Lily Callahan forced herself to get up and went with Nolan Winslow to her parents’ house to deliver the money.

When Grace Winslow returned ho, Irene Lynch looked at her with concern. "Grace, you gave all the money to your older brother. Will you have enough for yourself?"

"Your father and I have a little money here. Why don’t you take..."

Irene Lynch held out a roll of money.

’It looked to be about twenty-odd dollars, probably the last of the money they had at ho.’

Irene Lynch and Gregory Winslow had often helped their two sons financially, so they didn’t have much in savings.

Grace smiled and pushed the money back. "Mom, I have a job. I’ll get paid in a couple of days. I can earn my own money, so don’t worry about . You and Dad shouldn’t always be skimping on food and drinks. Your health is the most important thing, you know?"

"Rember to drink the malted milk I bought you, and don’t always think about saving money for ."

Irene Lynch’s eyes filled with both pride and heartache.

"If we’re really out of money, I’ll sell those few gold bars to get so cash," Irene Lynch said, lowering her voice.

Grace shook her head.

’It hasn’t co to that yet.’

’Starting next year, the restrictions on doing business will be lifted.’

’There are plenty of ways to make money.’

’After all, she’d lived a whole extra life. She’d be pretty useless if she couldn’t even figure out how to make money.’

"Let’s see what the situation with Mr. Callahan is first. If the money isn’t enough, just have soone co find at the factory. I still have a little more on hand."

Irene Lynch hesitated for a mont before nodding.

Nolan Winslow and Lily Callahan returned in the evening.

Lily Callahan’s complexion had improved a lot.

Nolan Winslow explained the situation. "They sent him to the hospital in the provincial capital two days ago. Lily’s mom is there looking after him, and her brother and sister-in-law are at ho."

"I gave all the money to Mark Callahan. He’s going to take a few days off work to go to the provincial capital."

"As long as he’s all right, that’s what matters. You can always earn more money. You’re both still young," Gregory Winslow said in a solemn voice.

Lily Callahan looked at Grace with gratitude. "Grace, I can’t thank you enough for this. I’m treating this as a loan. We will definitely pay you back."

"There’s no rush," Grace said with a wave of her hand. "I don’t have any kids to support, so I don’t have many expenses. Besides, I’m earning a good living. Just pay back slowly whenever you can."

Grace spent a comfortable day relaxing at ho, taking so ti to tutor her young nephews in their schoolwork. When it was ti to go back, Nolan Winslow personally drove her back to the factory.

On the way, Nolan Winslow sighed softly. "Grace, I feel so useless, having to borrow your money."

"Hey! I’ll get angry if you talk like that," Grace said, lightly swatting Nolan Winslow on the back. "We’re brother and sister. How can you say sothing like that to ?"

"Don’t say that ever again."

"All right, all right. I won’t say it again," Nolan Winslow said with a resigned smile.

Back at the factory, Grace put her professional face back on and dove into her work.

On July 13th, the factory shipped out its first batch of finished garnts.

Five thousand garnts at five dollars apiece.

May Callahan went personally to collect the paynt.

The shipnt was sold to a buyer in Southeast Asia. Grace and Oscar Osborne had deliberated for a long ti before settling on the price.

’If this batch sold well, they would raise the price on the next one.’

’After all, it was foreigners’ money. It would be a waste not to take it.’

Oscar Osborne was so excited he was on the verge of tears as he looked at the money May Callahan brought back.

If they had liquidated the backlogged fabric through normal channels, the entire warehouse stock wouldn’t have even fetched five thousand dollars. But now, by using just a small portion of it, they had sold the finished product for a whopping twenty-five thousand!

When Oscar Osborne had first quoted the price Grace had told him to, he never imagined the other party would agree so readily.
