Alex walked steadily to the Hartwell family Manor but his mimd was elsewhere his mind is currently focused on the final pieces of his plan that he is going to implent.
-------’
When he finally arrived at the Hartwell family’s main gate, he raised a hand and knocked firmly on the heavy wooden door.
"Knock knock."
"Knock knock."
Soon enough the door creaked open as it was opened by Nathan who peered out cautiously to look out at the guest.
When he saw Alex and Jacob standing there, his cautious eyes imdiately lit up with trendous joy and relief upon seeing him.
"Brother Jacob, Brother Alex, you are finally here!
Oh, How worried I was when I couldn’t find you anywhere.
You have not visited for the past two days, and I even thought you had fled the city to escape the lord’s punishnt."
Alex looked a little amused at him but he has no ti to reprimand him at his foolish thoughts.
Alex cut straight to the point his voice low and urgent, "We have little ti left with us, you have to hurry up. Help us move these two carts of equipnt into the courtyard imdiately."
"Of course, Boss!"
Nathan imdiately rushed forward to help move the carts his body fra straining as he began pushing one of the two heavily laden wooden carts into the private courtyard.
Once everything was safely inside, he quickly closed and barred the heavy door behind them shut so no one can see them what they are doing.
"Brother Alex!"
Just as Alex entered the house, Lucy’s eyes which were reddened from continued worry for him lit up with pure joy as she saw him walking through the gates.
She walked forward quickly on her steps her relief and happiness evident in her barely restrained emotion as she greeted him warmly with a hug.
Alex smiled gently at her, seeing her tears in her eyes he couldn’t help but say so words to comfort her.
While calming down the girl in her arms he ordered the Jacob to move the carts with his eyes.
"Boss, what exactly is all this equipnt?" Nathan did not seem to mind her sister behavior odd as if it was the most common thing in the world instead his eyes were wide with obvious curiosity as he circled the mysterious cloth-covered carts.
He could not make sense of what is under those strange clothes, even the clothes that are covering them are strange to touch....they look artificial.
"The thod for praying for rain," Alex remove himself from her embrace and looked at Nathan to explain.
"What? The thod for praying for rain?"
At this mont, Nathan stared at the two large wooden carts positioned in the courtyard, an expression of profound doubt and confusion etched on his face.
But before he could ask any additional questions, Alex reached out and lifted the plastic covers from the carts to reveal their contents inside.
Under the plastic covers there were Two sleek, high-altitude rain cannons gleaming in the sunlight, positioned next to a heavy wooden crate filled with specialized rainfall bombs.
"Brother Alex, what are these strange tal devices?" Lucy temporarily too forgot about her worry but she was still deeply puzzled by the sight of large tals and could not help asking with wide-eyed wonder.
"As I said it is the thod for praying for rain," Alex explained patiently once more. "Whether it will rain in Ironhold today depends entirely on these devices and their proper operation by us."
Alex continued his explanation while simultaneously positioning the two high-altitude rain cannons so their muzzles pointed directly toward the empty blue sky from the courtyard.
He carefully extracted a rainfall bomb from the crate and loaded it into the firing chamber of the first cannon.
For this critical mission, he had brought a total of fifty high-altitude rain cannons and one thousand specialized rainfall bombs, all of which he had stored safely in his interdinsional warehouse space.
But due to the severe ti constraints, he and Jacob had only been able to transport these two cannons and a wooden crate containing fifty rainfall bombs to the Hartwell family estate for the ti being.
It is not that he can not extract directly in the courtyard instead of the warehouse but doing so and explaining how they appeared out of nowhere to the Hartwell family will be quite a hassle for him.
He has already enough on his plates, he did not want to busy himself explaining his abilities to them.
It is not that he did not trust them to keep his secrets but what if by so mistake it got leaked that he has super abilities.
Either he will be captured, dissected or studied by them or they will begin seeing him as God.
Both conditions are those he didn’t want to face right now.
"What?" Nathan stamred. "Just these two pieces of tal machinery?"
"But do not priests always use burning incense sticks and wooden swords decorated with talismans to pray for rain?" Nathan looked completely surprised and bewildered by the scene before him. This was entirely different from what he had imagined in his mind!
He had previously witnessed the fortune teller hired by the county magistrate attempting to pray for rain at the city gate plaza.
At that ti, the entire city had been in an uproar of excitent. Everyone had rushed over to observe the fortune teller preparing large amount of sacrifices of pigs, cattle, and sheep. After chanting so mysterious incantations and prayers, she had placed burning incense sticks in ornate censers and perford rituals ant to summon rain from the heavens.
How could two cold pieces of tal machinery possibly pray for rain instead of using ancient, spiritual rituals?
"These tal devices you ntioned are what people in my holand use for praying for rain. They are called high-altitude rain cannons," Alex explained to them, patting the cool tal of the nearest device. "The wooden crate positioned next to them is filled with specialized rainfall bombs."
He paused, letting them absorb the information. "Each rainfall bomb contains chemical catalysts such as silver iodide compounds.
When the cannon fires these bombs high into the air where they explode, the catalysts react with the moisture in the sky to form massive quantities of artificial ice crystals. These ice crystals can then transform the water vapor suspended in the air into liquid water that falls to the ground as rain."
Alex did not really expect them to fully comprehend the intricate scientific explanation. He simply hoped they could grasp the basic principle behind the technology.
"What?"
Lucy and Nathan looked at each other, their expressions a mask of complete confusion and incomprehension.
High-altitude rain cannons?
Rainfall bombs?
Silver iodide?
Condensation reactions?
These technical terms were pure unfamiliar and alien to them. It was the first ti they had ever heard such strange and complicated words.
"I did not expect that Brother Alex’s holand possessed such advanced thods for praying for rain," Lucy said, her voice filled with genuine admiration. "If you have the opportunity in the future, could you possibly take to visit your holand?"
The first sentence she spoke was innocent enough, but when Lucy voiced the second, a deep blush blossod on her pretty face as she instantly realized the deeply personal and romantic implications of such a request.
"Certainly, I would be happy to," Alex replied with a warm smile.
Unfortunately, he thought to himself, the security uniform’s current level is still relatively low, and the interdinsional storage space cannot be used to transport living creatures yet. I can only wait for the security system to continue upgrading its capabilities.
After chatting pleasantly for a few more monts, Alex removed the final protective packaging from the rain cannon and carefully double-checked the rainfall bomb he had loaded into the firing chamber.
And then, he firmly pressed the ignition button with great excitent.
Imdiately afterward, before the absolutely shocked eyes of the entire Hartwell family, the high-altitude rain cannon unleashed its payload into the sky with a trendous, earth-shaking sound!
BOOM!
The rainfall bomb exploded high in the sky with a bright blinding flash.
Nathan’s jaw dropped open in pure shock, his mind unable to process what he had just witnessed.
Lucy gasped, covering her mouth with both hands in utter amazent.
Beside them, Mr. Hartwell nearly dropped the teacup he was holding but still he could not silence the porcelain rattling in his trembling hand.
Even Jacob, who had so inkling of what to expect from his master found his eyes widening with surprise at the sheer power of the device.
In these ancient tis, even the simplest artillery had not yet been invented. Seeing this magical and incredible scene, they naturally felt absolutely astonished and overwheld by the cannon.
They all have only one thought in their minds.
This massive tal device could actually launch a smaller tal projectile high into the sky? How.
