"Call Flintwaters and Sam before he kills Jas!"

The barman’s voice cracked in fright as he jumped down the counter, trembling and praying for their two most esteed patrons to walk down the stairs and fix the situation.

At his command, the other outlaws dropped their gasses in a cacophony of noise and glistening fragnts in their stupor and horror.

One, more stoic than the others, scrambled to the stairs. Missing a march, he tumbled with a dull noise before climbing on all four to bring the two famous pirates and save them from the monstrous kid.

anwhile, the kid’s eyes, void of emotions, glared at the gatekeeper.

"Co on. You wanted to beat black and blue? Do sothing now that I’m here."

His taunting sent an icy chill wrap around everyone like a spiked blanket of dread prickling their sweating skin.

Then, his chuckle echoed, adding to the terror rocking their legs.

"Oh, sorry! It must be hard to talk without teeth, and when I hold your throat and life between my fingers. You’re lucky I’m good at controlling my strength because a slight blunder is all it’ll take for to crumple you like the piece of trash you are."

He applied a bit more strength, causing Jas’ neck to produce gurgling sounds as proof, and noticed the deep regret hidden behind all the man’s fears.

"What was it next? Ah yes! Teach a lesson about not taking pirates for fools. Let this one be a lesson for you not to provoke the one who’ll beco the best mage."

He added, swinging his arm and loosening his grip. The man flew out like a broken doll, colliding with the ground softly. Huffing, he pushed himself up and scrambled away in terror, holding his reddened neck with one hand and his bleeding mouth with the other.

As if nothing had happened, he walked to the counter, sat between the pale pirates, and knocked on the counter to attract the hiding bartender’s attention.

"Call Flintwaters and Sam if you don’t want to end like this disrespectful idiot. You have three seconds."

Before the situation could worsen and the elegant walls, adorned with magnificently golden plated steering oars and Galleons’ depictions, could be painted red with their blood, Flintwaters’ voice echoed from the stairs.

"Who dares create trouble in my resting place?"

Sam followed with an enraged roar as he saw the broken glasses, shattered door and terrorised outlaws.

"Who created a ss in my pub? Step out before I’ll hunt you, your friends, and your families down like mangy dogs."

He rose from his seat, leaning against the counter as his lips rose into a grin. Winking at the two n he had seen last year but couldn’t interact with, he gestured for them to co.

"Julius sends you his regards. Now sit."

He pushed the livid outlaws before patting the seats next to him.

"I’ll explain everything to prevent misunderstandings from happening."

The two n’s anger evaporated at the ntion of the kind kid from last year. Still, their eyes couldn’t help but shift between the different boy and the ss on the ground.

"I’ll pay for the repair. Even better, I’ll enchant a door for you, so don’t waste your ti mourning a few gold coins when I made you both earn a fortune last year."

He clicked his tongue at the two scrooges yet smiled at the familiar faces.

However, Flintwaters drew the saber resting on his belt and pointed it at him.

"Wow, you beca rich enough to buy a tier-two weapon."

He shook his head, shrugging it as a piece of scrap despite the glinting blade and intricate decoration embellishing the sword.

"You wasted your money. It’s garbage at best. In my eyes? It’s not even worth a bronze coin."

"Shut up, kid! Tell who you are and why you claim you made us rich when I’ve never seen you. It was Julius who sold the wands!"

He noticed the mistrust in the man’s eyes and gazed at his wealthy attire with a raised brow before answering.

"He did under my orders. The many ships you sunk were my doing, and all the riches you plundered and sold to Sam were my thank you for the transport last year. Of course, you may not want to trust . But, hey! I guess I can tell Charlotte about your adventures with Lola. I’m sure she’ll jump in delight learning that her husband has a mistress in another port..."

He covered his mouth as if he had made a mistake.

"My bad. There is also Giselle, Alexia, Lulu... Do I need to list all the ports’ ladies?"

With each na he spoke, he noticed Flintwaters’ face twitch before blood drained from it, leaving his expression as pale as a ghost’s.

anwhile, Sam’s eyes narrowed into slits as a flash of understanding lightened his eyes.

"Are you the big brother the boy spoke so much about?"

"Bingo. That’s ."

He clapped his hands before continuing.

"Not really how I pictured our reunion, but your gatekeeper’s mouth was too foul. Handpick a better one next ti."

Sizing the kid’s red coat, brown gloves and broad hat in fear, the mories of Julius’ stories rumbled in their minds.

Sam drew closer to the livid Flintwaters and whispered into his ears.

"He said he always spoke about becoming the pirate king. He even said he is stronger than mages, so sheath your blade and apologise before you doom us both."

With an audible gulp, Flintwaters nodded to his friend and drew his hand back.

However, before the blade’s shine could disappear into its sheath, Adam’s hand cut through the wind like a bullet and grasped it by the blade as if its razor-sharp edges didn’t exist.

Under his horrified grimace, Adam pulled back, snatching his prized weapon and spoke.

"I need you to transport to the Tide Caller’s island. I’ll turn that scrap iron into a tier-three legendary saber for you. Consider it my paynt."

Then, his eyes narrowed into slits at Sam as he knew how much of a cheapskate the shady buyer was.

"Admiral Reaper will co to drop my money here. Around a hundred and forty-four gold coins. Keep them for , and don’t touch a single one or..."

His lips rose into an insidious smile as he pointed at the round holes on the counter.

"Rember those holes when you tried to scam us? You’ll have the sa on your hands."
