"What?" Ray looked up at her with raised eyebrows, as if he were clueless about what she was sensing inside the table.
After all, she was from the Devil Dao, and she quickly composed herself, taking a deep breath before looking back at Ray and bowing her head.
"Can you grant us power?"
Ray paused, his pupils gleaming with a blend of crimson and gold. He then shook his head with a hint of regret, speaking with a sadistic smirk:
"I thought you were attracted to my handso face and ca to , but it turns out you're just like that unfilial disciple, Luo Shouchun, who only wanted to use to gain power."
He spoke in a broken voice, sobbing with tears in his eyes.
Only a fool would believe this guy! The woman with ssy hair grumbled inwardly, cursing him.
"Please, Lord Ray, as long as you allow us to gain power, we will do anything."
"Anything?" Ray's voice turned chilling, sending a shiver down the spines of the eight won.
"Yes, anything is possible, Lord Ray."
The leading woman spoke with fervor.
"Haha, good, good. Then die." Ray's words echoed, and the very fabric of reality began to distort.
The eight won were montarily trapped in a trance. When they opened their eyes again, they found themselves before a giant, sitting on a throne made of blood and bones.
His divine eyes were fixed on them.
"What makes you think a group of tiny ants could have any value to ?"
He spoke lightly, and in that mont, the world and the universe seed insignificant before him. It was as if with a flick of his finger, he could destroy the entire cosmos.
The eight won kneeled simultaneously, bowing their heads in reverence.
"My lord, master, we will follow you wholeheartedly as the prophecy foretold. You are our true god, and I, Yi Xiang, will follow and beco your devotee for life."
Her eyes were filled with tears as she spoke with deep devotion.
The other seven followed suit, banging their heads with equal passion.
Ray, watching this, was montarily stunned. His puzzled gaze rested on the eight won.
Although he intended for this effect to be perfect—almost too effective—the reality blurred once again for the eight won, and they slowly awoke in the real world.
Yi Xiang looked at Ray, but now her gaze was different… it was filled with pure fanaticism and unwavering faith.
Despite using tricks, Ray had not made any direct ntal suggestions to the won, as he couldn't due to their high-tier cultivation. Moreover, he wanted to experint with Faith, so he abstained from using external ans, relying only on the illusion.
It seed that his approach had worked perfectly.
Ray observed with his divine eyes, yet he couldn't see it directly. Still, he could feel a faint, strange energy emanating from the won—sothing unlike anything he had ever sensed before.
This strange energy was static and unmoving, carrying a will of its own. Even when Ray tried to absorb it, he couldn't.
The only reason he was able to sense it was due to the "resonance" with the divine tree within his inner world. The two seed to share a bond, a longing to unite, yet at the sa ti, they tried to pull away from each other.
Ray attempted to use this resonance to absorb the energy, but every ti it reached him, it instantly dissolved.
"I'm so close yet so far," he muttered, shaking his head with a sigh. His guess had been correct: he would need to reach at least Tier Thirteen before he could even make contact with this elusive energy.
Actually, Ray wanted to find a stable energy that could be registered in the system and used without requiring other releases, and this Fate energy seed perfect for that purpose.
This Fate energy had a will of its own. If he could refine it and align it with his own will, the benefits would be imnse. Eventually, he could even incorporate Mutation Energy and Chaos Qi into it, forming his own unique energy.
But for this plan to co to fruition, he would still need to reach Tier Thirteen, which left him feeling inevitably frustrated.
Ray turned his attention to the Devil Dao woman, who were still bowing their heads.
"Tell about your so-called prophecy," he commanded.
"Yes, Master Ray." Yi Xiang trembled, then began recounting the tale with haste.
After hearing the prophecy, Ray's expression grew oddly thoughtful.
'Why does this sound so familiar?' His otaku brain imdiately kicked into overdrive, rapidly connecting the dots and digging through his mories to find the plot he was searching for.
The prophecy spoke of a young man who would rise above all odds, overcoming any perilous situation that stood in his way.
And then, he would achieve what no one had ever accomplished—surpassing Tier Thirteen and becoming the one to challenge and overthrow the heavenly dao. He would be the pinnacle of their world, capable of trampling both heaven and earth.
Even his re presence would cause visions like what the woman saw to appear.
Obviously, Ray wouldn't think this was about him. He wasn't even from this world. But for this woman of the Devil Dao, they might be ignorant of the wider world. After all, they were excluded and not privy to higher news.
So, they innocently believed that he was the one!
Oh, how cute, he thought, smiling as he looked at them. He quickly made them stand up.
"You look more beautiful when you stand. Never bow your head to anyone, got it?"
"Ye… yes," they stamred.
Yi Xiang looked as cute as a kitten, though it felt wrong to think of her that way. Ray treated her very gently. She was his woman, and he was soone who never mistreated those close to him.
"Co out from under the table, Xiao Yu and Shi Lin. et your sister."
A strange, masculine scent filled the air as the two raised their heads. Their cheeks were rosy, and their eyes were filled with lust, gazing at him with desire.
