Chapter 598: Chapter 594 Where is the person?

There’s only one bionic robot left, but Tom just can’t kill it no matter how hard he tries. Instead, the prolonged fight triggers the robot’s mimic mode, copying and pasting all of his attack trajectories.

This leaves Tom increasingly on the defensive.

There’s no chance to land a decisive blow.

On the contrary, the bionic robot is now preemptively predicting his attack trajectories, pushing him to the brink of danger.

Several tis he was almost run through by the bionic robot’s alloy longsword.

Tom is being beaten back step by step.

He wants to use the Sprite Ball Bomb but just can’t create enough distance between himself and the robot.

Tom swears to himself, after this battle at the pawnshop is over and he goes back, he’ll make sure to learn close-quarters combat properly from Taotie and Mantis.

To avoid being humiliated like this again if he faces another bionic robot.

Just as Tom’s attention slips, the bionic robot seizes the opportunity and thrusts its blade straight at him.

Tom snaps back to reality, his face pale in shock.

He frantically swings his sword to block, secretly cursing himself for being so careless—making such a low-level mistake in a life-or-death fight.

Clang—

The two alloy longswords collide.

Sparks fly as a massive force reverberates through Tom’s blade. His hand numbs at the grip, and he almost loses hold of the sword handle.

While Tom silently thanks his stars the robot didn’t disarm him completely, he fails to anticipate the robot’s sudden switch in tactics. The longsword pivots from a thrust to an upward slash, while the robot simultaneously aims a powerful kick at Tom’s abdon.

Tom knows all too well how strong the robot is; he doesn’t dare take the kick directly. Retreating a step to create distance, he’s nonetheless forced to abandon his sword as it’s knocked from his grasp by the robot’s upward strike.

Weaponless, Tom is horrified.

“This is bad!”

“I’m screwed!”

Tom gives a bitter smile.

Without the alloy longsword, he has no way to defeat the bionic robot.

Retrieving the sword under the bionic robot’s relentless attacks? Almost impossible.

But now’s not the ti to dwell on that.

What matters is how to survive.

Tom pulls out two daggers from the sheath on his back.

In the very next second!

The bionic robot’s longsword sweeps down again.

Tom instinctively raises his daggers to block.

Snap—

A crisp sound slices through the air as the daggers collide with the alloy longsword. The daggers barely last a single round before being shattered into two pieces by the robot’s blade.

If not for Tom’s quick reflexes and agile movent technique, that strike could have ended him.

Throwing the broken daggers aside, Tom hurriedly falls back, trying to widen the gap between himself and the robot. However, the robot, showing no intention of dodging, swings its sword relentlessly and pursues him like a shadow.

The flying daggers only produce sparks upon hitting the robot’s alloy skin.

Not even a faint scratch is left on its surface.

Seeing this, Tom laughs bitterly.

As the robot’s continuous attacks force him into a corner, Tom can only do his best to dodge.

He avoids direct confrontation with the robot.

The daggers in his hands are no match for the alloy longsword.

Swish—

The bionic robot swiftly closes the distance.

It strikes with another fierce slash.

With no way to evade, Tom uses what remains of his daggers to block. As expected, the daggers shatter instantly upon contact with the robot’s blade.

“I’m dood!”

Despair flashes across Tom’s face.

One more strike like this, and he’ll be dead.

And this strike cos sooner than expected.

The robot’s longsword, after breaking the daggers, swiftly reverses its trajectory, sweeping toward Tom’s chest and abdon.

Tom freezes in terror.

There’s no ti to dodge.

All Tom can do is pray his luck holds out.

That he won’t be disemboweled by the robot’s blade.

If he sohow avoids being gutted, maybe he can struggle a while longer—not die so quickly.

Just as Tom is ready to give up.

Sothing unexpected happens!

Whoosh—

A black shadow flashes by in an instant.

Clang—

The sound of weapons colliding fills the air.

The bionic robot’s longsword, poised to eviscerate Tom, is intercepted by another identical longsword.

Tom freezes, then breaks into a grin.

He knows reinforcents have arrived.

He’s been saved.

Following the direction of the longsword, Tom sees Mantis standing solemnly beside him.

Mantis has saved his life!

“Stay out of the way.”

“This thing’s mine!”

Mantis speaks coolly.

With a swift kick, Mantis sends Tom sprawling.

Then, wielding the longsword, he charges toward the bionic robot.

This particular robot had copied all of Tom’s lee skills, significantly boosting its combat power beyond what Mantis had faced with the previous three bionic robots.

But Mantis, who’s professionally trained, won’t be troubled by this minor upgrade.

Within just a few exchanges, Mantis figures out the robot’s patterns.

Deliberately, he baits the robot with an opening.

The robot predictably takes the bait.

It thrusts its sword at the exposed gap.

Mantis smirks coldly.

Executing his planned maneuver, he sidesteps the robot’s strike.

Using his alloy longsword like a blade, he hacks into the robot’s neck.

With a burst of crackling electricity.

The robot’s head falls to the ground.

Beheaded by Mantis’ strike.

“You okay?”

Mantis sheathes his sword, turns to Tom.

Seeing Tom still sitting on the ground, Mantis pauses slightly before reaching out to pull him up.

Tom shakes his head with a bitter smile, “Thank you. If you hadn’t co in ti, I’d be done for today.”

Tom thanks Mantis, grabbing his hand to get up.

“No need for thanks.”

“We’re all serving Princess Your Highness anyway.”

Mantis smiles as he speaks.

“Where’s Princess Your Highness?”

At the ntion of Fang Xiaocao, Tom reflexively looks up, scanning the area for her.

But Mantis also looks around and can’t find Fang Xiaocao anywhere. Tom instantly panics.

Hearing Tom’s shouts, Mantis freezes.

He then hastily searches for Fang Xiaocao too.

Neither Tom nor Mantis can find any trace of her.

“King Qinguang from the pawnshop is gone too,” Tom says gravely.

“Could it be that King Qinguang abducted Princess Your Highness?”

Hearing this, Mantis’ expression also turns grim.

Tom doesn’t respond imdiately.

He frowns, thinking deeply.

After a while, he shakes his head, “No.”

“King Qinguang is human, not a bionic robot. His combat power, though top-tier, shouldn’t pose a threat to Princess Your Highness.”

Tom analyzes solemnly.

Mantis frowns, “But what if King Qinguang tricked her? What if he ambushed Princess Your Highness?”

“As they say, open attacks are easy to dodge; hidden arrows are hard to guard against. That King Qinguang guy from the pawnshop looks like an old Jianghu veteran. If he ambushed Princess Your Highness, it’s not impossible.”

Mantis’ words make Tom frown deeper.

Could it be possible?

It really might be!
