With a single, decisive stroke, Jake brought the sword down, cleanly severing the Asura King's head. A rush of dark purple-red blood gushed from the wound, pooling around the fallen body.

He bent down, lifting the severed head with so effort.

"This guy's head is heavy as hell… How much did he weigh?" Jake muttered, shaking his head before storing it in his inventory.

The mont the head vanished, Excalibur began to shift, dark energy swirling around its form until it fully transford into Guida.

"Master…"

Jake sighed as he dropped onto the ground, catching his breath. "Guida… You decided to show up today."

"I could feel it… The fear, the anxiety. You were battered," Guida murmured as she moved behind him, wrapping her arms around his neck.

Jake exhaled sharply. "Honestly, I have no idea how I won. That bastard was a monster. None of my usual techniques worked." He shook his head, still processing the battle.

But Guida only chuckled, tracing slow circles on his chest with her finger.

"He was nothing more than an ant compared to my lord," she whispered. "You only felt that way because, in this reincarnation, you haven't fought soone of that caliber before. Besides, you still haven't fully honed your abilities."

Jake let out a dry laugh. "An ant? That was a top-tier God Slayer, Guida. I barely kept up with him using sixty percent of my power. Stop trying to flatter ."

"I dare not make fun of my lord." Her voice was firm, but there was amusent beneath it. "You may believe you're only at sixty percent, but do you realize how much of a difference even one percent makes at your level? You don't fully understand what your complete power is yet."

She leaned closer. "For example, you couldn't cut through the Asura King's skin with your blood attacks at first. But when you were pushed to the brink, when you felt true danger—you broke past your current limit. Your aura was suddenly sharp enough to cut through him like butter. And let's not forget… his defense was awful."

Jake frowned. "Still, why couldn't I cut through him while using you at the start?"

Guida smirked. "Because you weren't using properly."

"…That sounds kind of lewd."

Before Guida could respond, a new voice rang in Jake's head.

{Master, may I devour his body?}

Jake coughed. 'Ahem… Sure.'

At his approval, Mimi's figure materialized in the air, hovering. The mont Guida saw her, she scowled.

"This thing again?"

"I'm not a thing!" Mimi snapped, and just like that, the two began growling at each other.

Jake sighed, ignoring their antics—until sothing caught his attention. A strange distortion flickered several ters away, warping the air unnaturally. His gaze sharpened.

"Mimi… Any idea what that is?"

Mimi's expression changed instantly. "Shit… That's a rift. And not just any rift—this type is used by the gods!" She disappeared back into Jake's head in an instant.

Guida hesitated for a mont before following suit, shifting back into Excalibur.

Without wasting another second, Jake retrieved a small device from his inventory and crushed it in his hand. In an instant, space twisted around him, pulling his figure away.

The mont Jake left, the rift expanded, stretching wider until it reached the size of a well-ring.

Then, a figure erged.

A towering presence, standing at least two ters tall, wrapped from head to toe in strange bandage-like material. With each step forward, divine energy pulsed from his body, warping the very air around him.

'Mmm… Sothing is off.' The figure hovered above the battlefield, scanning his surroundings. 'Craters… Ki residue… And the foul stench of blood. Did a battle take place here recently?'

His eyes narrowed as he flew toward the source of his suspicions.

"Unbelievable…" the god muttered as he landed a few ters away from the Asura King's lifeless body. His eyes widened in disbelief.

'Is this really the Asura King's body? Or just another Asura?' His mind raced, but there was only one way to be sure.

A spear began to materialize in his grasp, its form shimring with divine energy. Gripping it tightly, he raised it high, the tip gleaming ominously before he brought it down with imnse force.

*CLANG!*

The mont the spear's tip struck the Asura King's body, it rebounded violently, flinging itself away as if repelled by an unseen force. The sheer impact sent a shockwave through the air.

The god took a step back, eyes wide with horror.

"No way… HE IS THE ONE!" His voice trembled. "BUT HOW? EVEN A DEMON-TIER SPEAR CAN'T PIERCE HIS SKIN?"

He quickly dismissed the weapon, his body beginning to shiver.

'Whatever killed him is far more dangerous… This doesn't feel like the work of a god. No, this is sothing else. A god slayer.' Explore more adventures at My Virtual Library Empire

Wasting no ti, he turned and tore open a rift in space.

"I must inform the higher-ups imdiately."

Back at Edgar Frost's base, Jake stepped out of the warper and was imdiately t with the sight of Edgar pacing restlessly in front of it. The mont Edgar saw him, his eyes lit up.

"You're back! How did it go?" he asked eagerly, scanning Jake's empty hands.

Jake didn't reply. Instead, the Asura King's severed head materialized in his grip, and without a word, he tossed it toward Edgar.

Edgar caught it mid-air, his fingers tightening around it as he examined the grueso trophy. His gaze flickered between the head and Jake.

"No way… IMPOSSIBLE!" he muttered, failing to hide his shock.

"To be honest, that mission was a damn death wish," Jake admitted. "That guy was insanely strong. But in the end, his arrogance and underestimation were his downfall."

Edgar exhaled, shaking his head. "I've sent so of the most powerful people after him, but they always ca back missing limbs… or worse, torsos. He saw them as nothing. If only he had known you were different."

Jake snorted, brushing off the weight of the battle. "Even if he had taken seriously, he would've died either way." His voice was confident, but deep down, he still felt the lingering chill of how close he'd co to death.

As they stepped out of the lab and into the living quarters, a sudden blur shot toward Jake.

Ophelia.

Before he could react, she threw herself into his arms, nearly knocking him off balance. Then, without hesitation, she kissed him.

"I'm glad you ca back unscathed," she whispered against his lips.

Only after the mont passed did they both rember Edgar was still standing there, watching them in complete silence.

"..."

"..."

Edgar folded his arms, exhaling through his nose. "I had my suspicions about you two before," he mused. "But now… Yeah. I get it."

He turned away, walking into the living chamber. "I saw nothing. Anyway, Jake, since you've fulfilled your part, let's seal our deal."
