In the vast, ancient world of Kalibu, not all creatures are created equal.

Just as humans are born with varying potential, so too are beasts—only their evolution is marked not by schooling or politics, but by fang, fla, and the flow of mana through their very bones.

To survive in Kalibu’s wilds is to face a natural order both brutal and divine, and the beasts of this world are ranked in a terrifying hierarchy that stretches from the mundane to the mythic.

Here are the eight stages of beast evolution in Kalibu, from the weakest to the most transcendent:

I. Normal Stage

These are the common creatures—cattle, forest animals, birds, and insects. They lack mana entirely, existing as nature’s background actors. Normal Beasts cannot level up beyond Level 3 and pose little to no threat to adventurers or tars. They’re edible, breedable, and very often... expendable. But they make up the majority of Kalibu’s biosphere, serving as prey, mounts, or companions to low-level tars.

II. Magical Stage

Known also as Magical Beasts, these creatures have managed to form a mana core—a second, heart-like organ no larger than a marble that allows them to harness the arcane energies of the world. This core is what distinguishes them from their mundane cousins.

Magical Beasts are typically found in regions saturated with mana such as Runewood, Dragon Mountain, Nocteria, and the aquatic nation of rcradle. Their levels range from 3 to 29, and their abilities vary wildly depending on their species and mana affinity. So breathe fire. Others cloak themselves in shadow. So fly, while others phase through trees like ghosts.

Their mana cores grow stronger with use—straining and developing like human muscle. And with enough battles and feeding on enchanted resources, a Magical Beast can reach its next transformation.

III. Ascended Magical Stage

When a Magical Beast’s core doubles in size and begins to glow from within, they are said to have Ascended. At this point, their intellect increases dramatically—granting them complex tactics, emotional intelligence, and even the ability to understand intentions. Many form bonds with sentient beings, others build territory, and a rare few develop special powers.

Ascended Magical Beasts are Level 30 to 49. Among them are the cunning Needle Wings and terrifying Night Stalkers, whose advanced coordination and predatory instincts make them apex threats in regions like the Runewood.

IV. Alpha Stage

Upon reaching a core that triples in volu, a beast transitions into an Alpha Stage. These monsters are rare and deadly. No longer simple predators, Alphas are generals. Leaders. Basically icons of their species.

At Level 50 to 68, they carve out domains, command packs, and even begin to shape ecosystems through sheer presence. Alpha Beasts are often the central figures of regional legends and feared by even seasoned adventurers.

Their intelligence borders on sentience, and so have been known to forge temporary truces with sentient tribes or bargain with powerful tars. One of the best example is the White Fang.

V. Primal Stage

A beast may remain Alpha forever unless it reaches a bottleneck—where its growth halts, and its body and mind are pushed to their absolute peak. Only by overcoming a life-threatening challenge—usually a battle against multiple enemies or a catastrophic event—can it evolve into the Primal Stage.

This is what happened to White Fang, the feared beast of the Runewood, after defeating seven rival Night Stalkers during a full blood moon raid. It ascended not with pride, but with scars.

Primal Beasts are locked around Level 69. They radiate pressure. Their very footsteps scar the earth. But even they are limited.

Because the next stage can’t be earned by strength alone...

VI. King Stage

To beco a King Beast, a creature must die—or co as close to death as possible. Their body must shatter, their soul tested, and their mana core remain intact against all odds. If their will refuses to fade... if their spirit ignites once more... they return not as a beast—but as sothing greater.

King Beasts are not simply strong—they are elentally fused. Their bodies burn, crackle, or vanish with the elent they’ve rged with. One is made of fla, another of void, another of glass, and still another of starlight.

Vulkris, the LastIncarnate Fla of Destruction, is one such King. His body is fire. His mane and tails are furnace. His breath lts mountains.

Nighthral, the Eternal Stalker, is another—his form cloaked in pure darkness, his presence silencing even the most monstrous howls.

King Beasts exist sowhere above Level 70 and can reach their peak power at 79, but their strength defies ordinary asurent. They are the stuff of prophecy. Natural disasters made flesh.

VII. Holy Beasts (level 80-95)

When a King Beast becos more than myth—when it becos a symbol, a spirit, a keeper of sacred realms—it evolves again.

Holy Beasts are divine guardians. They do not rule kingdoms—they protect sealed realms. Their power is not rely destructive, but spiritual. They can bestow blessings, create contracts, or offer power in exchange for sacrifice—be it treasure, artifact, or blood.

The Golden Phoenix is the pri example. Encountered by King Aurelus inside an S-class dungeon, it gave him a fragnt of its fla in exchange for a blood pact. Its power saved his nation—but cost him three years of his lifespan and a couple of heads of his precious friends.

VIII. Primordial Beasts

At the very top of this cosmic food chain are the Primordial Beasts—immortal titans said to have existed since the creation of Kalibu itself. They are the source of all others. The parents of Holy Beasts. The flas that shaped continents. The eyes that never blinked.

They do not live in kingdoms. They are kingdoms.

There are only five known Primordials—each guarding one continent, maintaining the balance of power, and slumbering in the most dangerous corners of the world.

Their strength is beyond level. Beyond mana. They do not breathe—they command creation.

Even their nas are feared: Thugnaka, the Leviathan of Ubhosa. Vhalka the Sleepy White of the Tou-oh Continent, are just two known nas of the five Primordial Beasts.

The rest are yet to be revealed.

Back to Inferna Hollow...

That is why—despite her rare [Whispering Tar] class and ten years of bonding—the Ashen Wyvern quaked uncontrollably the mont it laid eyes upon Vulkris.

Because even in sleep, a King Beast like Vulkris radiated a death sentence.

And yet Eyistha, standing defiant before the smoldering colossus, refused to back down.

"You will obey ," she hissed through gritted teeth. "Or do you want to feed you to Lord Thugnaka?"

The wyvern’s pupils shrank.

Thugnaka—the Primordial of Ubhosa—was a nightmare even among beasts. The wyvern had once seen its phantom image during a failed expedition. That glimpse alone nearly drove it mad.

Compared to that? Vulkris was a lesser evil.

With a shuddering screech, the wyvern forced its self and flapped its wings, building mana into its chest.

[Wind Strike]

A compressed waves of turbulent wind launched toward Vulkris’s massive, flaming body.

Poof.

The mont it made contact with Vulkris’s fire-infused aura, it evaporated—vanishing like a candle blown out in a hurricane. Even Eyistha blinked in disbelief.

"You... can’t be serious," she growled.

"Again! This ti, use Zephyr Vortex!"

Summoning its courage, the wyvern flew higher. Its wings sliced the air, building montum. A vortex began to form, swirling lava, ash, and stone into a rotating spiral of destruction.

The sky dimd. The mountaintop trembled.

And then—

[Zephyr Vortex]

The tornado, large enough to swallow a house, slamd into Vulkris and—

Nothing.

Not a blink. Not a stir.

The wind vortex crumbled on contact with the beast’s aura, disintegrating like leaves against a bonfire.

AAAARGGH!

Eyistha scread.

Out of her rage, she picked up a nearby rock, and threw it at the sleeping beast.

"You stupid FLAMING DOG!"

PLONK.

The rock bounced off its nose harmlessly.

And then—

Twitch.

The beast’s nose moved. Once. Twice.

A low rumble vibrated through the stone beneath her.

Eyistha froze.

"...No way."

BOOOM!

Suddenly its two majestic eyes opened—molten, ancient, and filled with rage.

The fire around Vulkris flared like a volcanic eruption. Its mane exploded into a living inferno, lighting the entire mountaintop in a storm of red and gold.

The ground cracked beneath him. Mana surged like a tsunami.

Eyistha fell to her knees, unable to breathe. Her artifact barrier strained just to keep her from being burned alive.

Then—

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR!!!

The sky split from the sheer pressure of the cry.

And from the heart of that roar, ca a word—a na.

A curse spat from a mory older than ti.

"EEEEEELAAAARYAAAAAA!!!!"
