Chapter 301: You Call Master, I Call You Senior Brother—We Each Stick to Our Titles
The sudden appearance of the blazing giant spear instantly sent shockwaves through the hearts of the Ninth Prince and the Dragonblood Guard.
They could feel the terrifying power contained within the spear, as if it sought to incinerate and lt everything in its path.
Even Zhao Yaolu felt a surge of astonishnt.
From the flaming spear, she sensed the presence of two entirely distinct types of strange flas.
When did Shen Mo manage to ta a second type of strange fla?
What was even more shocking was the sheer improbability of the feat. Strange flas were innately proud and incredibly difficult to ta. Even subduing one was an arduous task. Housing two within the sa body? That was almost unimaginable.
How did Shen Mo manage to reconcile the conflict between the two flas?
"Protect ! Quickly, protect !"
The Ninth Prince was utterly terrified.
He could feel it with certainty—he would not survive this attack. Death was inevitable.
For humans who had reached the Nascent Soul stage, even if their bodies were destroyed, their Nascent Souls could escape and, given the chance, rebuild their bodies.
But for the demon race, the death of their physical body ant true death.
The Dragonblood Guard gritted his teeth.
He knew what he had to do.
"Stay behind ."
"I will risk my life to buy you a sliver of survival."
Taking a deep breath, the Dragonblood Guard's blood surged madly.
Not just from his mouth and nose—blood began pouring out of every pore on his body.
The entire demon looked utterly horrifying, like a ghastly specter that had clawed its way out of the underworld.
The Ninth Prince shrank his body as much as possible behind the Dragonblood Guard.
At this mont, he deeply resented his large fra.
Why couldn't I have been smaller?
"Hellblood Shield!"
The Dragonblood Guard roared.
The surging blood instantly coalesced into a massive shield, enveloping both him and the Ninth Prince.
The once-powerful and muscular figure of the Dragonblood Guard withered in an instant, leaving him gaunt and shriveled, like a dried-out cucumber that had been without water for weeks.
Zhao Yaolu shook her head slightly.
Her recent battles in Wu Province against the demon race had given her plenty of experience.
During a surprise assault on the Fourth Prince's stronghold, she had nearly slain the fourth prince of the Ten Thousand Demon Nation.
Unfortunately, a Dragonblood Guard had appeared at the last mont.
Sacrificing his life to protect his charge, he had used this very sa technique.
The Hellblood Shield stood like an unyielding mountain, impossible to overco.
In the end, she could only watch helplessly as a group of demon kings rescued the Fourth Prince.
Of course, this technique ca with a heavy price.
It drained not only the blood coursing through the body but also the reserves buried deep within the bones and organs, squeezing out every last ounce of potential.
Even if the user survived, their strength would plumt to irrecoverable depths, rendering them no different from a corpse.
This was precisely why the Demon Emperor trained Dragonblood Guards—to use them as disposable pawns for such scenarios.
"If I can't kill the Ninth Prince, killing a Dragonblood Guard is still a win."
Zhao Yaolu nodded slightly.
This outco was acceptable.
Dragonblood Guards weren't easy to cultivate. Losing one carelessly like this was sure to trouble the Demon Emperor for a while.
"Want to survive?"
"Did you ask for my permission?"
Shen Mo watched the scene unfold and smiled faintly.
In his dantian, a golden-crowned Nascent Soul that had been ditating with closed eyes suddenly opened them.
Threads of golden Nascent Soul energy began to surge.
Shen Mo pointed abruptly at the blazing giant spear.
The Nascent Soul energy shot into the spear from a distance.
In the next mont, the flaming spear swelled as if being inflated!
Within re breaths, it expanded to a massive sixty feet in length!
It was far larger than before.
The flas burning upon it grew even more ferocious and intense, radiating scorching heat that made the very air shimr.
Though the spear had yet to strike, the searing heat waves were enough to make onlookers dizzy and lightheaded.
The Dragonblood Guard's face turned ashen.
He could feel the overwhelming threat looming before him.
For the first ti, he was unsure.
Can the Hellblood Shield withstand this flaming spear?
In the next mont, the spear collided with the shield.
In an instant, the point of impact erupted with dazzling light.
The blinding light from the collision spread across hundreds of miles, visible even to those thousands of miles away.
The ferocious shockwaves radiated outward from the point of impact, flattening countless towering trees.
Dust filled the air, rocks shattered, and flas licked everything in sight.
It was a scene straight out of an apocalypse.
At the center of the destruction, a deep crater had ford.
At the bottom of the pit were two charred and mangled corpses, barely recognizable.
Yet, one could discern they were the Dragonblood Guard and the Ninth Prince.
Zhao Yaolu's eyes widened in shock.
This single strike had actually killed both the Dragonblood Guard and the Ninth Prince!
The so-called Hellblood Shield had crumbled upon contact!
How has Shen Mo grown so strong in just a few years?
Shen Mo exhaled a deep breath and slowly descended from the sky.
He smiled and said, "Senior Sister, long ti no see."
Zhao Yaolu snorted coldly, and the black aura surrounding her began to recede.
It condensed into the single black horn on her forehead, which then vanished entirely.
She transford back into a petite, adorable girl, though her appearance had matured slightly.
Instead of looking eight or nine years old, she now appeared around ten.
"So, you've known I'm from the Heavenly Ghost Clan all along, haven't you?" Zhao Yaolu's gaze was sharp.
Shen Mo simply smiled without answering.
Zhao Yaolu bared her teeth but eventually relaxed. "Fine, you're my junior brother. If you know, you know."
The two exchanged a few words, catching up on the past few years.
Shen Mo casually waved his hand, summoning the storage artifacts from the two corpses at the bottom of the pit.
"Do you want these?"
Zhao Yaolu's eyes flickered with interest, but she quickly adopted the deanor of a senior.
"These two demons were killed by you. The spoils rightfully belong to you. How could I take them?"
"Besides, I'm your senior sister. I should let you have them."
She patted her flat chest with an air of authority, as though making a grand gesture.
Shen Mo chuckled and nodded.
At that mont, the sound of soone flying using spiritual energy approached from a distance.
Whoosh, whoosh.
Two figures landed not far away.
"Shen'er..."
Murong Yue's face lit up with joy upon seeing Shen Mo safe and sound.
Zhao Yaolu raised an eyebrow, her gaze shifting between Murong Yue and Shen Mo with a peculiar expression.
A woman's intuition told her that sothing was amiss.
Shen Mo walked over to Murong Yue and gently brushed her slightly disheveled hair aside, smiling. "Master, I'm fine. The Dragonblood Guard and the Ninth Prince are both dead."
"You can rest easy now."
Murong Yue and Ouyang Wei both looked shocked.
"They're... dead?"
Ouyang Wei rushed to the edge of the crater and stared at the corpses, his eyes widening even further.
The Ninth Prince and the Dragonblood Guard, both beings capable of crushing even peak Nascent Soul cultivators, had died so miserably.
Their bodies were barely intact—worse than stray dogs.
"You two catch up. I'm heading back to the base," Zhao Yaolu said, waving her hand. "Oh, and tell that old man to cut back on his drinking. Now that I'm gone, no one's going to cover his bills anymore."
Shen Mo laughed. "Got it. I'll tell him."
With a few nimble leaps, Zhao Yaolu disappeared into the dense forest.
"Who was that?" Murong Yue asked, blinking in surprise.
Ouyang Wei respectfully replied, "She is the young lord's senior sister, Zhao Yaolu."
Murong Yue nodded in astonishnt. "So, she's a senior..."
Shen Mo chuckled and teased, "More importantly, Master, if you join the Jade Cauldron Sect in the future, won't that make you my junior sister? Shouldn't you call Senior Brother then?"
"How are we supposed to address each other?"
Murong Yue's fair cheeks turned bright red in an instant.
"You call Master, and I'll call you Senior Brother," she stamred.
"We'll stick to our own titles!"
