Chapter 159: No Reinforcents

The hooligans did not expect to et such a tough opponent. They could tell that Song Yan and his n were ard and that they were no match for them.

They had originally planned to retreat into the mountains and take advantage of the terrain to take a breather. They would wait for their injured n to recover before going down the mountain to counterattack.

But the hooligans did not expect Qiu Tong, Song Yan and their team to pursue them.

They had no choice but to try and hold back the enemy with artillery fire. Song Yan and his n were targeting the main escape route of the hooligans. Their firepower was concentrated and fierce. Song Yan arranged for one of his n to keep an eye on the three children. He then imdiately issued an order to find cover, stall and attract the enemy’s firepower.

Song Yan’s man hid the children under a safe rock bunker. He watched the intense battle, not wishing to be a babysitter.

“Hide here and don’t run around!”

With that, he stood up and rushed to the front line. Qiu Xingyuan and Qiu Xingqiao shielded Little Yu at the innermost part of the rock and stared warily at the surrounding movents.

Qiu Xingqiao noticed the few grenades on the ground. Hunching, he slipped over to pick them up.

“Elder Brother, we have to help too.”

Qiu Xingyuan nodded with a tense expression.

Qiu Xingyuan and Qiu Xingqiao had a comprehensive understanding of military equipnt so they knew how to use grenades. They used their short stature to evade the enemy’s notice and approached the hooligans’ hiding place. They threw the grenades…

Boom—

The grenades detonated one after another. The hooligans suffered heavy losses and the gunshots gradually died down.

Just as the children were rejoicing, they suddenly heard one of Song Yan’s subordinates running over. “Sir, the enemy in front of us has already retreated.”

“So of the enemies are fleeing in the direction of Qiu Tong. Her team doesn’t have that many n and we don’t know if they have enough guns and ammunition. Should we send a portion of our n over to support them?”

“It seems that the enemy wants to retreat to the vicinity of the mountaintop and use the height as an advantage before counterattacking.”

Another one of the subordinates objected. “We can’t stay here for too long. We have to chase after them and scatter them…”

Song Yan frowned as he thought about it. He knew Qiu Tong’s ability to analyze the situation. He determined that the hooligans were already in a panic and were unable to think straight now. If he sent his n over to reinforce Qiu Tong’s team now, it would very likely cause trouble for her instead.

Qiu Tong’s team had a few local soldiers who were familiar with the terrain of the mountains. They should be able to handle them.

“No need. Continue to search according to the original plan. Don’t leave a single enemy alive!”

Song Yan paused for a few seconds before giving the order.

Qiu Xingyuan, Qiu Xingqiao, and Little Yu were hiding behind a rock. When they heard Song Yan’s conversation with his subordinates, they imdiately beca nervous and worried.

“Will Mommy be in danger?”

Little Yu asked with teary eyes. Qiu Xingyuan also felt like his heart was being squeezed by two hands.

Qiu Xingqiao looked at the surrounding guards in silence. He suddenly said, “We have to help her.”

Little Yu also hurriedly nodded and said, “That’s right, Elder Brother. Let’s go help Mommy! Little Yu can throw bombs. I am very accurate!”

Qiu Xingyuan and Little Yu stared at Qiu Xingyuan nervously, waiting for him to make a decision.

Qiu Xingyuan nodded. “Alright.”

The three children quietly crouched down to avoid Song Yan’s subordinate’s line of sight. They ran in the direction of Qiu Tong along the small path behind the mountain.
