Archer Rhys was a top-notch operative in the military, with exceptionally sharp senses.

The area was dead silent, so even the slightest sound was amplified.

He sensed people nearby—and more than just one.

They were deliberately waiting on this road. Clearly, they had co prepared.

A flurry of thoughts raced through Grace Winslow’s mind.

She hadn’t offended anyone.

The only people she had crossed, Caleb Forrest and Ivy White, were already behind bars thanks to her, and it would be at least another year or two before they could get out.

The only unusual thing she had done today was go to the police station to report Gordon Lynch.

Gordon Lynch had deliberately approached her during the day; he must have been digging up information on her behind her back.

’That scumbag,’ she realized. ’He’s targeting . He wants to kidnap and sell .’

That had to be why they were waiting on the only road back to the factory.

"Be careful. They might have weapons." When it ca to life or death, Grace Winslow never hesitated.

She knew that staying would only hold him back. The right thing to do was listen to Archer Rhys and run at the first possible mont.

The footsteps drew closer, and Archer Rhys suddenly shouted, "Run!"

Without a mont’s hesitation, Grace Winslow spun around and fled.

She sensed soone try to attack her, but Archer Rhys intercepted them all.

She ran forward blindly, with everything she had, faster than she had ever run in her life.

Once she reached a streetlit area where there were more houses, she imdiately scread at the top of her lungs, "Help! Human traffickers are kidnapping kids! Everyone, co out and catch them!"

At her cry, lights in houses that had already gone dark for the night flickered on one by one.

Soon, several n burst out, brandishing kitchen cleavers and looking furious.

"Where are the traffickers?" one of the n demanded, his eyes bloodshot and his voice fierce.

Grace Winslow gasped for a few breaths before she could speak, pointing behind her. "Back... back there! Bring flashlights! A kind man stopped them! I’m... I’m going to the police station to file a report!"

"I’ll go, I’m a fast runner," a young man offered, hearing her words. He imdiately took off to file the report.

The others, ard with flashlights, headed back with Grace Winslow.

From a distance, they could still hear the sounds of a fight, punctuated by pained screams and howls.

Grace Winslow’s fists were clenched tightly, and she worried for Archer Rhys’s safety.

However, when the beams of their flashlights fell upon the group, Grace Winslow realized her worries had been for nothing.

Archer Rhys was completely unhard.

The ambushers, on the other hand, were all on the ground, groaning in pain.

The people who had co with Grace Winslow sward forward, pinning the n firmly to the ground.

"Traffickers?"

They looked from the n on the ground to Archer Rhys.

Archer Rhys showed his identification. "I’m on leave and was in the area. I heard the cry for help and ca to assist."

"Where are the kids you took? Where’s my son? What did you do with him?!" the man with the cleaver demanded, waving it frantically. Seeing the traffickers, he was clearly struggling to remain calm.

The others quickly held him back to stop him from doing anything rash.

The police arrived shortly after.

They were a little surprised to see Grace Winslow, and then they noticed Archer Rhys.

They greeted Archer Rhys before arresting the traffickers on the ground.

"They’re probably Gordon Lynch’s accomplices," a young police officer said quietly to Grace Winslow and Archer Rhys. "That Gordon Lynch is clever. He must have sensed sothing was wrong and has gone into hiding. We haven’t caught him yet. But because of your report, we found over a dozen children he’d abducted. If we hadn’t gotten to one of them when we did, I’m afraid..."

But Grace Winslow’s heart sank.

’Gordon Lynch hasn’t been caught. He’ll most likely co after again.’
