The horned beast charged through the forest like a battering ram.

Trees shook as it thundered forward.

The distance between it and the sprites vanished rapidly.

Ethan imdiately focused on the battlefield.

This was his first real fight.

And unlike the rabbit from before, this creature was clearly dangerous.

The Fire Sprite reacted first.

A spark shot from its hand.

The attack struck the beast's shoulder.

A small burn mark appeared.

Nothing more.

The creature didn't even slow down.

A second later, it crashed into the front line.

Several Elentless Sprites were thrown into the air.

One slamd into a tree.

Another rolled across the ground.

The formation instantly collapsed.

Ethan's expression tightened.

The difference in strength was obvious.

The beast wasn't stronger by a small amount.

It was stronger by a lot.

Fortunately, the sprites weren't ordinary animals.

The mont they recovered, dozens rushed forward again.

The horned beast swung its head.

A sprite was struck directly.

Its body burst into particles of light.

Gone.

Permanently.

Ethan's heart sank.

The first casualty.

The beast didn't stop.

Another swipe.

Another sprite died.

The surrounding sprites hesitated.

For the first ti, fear appeared among them.

The creature roared.

The sound echoed throughout the forest.

Then sothing unexpected happened.

The Water Sprite stepped forward.

Blue light gathered around its body.

The nearby spring water it normally used wasn't available here.

Yet faint moisture still existed in the air.

Tiny droplets began gathering around it.

The droplets ford a small sphere of water.

Then the Water Sprite launched it.

Splash.

The attack struck the beast's face.

No damage.

But the creature flinched.

Its charge slowed.

At the sa mont, the Fire Sprite attacked.

A spark struck the wet fur.

A faint burst of steam erupted.

The beast growled angrily.

Ethan blinked.

The attacks themselves weren't powerful.

But together...

they had produced a better result.

Below, the Air Sprite leapt from a branch.

A gust of wind struck the beast's eyes.

The Earth Sprite followed imdiately.

A jagged stone shot upward from the ground.

The attack clipped one of the creature's legs.

The beast stumbled.

Just for a second.

But a second was enough.

The surrounding sprites surged forward.

Dozens grabbed its legs.

Others climbed its back.

Several began striking wildly.

The beast roared in fury.

Its body shook violently.

Sprites were thrown everywhere.

Yet the opportunity had already been created.

The Fire Sprite climbed onto the creature's neck.

Tiny sparks erupted repeatedly.

Again.

Again.

Again.

The attacks were weak.

Individually aningless.

But there were many of them.

Eventually, the horned beast began slowing.

Its movents beca sluggish.

Blood dripped from dozens of small wounds.

The Water Sprite launched another water sphere.

The Air Sprite struck its eyes again.

The Earth Sprite attacked its legs.

And the Fire Sprite continued burning the sa injured spot.

The battle lasted nearly ten minutes.

Then the beast finally collapsed.

The ground trembled beneath its weight.

Silence filled the forest.

For several monts, nobody moved.

Then a notification appeared.

Combat Complete.

Ethan exhaled slowly.

They had won.

Barely.

His gaze swept across the battlefield.

The victory felt far less glorious than he had imagined.

Several sprites were injured.

Two had died.

The remaining sprites looked exhausted.

The cost had been real.

Still, the battle had revealed sothing important.

The elental sprites were far more valuable than he had expected.

Not because they were individually powerful.

They weren't.

But because they could work together.

Water.

Fire.

Air.

Earth.

Separately, they were weak.

Together, they had turned the battle.

Ethan opened his status panel.

Only a little.

But it had increased.

For the first ti, he had made progress toward advancent.

Below, the surviving sprites slowly gathered around the fallen beast.

The Fire Sprite sat on top of the corpse proudly.

The Water Sprite seed exhausted.

The Earth Sprite imdiately began inspecting the creature.

The Air Sprite climbed a nearby tree to keep watch.

Ethan smiled faintly.

The battle had been ssy.

Dangerous.

Costly.

But it had proven one thing.

His civilization could fight.

And this was only the beginning.

Far away, deeper within Planet 042's endless forest, unseen eyes watched the battlefield.

The death of the horned beast had not gone unnoticed.

Sothing stirred in the shadows.

Sothing stronger.

Much stronger.

And it was heading toward Ethan's sprites.
