An Outer Peak has many Servant Stewards, but only two Blue-robed Stewards.

One oversees the records of servants in the Affairs Hall, while the other supervises areas like the Spirit Fields. Their status is very high.

"Steward Chang!"

Seeing this Blue-robed Steward, Huang Li jumped in fright. He quickly put away his Spirit Sword and put on an obsequious, fawning expression.

"What brings you to the Spirit Chicken Garden today? If you needed anything, you could have just summoned ."

Chang He flicked his sleeves, his expression ugly as he snorted, "If I hadn’t co, I’m afraid this Spirit Chicken Garden would have been ruined by your hands!"

"Of course not! I was just joking with this junior brother, just joking."

Huang Li forced a smile. The two servant disciples beside him also lowered their heads, not daring to make a sound.

Then, Chang He’s gaze fell upon Yu Changsheng.

Yu Changsheng cupped his fists and said, "Greetings, Steward Chang. I was late to feed the chickens today. It’s not Senior Brother Huang’s fault."

He had no intention of reporting him to Chang He. After all, Huang Li’s bullying of newcors was nothing new. It would be stranger if the steward didn’t know about it.

’Besides, you can never expect a leader to stick up for you...’

Hearing this, Chang He sized him up with so surprise and asked, "Have you been the one feeding the Spirit Chickens recently?"

Yu Changsheng didn’t understand the look in Chang He’s eyes, but he nodded nonetheless.

"Co inside with . Feed them once and let see." Chang He took out a Wooden Token, activated the Array, and a smile touched his lips.

Yu Changsheng found the request strange. ’Is there sothing special about the Spirit Chickens I’ve been feeding?’

Beside them, however, Huang Li felt a sense of foreboding.

After entering, Yu Changsheng skillfully picked up a small basin and fed the Spirit Chickens.

Seeing how calm and quiet the chickens were in their coop, not causing any trouble, Chang He was overjoyed.

For so ti now, the quality of the Spirit Chickens had been getting worse and worse. His superiors had expressed their dissatisfaction, and even Junior Martial Uncle Han, who had invested in the venture, had reprimanded him. There was a banquet for a Foundation Establishnt Daoist next month, and if the quality was still this poor, his contribution points for the year would be halved!

This had troubled Chang He for a long ti. He had been wondering whether to replace Huang Li and let soone else give it a try.

As for Huang Li’s brother, he had already given him enough face. He was just a talent from the Outer Sect; it wasn’t worth fawning over him at the cost of his own contribution points.

But recently, the Spirit Chickens being delivered had suddenly beco plump and healthy. Surprised and curious, Chang He had decided to make this trip today.

"Good, good, good." Chang He crouched down, examined the fiercest Spirit Chicken, and laughed heartily. Then he turned to Yu Changsheng and asked.

"I noticed your Divine Sense is quite expansive. Did you choose the Beast Taming Peak’s legacy?"

He had seen the earlier fight, so Yu Changsheng wasn’t surprised that he had guessed. He admitted it openly.

"No wonder. So Beast Masters have a real talent for animal husbandry. I’d feel at ease leaving this flock of Spirit Chickens in your care. If you can raise this one into a Spirit Chicken King by next month, I’ll reward you with a Spirit Enhancent Pill!" Chang He said, pointing to the fiercest Spirit Chicken.

The Spirit Enhancent Pill is a precious Cultivation Resource for Qi Refining Cultivators. A single pill is equivalent to several months of hard cultivation. Even the worst quality ones are worth over ten Lower Grade Spirit Stones on the outside!

A regular Spirit Chicken only costs a few Spirit Stones in the Marketplace, but a Spirit Chicken King is different. It’s rare for one to appear in a flock; it’s mostly up to luck. However, better rearing thods can indeed increase the chances.

A Spirit Chicken King is worth at least fifty Lower Grade Spirit Stones, which is why Chang He was willing to offer a Spirit Enhancent Pill. If he could cultivate just one, it would give him imnse face in front of Junior Martial Uncle Han!

Hearing this, Yu Changsheng didn’t imdiately agree. Instead, he subconsciously glanced at Huang Li.

Huang Li’s expression was grim. He clenched his fists, his eyes filled not only with jealousy but also with indignation.

’Why does this servant disciple get all the good things? On what grounds!’

He turned his head to look at Yu Changsheng and snorted coldly.

’A Spirit Chicken King isn’t that easy to raise anyway. If he manages it and gets the reward, he’s still under my authority. Taking care of him would be a simple matter.’

’The Spirit Enhancent Pill will be mine in the end!’

But when Chang He saw this, how could he not understand what Huang Li was thinking? His face imdiately darkened.

’These Spirit Chickens are tied to my own prospects. If I keep Huang Li here and the chickens aren’t raised well, wouldn’t all my efforts be for nothing?’

So he said, "Huang Li, give him the Array Wooden Token. From now on, you don’t need to co to the Spirit Chicken Garden anymore. I will find another miscellaneous task for you."

Hearing this, Huang Li’s fantasies were shattered. His expression changed drastically, and he quickly said, "Steward Chang, he’s just a newly-joined servant! How could he possibly manage the Spirit Chickens well? It’s much more reliable to have here."

"That won’t be necessary," Chang He said indifferently. "Give him the Array Wooden Token."

’Reliable or not, how could I, a Blue-robed Steward, not know? Other matters can be negotiated, but the Spirit Chicken Garden is non-negotiable!’

Huang Li didn’t dare to disobey. He could only glare at Yu Changsheng, gritting his teeth as he handed over the Array Wooden Token.

"Alright, that’s enough for today. I hope you won’t disturb him from feeding the Spirit Chickens again." Chang He waved his hand, dismissing Huang Li, and then said to Yu Changsheng.

"If you need anything, you can find at the Miscellaneous Hall."

"Yes, Steward Chang."

Yu Changsheng watched him leave, glanced at the Wooden Token, and thought to himself.

’I just made Huang Li lose his job. He probably won’t let this go. I’ll have to be more careful when I go out from now on.’

His current strength was enough to deal with Huang Li alone, but if three to five of them ganged up on him, he wouldn’t be able to win.

’In the end, I just don’t have enough tricks up my sleeve.’

With that thought, he looked at the fiercest Spirit Chicken. He crouched down, and as soon as he touched it, a piece of information popped up.

[Spirit Beast Transformation]

[Normal Spirit Chicken → Spirit Chicken King]

[Essence Required: 655]

This ant that turning it into a Spirit Chicken King would only take a slight nudge of Yu Changsheng’s will.

However, Yu Changsheng had no intention of transforming it right now.

’655 Essence points... I can gather that in five days. A month is more than enough ti. It’s enough for to beco stronger than Huang Li!’

Yu Changsheng stood up and allocated all 135 Essence points he had gained from today’s feeding to the Refining God Technique, thinking with confidence.

’Just hope you don’t fall into my hands.’

Perhaps due to Chang He’s warning, Yu Changsheng’s journey from the Spirit Chicken Garden back to his courtyard was uneventful.

But upon entering the courtyard, he was imdiately surrounded by a group of servant disciples. They weren’t there to attack him, but to congratulate him.

"Junior Yu, HA HA HA! I knew you had talent and would make sothing of yourself! This is just a small token from your senior brother. Don’t forget when you’ve made it big!"

"Ah, Junior Yu, you don’t need to water your Spirit Field anymore. Steward Chang said you should focus on feeding the Spirit Chickens. The Spirit Field has been assigned to my na now. When it’s ti to harvest, I’ll send you a bag of Spirit Rice to try!"

"This is a new copy of ’Spring Travel Record’ I bought. Junior Yu, take a look tonight. It’s a hobby for us kindred spirits!"

"Junior Yu, if you get rich and famous, don’t forget about us!"

Yu Changsheng smiled and responded to each of them until he was exhausted. When he returned to his wooden hut and closed the door, his hands were full of things.

The servant disciples who had previously given him the cold shoulder were now incredibly enthusiastic.

This world was truly fickle; the wheels of fortune were always turning.
