Chapter 126: Don’t Ask For Benefits
Mayor Shen was in a very bad mood because of Lin Shan’s nonsense. Now with Shu Xian’s greedy and straightforward demand for benefits, his expression darkened.
Mayor Shen rembered that Shu Xian had received the governnt order through Lin Shan’s introduction. He said in a harsh and official tone, “The governnt has arranged for that piece of land to be used by outstanding enterprises. It can only be allocated after a bidding process and vetting the qualifications of the enterprises.”
“We have no right to privately promise it to anyone. Mr. Shu Xian, please apply for this piece of land through proper channels.”
Shu Xian frowned. Was producing the protective apparatus not enough to give him the right to the land? He stared at Mayor Shen unhappily.
Mayor Shen pondered for a long ti before reminding, “The governnt will be increasingly strict with the corporate governance of companies. The managent of the company must abide by the law. I advise Mr. Shu Xian not to think of using nefarious thods to gain profits. Otherwise, once an investigation is carried out, we will definitely do things according to the law!”
When Shu Xian heard this, he imdiately nudged Lin Shan and asked in a low voice, “Didn’t you say that if we help the governnt we will definitely benefit in the future?”
“They are turning against now? What’s going on?”
Shu Xian was overwheld with anger and did not care that everyone at present could hear his questions. “You were the one who persuaded to accept the order.”
“These protective gear are not profitable at all. Hurry up and think of a way to persuade them to give that piece of land!”
At the bottom of the round table, Lin Shan gently kicked Shu Xian’s feet, wanting him to shut up.
However, Shu Xian did not react. Already drunk, he kept nagging at Lin Shan. She was so embarrassed that her face was flushed red. Her eyes flickered as she frowned.
Mayor Shen and Chief Officer Fang were both smart people. They imdiately saw through Lin Shan’s plan. She actually dared to use the governnt’s crisis to benefit herself. Glaring at Lin Shan, they cleared their throats, attracting Shu Xian’s attention.
Chief Officer Fang clenched his fists and put them to his lips. He frowned and said, “Don’t say anymore!”
“Not only is the protective gear made by the factory ineffective, it even hard the farrs and delayed their work…”
“As for Lin Shan, she slandered and spread rumors about governnt officials. I’ll keep these offences in mind for the ti being. If you dare to spout nonsense again, I’ll make you account for everything!”
Mayor Shen looked at Qiu Tong’s exceptionally calm expression and said on her behalf, “As for the locust pesticide, you don’t have to interfere anymore.”
“Miss Qiu Tong will settle it…”
When Shu Xian heard this, he raised his eyebrows in disdain. He put on a ruffian stance and picked up a piece of fatty at with his chopsticks, stuffing it into his mouth. He glanced at Qiu Tong, not believing that she could think of a solution.
“With her status as a single mother with no backing and no business?”
“Do you think she can solve such a big problem like the locust plague? How? With that glib tongue of hers?”
Shu Xian patted his own face and smiled. He asked, “Or with her face?”
“Who will help her?”
At this mont, the sound of a helicopter ca from outside the glass window of the hotel suite. Qiu Tong raised her wristwatch and calculated the ti. She said calmly, “Quite punctual.” As soon as she finished speaking, Mayor Shen and Chief Officer Fang stood up in shock and disbelief. They wished they could imdiately run out to take a look!
Could Qiu Tong have really gotten the helicopter to be sent over here?
