I Slay Gods and Demons in the Deceit Night Chapter 316 - 224: The Second Brother is Truly a Genius!
Today, Little White Ape took a turn as Wu Chang, heading to the Linjiang Station to oversee the situation.
This little fellow had received a spirit possession from Lin Yan.
It could almost be considered another Lin Yan, though it also retained its own bloodline and original temperant, which made it sowhat different.
Even at Linjiang Station, functioning as Wu Chang, it handled matters thoroughly.
"Master, now within the inner city, all the major families and various powers have been subdued,"
Little White Ape whispered, "But this ti, it was the Observatory and the City Guard Mansion working together that suppressed them! Therefore, both within the Observatory and the City Guard Mansion, using power for personal gain has actually increased..."
"The inner workings of the Observatory are already being personally handled by the Commander."
"It’s the City Guard Mansion, on the other hand, where the Great City Guard has once again secluded himself, seemingly unwilling to get involved."
"We need to think of a way to give them a warning!"
Listening to Little White Ape’s report, Lin Yan nodded slightly, "Understood."
He then returned ho, still in his own appearance.
As soon as he pushed open the courtyard door, he noticed a new well in the yard.
The well was covered, but a bamboo tube extended from it to the edge of a water jar.
Around the well, a wooden fra about two people tall was erected.
Attached to the fra was a thick wooden stick, extending downward.
The little girl was holding the stick, humming and heaving, lifting it up then pushing it down rhythmically.
Every ti she lifted and pushed, the rope underneath the fra would roll.
There seed to be a bucket in the well which, when she pushed, hit the well cover and flipped over.
The water in the bucket poured out, sliding along the bamboo tube, gushing out and falling into the water jar.
After the little girl lifted and pushed the stick a few tis, the water jar was full.
"Little brother, see how aweso I am?"
Lin Xiaoyue let go of the stick, struck a martial stance, and, gritting her teeth, said, "I’m a martial arts prodigy, I can beat three of you!"
Sitting on the ground playing with mud, Lin Xiaonian, without looking up or responding, suddenly clapped his hands.
His hands, covered in mud, smacked together producing a loud splat, splashing mud all over his face and clothes.
"For a female martial arts prodigy like you, your mom could beat ten!"
Seeing this, Lin Yan interjected, "You keep playing like that, look at Xiaonian covered in mud, when your mom gets back, won’t she flip out?"
"Ah, Little Piglet is back!"
The little girl cheered and jogged over, and then jumped up.
Lin Yan reached out and caught her, just as muddy Lin Xiaonian staggered over.
He was then halted by Lin Yan’s hand, pressing on his thin-haired little head, pushing him three feet away.
"Look at you covered in mud, co wash up first."
Soon after, the Lin Family was filled with screams like those at a pig slaughter.
Lin Yan washed the little one clean, his thods a bit rough.
He then washed the muddy clothes as well, handing them to the little girl to hang on the clothesline.
"I don’t want to hang clothes, I want to train martial arts," Lin Xiaoyue humd and clenched her fists.
"Think it over, little uncle here has a bag of Essence Boosting Pills, which cost quite a few Silver Tael, bought from Grandpa Lu," Lin Yan said calmly, "These were specially made by him for children, they can boost Qi-Blood and accelerate martial training without affecting your growth."
"Are they sweet?" Lin Xiaoyue’s eyes lit up.
"Aren’t you focused on martial arts training? These things are useful for your training, why care if they’re sweet or not?" Lin Yan was taken aback.
"Not sweet?" Lin Xiaoyue imdiately shook her head, indicating she was a steadfast martial arts prodigy who did not need dicine to beco a master.
"They’re sweet," Lin Yan said.
"Mom said, sweets cause cavities, affecting my martial arts future," Lin Xiaoyue reassured herself, a steadfast martial arts prodigy, swallowing her saliva but still choosing to firmly refuse.
How could a re bag of sugar pills sway a martial arts prodigy to hang clothes?
"Grandpa Lu gave three bags," Lin Yan added.
"Uncle, I’ll help you wash the clothes," the little girl scampered over excitedly.
"They’re already washed."
Lin Yan tapped her forehead, saying, "You little greedy ghost, hang the clothes and I’ll give you the Essence Boosting Pills later."
It wasn’t long before his second brother pushed open the courtyard door and entered.
"Yan, when did you get back?"
Lin Lei, holding two paper-wrapped packages and a flask of wine, seeing Lin Yan, appeared surprised and said with a smile, "It must be the sll that brought you back."
"It seems that second brother already knew I was coming back, hence prepared the wine and dishes," Lin Yan turned his head, grinning.
"You wish, you wouldn’t get this treatnt if you just returned ho. These are roast chicken and big pork knuckle, bought from Qing Shan District," Lin Lei said, chuckling, "It’s winter now, every year during this festival, sister always cos to visit, bringing us so clothing, I figured she should be arriving today."
Lin Yan laughed and nodded, "That makes sense; I’m lucky to be back. It’s been a while since I last saw sister."
Before he had awakened his latent wisdom, although their family had been poor, his parents were loving and his siblings got along well, which was quite rare.
The Yu Family, whom sister had married into, was a minor clan, but still one of the inner-city families, considered a high match.
Although the two families didn’t interact much, the sentint remained, and just the construction of this current house was funded with silver from the Yu Family.
Though the Yu Family had so inner-city family pride, not really respecting the Lin Family’s poor relatives, they always provided so help to the Lin siblings.
