After a while, she said in a soft voice, “I’m sorry, Mommy. I lied. The teacher didn’t give us such an assignnt.”
Qiu Tong frowned rather angrily, wanting to use a serious tone to remind her to be an honest child.
But in the next second, tears welled up in Qiu Xingyu’s eyes.
She pursed her lips aggrievedly and said in a choked voice, “I wanted Uncle to stay. Is that wrong?”
“I’m so envious of other children who have fathers! They all have fathers who send them to and fro the kindergarten. Their whole family goes out to play on the weekends…”
“But my brothers and I don’t have any such things! They bully us in the kindergarten and say that we are wild children that no one wants.”
Qiu Xingyu’s tears fell uncontrollably. Qiu Tong hugged her tenderly and patted her back guiltily.
It was all her fault. When the children were young, Qiu Tong did not create a warm and healthy family environnt for them.
“Eldest Brother wants to learn how to make dicine while Second Brother likes to fight. All so they can protect themselves and Little Yu!”
“We don’t have a father, so people often bully us! Little Yu just wants Uncle to spend a weekend with us.”
Qiu Xingyu poured out all her grievances. She hugged Qiu Tong’s neck and wailed.
Qiu Tong’s gaze landed on Qiu Xingyuan and Qiu Xingqiao. They clenched their small fists and looked away. “Not us!”
Although they denied it, Qiu Tong could still see the disappointnt in Qiu Xingyuan and Qiu Xingqiao’s eyes.
She gently patted Qiu Xingyu’s back to comfort her.
Qiu Tong looked at the folded paper dragonfly Jin Yang had made for Little Yu on the sofa. She frowned in thought. Song Yan’s status was very high, while she was just a commoner. They were people from two different worlds. They should not have t each other, but they ended up together by chance.
However, Song Yan was indeed very patient with the children. He always coaxed Little Yu gently and took special care to consider Qiu Xingyuan and Qiu Xingqiao’s pride and self-esteem.
Qiu Tong struggled and hesitated as she recalled the mories of their ti together. It seed like he didn’t dislike her either.
Perhaps, for the children’s sake, she could try… to make Song Yan their “father”?
