Chapter 194: Tricking Children
Qiu Xingyu tugged at Qiu Tong’s sleeve. She widened her black grape-like eyes and said, “It was Brother Ye Luan who saved us.”
“Uncle Ke Le told us to hide here and wait for them and Mommy to co back. They went to chase after the other baddies!”
Qiu Tong raised her hand and gently rubbed the top of Qiu Xingyu’s head. Qiu Tong’s heart ached when she saw the little girl still trying to be strong even when her face had already turned pale from fright.
She hugged Qiu Xingyuan and Qiu Xingqiao and said in a low voice, “Don’t be afraid, Mommy will protect you!”
Xiao Zhen did not expect the children to be so smart and bold. Even though his lie had been exposed, he was not the least bit embarrassed. Instead, he walked up to Qiu Tong and tried to worm his way into her good books. The president’s guards saw his actions and promptly held out their batons, gesturing for him to stay put.
Xiao Zhen’s eyes darted around. He recalled that he was not in the villa when the children were kidnapped.
Qiu Tong and her children would not recognize him. Xiao Zhen instantly put on a different expression and said, “Madam, I think your children are very smart and adorable. To be able to maintain such a clear-headed and calm state in such a dangerous environnt, it’s obvious that you have taught them well.”
“To be honest, I have so connections in the capital.”
“If you want the children to be better educated and have a more expansive developnt environnt, why don’t you consider coming to the capital with ?”
Xiao Zhen did not hide his motive at all. A mocking smile appeared on Qiu Tong’s face. Did this lieutenant take her for a fool?!
Qiu Tong shook her head. She said coldly, “Thank you for your kindness. We don’t need it.”
Xiao Zhen felt rather embarrassed by her rciless refusal. He imdiately turned hostile and asked, “Why? I protected the children and prevented the terrorists from harming them. I’m your benefactor!”
“Don’t you need to repay ?”
Qiu Tong was speechless at Xiao Zhen’s shalessness. Her eyes revealed a murderous glint as she said, “Protected the children?”
“The children all said that you wanted to kidnap them by force. I’m already being kind and forgiving by not calling the police and arresting you as an accomplice of the terrorists. Don’t test my tolerance anymore. It’s best not to continue tricking children on the streets.”
“Your pathetic lies are sullying my ears!”
Qiu Tong narrowed her eyes and looked at Xiao Zhen’s stunned and sheepish expression. She smirked and added. “Don’t let see you near the children again. Otherwise, no matter what intentions you have, I won’t let you off so easily like today!”
With an unfriendly expression, Qiu Tong carried Little Yu and held Qiu Xingyuan’s hand. They left.
Xiao Zhen stared at their backs and cursed with a dark expression, “What a troubleso fellow.”
“If she didn’t appear today, I would have already brought the children to the capital!”
Xiao Zhen turned around and saw that his subordinates’ faces were all bruised. He complained in disdain, “You are really a bunch of useless people.”
“You can’t even defeat a woman! Looks like we have to get rid of that woman first if we want to bring them to the capital.”
A murderous intent flashed across Xiao Zhen’s eyes. He wiped the corners of his lips with his fingers and said coldly, “If we turn the children into orphans, they won’t have a mother to rely on and will listen to us…”
