When Jacob looked down.

The shallow cut on his arm was already turning deep purple. A sickly numbness was spreading through his body, draining his strength bit by bit.

"Boss... I need to force the poison out. But it will take half an hour of ti!" he said through clenched teeth, his face pale with guilt.

Alex : ???

Half an hour?!

What do you an you’re clocking out this early?

Bro, are you sure you are not joking, how can you leave here with this Assassin in such a perilous mont.

Before he could shout back to him to tell his inner thoughts, the black-clad assassin dropped down from the roof with a long sword gleaming in his hand, lunging straight at Alex.

His intent couldn’t be more clear now ...Tokill.

"Oh hell no!" Alex yelped in panic.

His brain scread with urgency, God! That knife was coated in with poison, who knows what will be on that sword?

Fighting was clearly suicide, although he has so Martial arts after Jacob transferred half of his powers in him.

But deep down he knew if even the Jacob can suffer under this assassin hands, then he is no Expert.

It was as clear as the skies, that there is a great wisdom in running for life.

Without much hesitation he ran like his dependent on it today ...which in fact it is.

Good thing Jacob had drilled him in practicing footwork daily.

Alex’s legs were moving like pistons, carrying him faster than a rabbit across the streets.

Behind him though the assassin pursued with deadly focus and his sword flashing cold under the sun.

Two miles.

Three miles.

Four miles.

Unknowingly Alex had co so far to even know where he is currently now.

Alex’s lungs are burning, his heart is beating so fast it might explode in any mont, sweat poured down his face like he has taken a bath and hadn’t dried his hair yet.

And still the black-clad assassin chased without slowing down even a bit, like a shadow that refused to let go, like a cat playing with the mouse.

What the hell did I ever do to you?!

I didn’t kill your whole family! Am I?

Why are you chasing like I stole your wife and your bank account all at once?!

Alex cursed him, his parents, and his ancestors eighteen generations of his family.

"Die!" the assassin roared.

Cornered against the riverbank that unknowingly ca to after running, Alex spun around at the sound just in ti to see the long sword thrust forward at him.

It struck like lightning fast, like a silver snake lunging for his throat.

Alex’s mind blanked montarily unable to react the sudden onslaught.

This speed?!

What kind of martial arts cheat code is this?!

Brother, were you playing with all this ti?

The blade was less than two inches away from him.

Too fast to dodge.

Too late to run.

No. I can’t die here. Not like this!

His thoughts raged. I’m still single! I haven’t even lost my virginity yet!

How can I die now?!

Sothing primal inside him snapped. A surge of strength brought by desperation exploded through his body, filling his body with strength.

At the very last instant when the sword is about to touch his neck, Alex twisted his body out of the way at an unnatural angle.

At an angle due to which the sword missed his heart, but still it sliced across his waist instead.

A burning pain tore through his body, the wound must be around ten centiters long, one centiter deep at the very least but at least it wasn’t fatal.

The assassin froze for a fraction of a second, startled by his reflexe.

He hadn’t expected Alex to dodge his strike at that speed.

Seeing him startled, Alex seized the chance without much of a hesitation.

He lunged forward and kicked hard, sending the long sword flying from the man’s hand.

"Even without a sword," The assassin shouted his voice full of threat but sothing doesn’t feel right with the voice, it was not like a voice that could appear on the man, "you’re still going to die!"

The black clad assassin growled in rage and slamd his palm forward, striking with murderous intent.

Alex felt a sharp pain shoot through his body, bones almost cracking from the palm.

But instead of retreating, he roared and rushed forward, arms were like iron clamps wrapping around the assassin.

Together, they tumbled into the rushing river.

Water splashed violently as both were pulled underwater.

The current surged around them, dragging them deeper and deeper into the river, their faces were only inches apart beneath the surface.

Completely desperate, Alex pressed his hand into the assassin’s armpit, a strange move, yet the one he can trust his life on.

It was his special technique honed in his school days....TheUltimate Tickling Technique.

Shaless but effective technique to force surrender, it worked in his school days, no reason it won’t do so now.

The assassin stiffened instantly, eyes wide with shock.

He coughed underwater, swallowing a mouthful of river water, clearly not expecting such a move.

"Struggling like this," Alex thought fiercely, "he’s not used to water or he didn’t know swimming at all. Oh Thank god finally there is a ray of hope, He certainly can’t last as long as I can!"

With renewed determination, Alex clamped tighter around the assassin’s waist, pouring in every ounce of his strength, dragging him down deeper into the water.

The assassin thrashed wildly.

In the chaos, his black veil slipped away, the river washing it aside to reveal a face that Alex hadn’t accepted or Imagined, it was a face of stunning beauty.

Alex’s heart skipped at that face. "What...? A girl?!"

The lake water was so clear that every feature of her stood out.

She was young, fierce, and unexpectedly beautiful, but had nearly killed him only monts ago.

Anger replaced his shock. "So what if you’re a girl? You tried to kill !"

He tightened his hold, dragging her deeper. "Your swimming skills can’t match mine. Down here, you will definitely die!"
