Chapter 89: Lolok Said: Foolish Cassius! You’ve Completely Dood It!

When Lynn was conversing with Erica—

Cassius’s situation wasn’t any better.

He had been in a good mood, ready to receive Servan’s paynt of two hundred human lives.

Then suddenly—

A terrified scream broke through Cassius’s pleasant daydream.

It was that noisy Heart-Eroding Leech—Lolok!

Its oily carapace trembled violently.

The resentnt in its tiny eyes was replaced by pure, extre terror!

“There’s a powerful aura bursting out from inside the city!”

“My larvae sensed a fluctuation of at least Fifth-tier strength!”

At this,

Cassius replied impatiently with a sneer, “Tch~ what are you panicking for?”

“Fifth-tier experts are rare, sure, but the Empire is enormous. What’s so strange about one or two showing up?”

He thought that he himself was close to advancing to a Fifth-tier Lich.

So Fifth-tier didn’t seem that terrifying.

But Lolok rolled its eyes disdainfully, filled with contempt. “You know nothing, fool!”

“I don’t have ti to argue with you. I must report this to Lord lunus at once!”

It turned to activate so kind of communication thod.

Seeing this, the soul fire in Cassius’s eyes suddenly contracted!

Report to lunus?

That couldn’t happen!

Wouldn’t that expose his embezzlent of sacrifices and secret dealings?

The Rotting Lord was already dissatisfied with him.

If he found out about these things, he’d crush him without hesitation!

“Stop!” Cassius barked harshly.

With a sweep of his withered hand—

A chilling surge of black death energy coiled toward Lolok, interrupting its action.

“Who gave you permission to report on your own~!”

Bound by deathly aura, Lolok struggled but couldn’t break free. It trembled with fury. “Cassius! You dare stop ?”

“This is of utmost importance! If we delay Lord lunus’s affairs, both of us will die!”

Cassius stepped closer, his aura cold and oppressive. “Don’t use lunus to threaten !”

“What does the appearance of a Fifth-tier have to do with anything? Explain yourself clearly!”

He had realized—

That stupid bug was clearly hiding so crucial information!

However—

Lolok only clamped its mouth shut tightly.

Its small eyes were filled with ridicule and scorn, refusing to speak.

It only repeated, “You’re not worthy to know! Let report!”

Thus, the situation fell into deadlock.

One tried desperately to stop the tattling.

The other struggled frantically to report.

A monster and an insect tangled in a furious scuffle inside the cellar.

And just then—

A wave of imnse, unmatched power suddenly descended from all directions, locking tightly onto the cellar!

Each aura carried the distinctive might of a Fourth-tier powerhouse!

There were ten of them in total!

Cassius and Lolok’s expressions changed drastically!

“Who is it?!” Cassius roared, shocked and furious.

He instinctively assud Servan was behind this, cursing aloud, “Damn that fat pig Servan!”

“Just because I raised the price by another hundred lives, you turn on and send people to besiege us?”

“You really have no tolerance as a human traitor!”

But in the next mont, he realized—no, that couldn’t be right.

Servan didn’t have that kind of strength.

And one of them even possessed peak Fourth-tier power, almost equal to his own!

In a flash of realization, a ridiculous thought shot through Cassius’s mind, forcing him to blurt out—

“It’s Erica!”

“She’s joined hands with Servan?!”

How could that be possible?

Weren’t those two just fighting to the death not long ago?

How could they suddenly ally against him?

Only Lolok looked utterly despairing, as if saying, “I knew it would co to this.”

It shrieked, “Idiot! It’s all your fault for not letting notify Lord lunus!”

“Now look what’s happened! The humans are here to silence us!”

“They must be afraid that the news of the Fifth-tier will spread!”

Silence us?

Cassius instantly caught the keyword, his heart jolting in horror!

That damn bug—so it had hidden vital information from him!

This must be connected to so taboo between the humans and the undead high command!

But there was no ti to think now!

The cellar entrance exploded into rubble, stones scattering in all directions.

Ten powerful figures surged in, encircling Cassius and Lolok completely.

At the forefront stood the strongest among Erica’s subordinates—the Man in Black!

The three Fourth-tier knights under Servan were also among them.

“Kill!” the Man in Black ordered curtly.

In an instant—

Battle aura and magic surged wildly...

Various attacks poured down like a torrential storm—

All aid straight at the two undead creatures in the cellar’s center!

The top combatants of Lemon Port were going all out, clearly determined to eliminate them in the shortest ti possible!

Cassius cursed bitterly and swung his bone staff, summoning a pale green necrotic shield.

But under concentrated fire, the shield quaked violently, cracks appearing in seconds.

He, as a typical undead mage-turned-lich, excelled in necromancy and curses, but his close defense was abysmal!

He was shaken so hard that his soul fire flickered and dimd, suffering internal damage.

Lolok fared even worse.

It only had Third-tier strength—facing Fourth-tier powerhouses, it didn’t even have a chance to resist.

Its shell was instantly shredded, green bodily fluid splattering everywhere as it let out a shrill, agonized scream.

“At this rate, we’ll both die for sure!”

A fierce glint flashed through Cassius’s eyes.

He needed a massive amount of life energy to forcibly break through his bottleneck!

Only by advancing to Fifth-tier could he have a sliver of hope!

And outside the city, in the refugee district—there were plenty of sick and abandoned refugees!

He had avoided them earlier for fear of drawing attention, but now he couldn’t care less!

Just as a sharp blade of light from the Man in Black was about to cleave into him—

Cassius suddenly grabbed the struggling Lolok beside him.

Using all his strength, he hurled it hard toward the fiercest point of attack!

At the sa ti, he shouted hoarsely, “The source of the parasitic plague is it! That damned bug! Kill it and the plague will end!”

The effect was imdiate!

The attackers’ assault faltered for a mont.

Most of their eyes and killing blows instantly shifted toward the tossed Lolok, used as a at shield.

The parasitic plague was currently Lemon Port’s biggest problem—if it could truly be eradicated at its source...

Poor Lolok.

It didn’t even manage to utter a single curse.

Under the full-powered strikes of several Fourth-tier experts, it was reduced to a puddle of mush.

A miserable, pitiful death.

And taking advantage of that mont—

Cassius endured a strike from the Man in Black, his shoulder bone fracturing with a sharp crack.

But using that force, he transford into a streak of black smoke, bursting through the broken ceiling of the cellar—

And fled madly toward the outskirts of the city, where countless refugees were gathered!

“Chase him! Don’t let him escape!”

The Man in Black was the first to react—

His figure flashed like lightning, darting out in pursuit.

The other powerhouses soon followed, each unleashing their ans to hunt him down.
