"Why are you looking at like that?" Lin Li asked, confused after Su Yue shot him a glare.
"It’s nothing! Let’s walk a little faster..." Su Yue said, quickening her pace to catch up with the passengers ahead.
’What’s with this woman... Why’d she glare at for no reason?’ a confused Lin Li grumbled to himself, then hurried to keep up with Su Yue.
After all the passengers had boarded, Chen Jack returned to the cockpit. He pressed a button on one of the instrunts before him, picked up the microphone, and said, "Ladies and gentlen, the ship is about to depart.
Before we set sail, I want to remind everyone one more ti: safety is our top priority on this voyage. Please make sure your life jackets are on securely."
As soon as he finished speaking, the engine’s RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE suddenly roared to life, and Chen Jack began steering the ship out toward the vast, boundless sea.
A total of twenty-five passengers had signed up for the deep-sea sightseeing tour. As the ship pulled away from the dock, the passengers on deck, all wearing life jackets, took out their phones and began taking pictures or recording videos of the surrounding scenery.
After checking that his own life jacket was fastened correctly, Lin Li glanced over at Su Yue, who was taking pictures of the seagulls flying in the sky. He noticed that a buckle on her life jacket wasn’t fastened, and imdiately spoke up.
"Su Yue, one of the buckles on your life jacket is undone. You need to take this seriously!"
Su Yue, who was busy photographing the gulls, heard him and muttered that one unfastened buckle was no big deal, even as she fastened it.
"The area where we’re going to dive and sightsee is over a hundred kiloters from the coast.
If the ship were to capsize by so accident, this life jacket is the only thing that could save our lives. You can’t be careless about it," Lin Li, who always prioritized safety, said to Su Yue earnestly.
After all, if sothing happened to the ship, he could at least take refuge on the Mysterious Small Island, but Su Yue wouldn’t have that option. That was why he reminded her to wear her life jacket properly.
Su Yue glanced around. Seeing that the other passengers were all engrossed in taking pictures or videos with their phones and hadn’t heard what Lin Li just said, she quickly told him,
"Keep your voice down! Don’t say such unlucky things when we’re out at sea... If other people hear you, they’ll get angry."
"Uh..." Lin Li nodded and stopped talking about the ship capsizing.
"CAW! CAW! CAW!"
A flock of seagulls followed the ship, letting out a series of sharp cries.
Captain Jack steered the ship for over an hour, bringing the passengers to the destination for their diving tour.
By now, the passengers on the ship could no longer see the coastline at all. All around them, as far as the eye could see, was an endless expanse of azure sea.
Aside from the occasional fish leaping from the water, there were only the seabirds circling overhead.
"Ladies and gentlen, we’ve arrived at our destination. Next, I will use my Superpower to take you all on a tour under the sea," Chen Jack said to the passengers with a cheerful smile as he erged from the cockpit.
"Lin Li, we’re finally about to go on our underwater tour!" Su Yue said excitedly.
Hearing this, Lin Li looked at Captain Jack, also feeling a bit of anticipation to see him display his Superpower and grant every passenger the ability to move freely underwater.
However, things didn’t go as everyone expected. This ti, Captain Jack did not use his Superpower to grant the passengers the ability to move freely underwater.
"Ladies and gentlen, this ti I won’t be using my Superpower to grant each of you the ability to move freely underwater," Captain Jack, dressed in a floral shirt, said to the passengers.
"Captain Jack, why not?" Hearing this, the passengers on the ship were all greatly surprised.
So of them were quite unhappy about this, but they didn’t voice their complaints imdiately. Instead, they waited for Captain Jack’s explanation. If his explanation wasn’t satisfactory, it wouldn’t be too late to express their dissatisfaction then.
"Here’s the thing. Yesterday, so passengers didn’t follow the rules. They swam off on their own at the bottom of the sea and got swept away by an undercurrent. If I hadn’t found them in ti, they would have ended up as fish food at the bottom of the ocean.
After that incident, I thought about it all night. For everyone’s safety, I’ve decided that for my underwater tour project from now on, I will no longer use my Superpower to grant people the ability to move freely underwater..." Captain Jack explained.
The passengers were speechless, looking at each other in dismay when they heard his explanation. So of them spoke up to reassure Captain Jack.
"Captain Jack, don’t do this! Those people were those people. We won’t break your rules. We definitely won’t wander off once we’re underwater."
"That’s right! We’re not like those people who don’t follow the rules and don’t care about their own safety."
The passengers all spoke up, trying to assure Captain Jack, but after yesterday’s incident, he was still shaken.
He was running a business, and if a custor lost their life because they didn’t follow the rules, he, as the owner, would still have to bear so of the responsibility. So, his mind was made up.
"Captain Jack, if you’re not going to use your Superpower to give us the ability to move freely in the sea, then how are we supposed to do the tour?" Su Yue asked.
Captain Jack turned to look at Su Yue and explained with a smile, "Ma’am, although I’ve made so changes, it won’t prevent everyone from enjoying the underwater tour."
