Chapter 250: Chapter 246 What a Big Snake Chapter 250: Chapter 246 What a Big Snake How violent can a Taotie be?

Violent enough to pin a black bear to the ground and whip it rcilessly.

The black bear shook all over from the Taotie’s whipping.

Blood was everywhere, from its mouth to its nose.

One of its sharp fangs had even been snapped off by the Taotie.

The Taotie rose to its feet, its clenched fist cracking with a “crunch.”

It looked at the black bear coldly.

The bear lay on the ground, trembling.

It twitched as if the Taotie had reduced it to tears.

Seeing such a pitiable state, Fang Xiaocao even started to have illusions—who was the real bear here?

The Taotie was never one to show rcy, certainly not to a bear, regardless of whether it was pitiful.

Straddling the black bear, the Taotie grabbed its fuzzy ears with both hands and, using brute force, actually hefted the bear into the air.

The Taotie’s hands moved down to embrace the black bear’s waist.

He hoisted the black bear up with effort.

Adjusting the weight of the black bear, the Taotie grinned and said, “This bear might look thin, but it’s quite heavy.”

Fang Xiaocao blinked, eyeing the black bear that was at least four tis her own weight, and found it hard to agree.

With the bear in its arms, the Taotie spun around and released, sending the bear “whooshing” through the air until, with a “bang,” it slamd brutally against a tree.

With a pain so intense, the black bear let out a pig-slaughter-like shriek and lay on the ground, unable to get up for a long ti.

The Taotie let out a cold laugh and walked towards the black bear.

Watching this, Fang Xiaocao slightly frowned.

“Taotie, that’s enough!”

Fang Xiaocao raised her voice to stop the Taotie.

“Let it go!”

“You’ve already beaten it to this state, it won’t be a threat to us anymore. We should focus on our journey and not delay important matters,” she said to the Taotie.

The Taotie halted and looked at Fang Xiaocao.

Seeing her serious face, the Taotie nodded.

“I’ll listen to Princess Your Highness!” the Taotie said cheerfully.

Then, he gave the black bear one more kick.

“You rotten thing, I’ll let you go this ti!”

“Keep your eyes peeled next ti!”

The Taotie lectured the black bear for a while, picked up its Mountain Splitter Dagger, sheathed it, and continued to lead the way based on the planned route on the treasure map.

Fang Xiaocao glanced at the black bear, which lay on the ground, static and sneakily peering at them with its small eyes. She shook her head, picked up one of the bear’s teeth, held it in her hand, and followed the Taotie’s footsteps.

Bears are known for their intelligence.

They can imitate humans and are skilled at testing them.

They even recognize guns and the power behind them.

At the sa ti, they are very vicious and bloodthirsty!

If you beco their target, it’s like living through a nightmare.

Of course, that’s if you can make them fear you.

If they catch a whiff of you, they’d turn tail and run miles away, never giving you a second chance to beat them. But if they don’t realize you’ve seen them and think they’re strong enough, they might also sneak back and follow you quietly, looking for a chance to kill you.

This is the nature of bears—seemingly clumsy and cute on the outside, but cunning and bloodthirsty on the inside, rembering each grudge.

It’s best to avoid them when possible. If you encounter a bear, unless you have a very fast ans of transportation, don’t even think about running. Instead, bluff, roar loudly, and slowly back away. Your chances of survival might actually be higher than if you fled.

Because…

Despite their awkward build, you definitely can’t outrun a bear, nor can you match its keen sense of sll. Simply put, you can neither outrun it nor hide from it.

After trekking another three kiloters on the mountain path, the Taotie stopped again and waved at Tom, “Old Tom, co here!”

Hearing the Taotie call him, Tom instructed Hummingbird to guard their rear as he approached the Taotie’s side.

Fang Xiaocao, curious, leaned in as well.

“What’s happening?”

Tom whispered.

“Look here, doesn’t this resemble the entrance marked on the treasure map, described so vividly?”

Taotie pointed to an old tree not far ahead, with intertwining branches, and said to Tom.

Tom paused, then followed Taotie’s pointing finger. When he saw the uniquely shaped old tree, his eyes instantly lit up: “It does!”

“Shall we go over and take a look?”

There was a hint of excitent in Tom’s voice.

“Let’s go!”

Taotie responded, stood up, and together with Tom, they approached the old tree.

Xiaocao also wanted to follow, but she hesitated for a mont, afraid of any dangers that might slow Tom and Taotie down, and chose not to follow. Instead, she squatted where she was, watching every move that Tom and Taotie made.

Tom and Taotie approached the old tree with great caution.

They took out the yellowed treasure map, studied it carefully, and kept looking up to compare their surroundings.

Seeing their cautious behavior, Xiaocao also grew tense, her eyes glued in that direction, waiting for Tom and Taotie to confirm whether this uniquely shaped old tree was indeed the marker for the entrance to the treasure they were searching for.

Suddenly, Xiaocao’s pupils contracted rapidly.

Her gaze fixed on a single point!

In Xiaocao’s line of sight, there appeared a python as thick as a bucket, its scales glinting with cold light under the hazy moonlight. Its massive head, with cold eyes, was fixed on Tom and Taotie as its enormous body slowly wriggled, silently inching closer to them.

It was the first ti Xiaocao had seen such a large snake, and it made her feel suffocated.

But Xiaocao knew that now was not the ti to be scared; she had to do sothing.

Otherwise, once the python attacked Taotie and Tom, wrapping around either of them, it might crush all their bones.

A nine in ten chance of death!

Or perhaps…

No chance of survival!

With that thought, Xiaocao no longer hesitated.

She drew the gun from her waist and aid it at the python.

“Tom, Taotie, watch out for the python!”

Xiaocao shouted, issuing a warning to Tom and Taotie.

Upon hearing Xiaocao’s cry, Tom and Taotie both startled and turned to look at her.

Seeing Xiaocao holding the gun with an anxious face, aiming behind them, they imdiately turned and looked back, while simultaneously drawing their own weapons.

At the sa ti!

Realizing it had been spotted, the python no longer hid its presence. It surged forward in an instant, opening its maw wide and pounced towards Tom and Taotie.

At that sight, Xiaocao gritted her teeth and, without any hesitation, pulled the trigger.

A gunshot rang out with a “bang.”

The searing bullet flew out.

A burst of blood blossod on the python’s head.

Hit!

Xiaocao’s shot had actually hit the mark!

Even Xiaocao herself was surprised.

Her original intention was only to scare the python, to buy Tom and Taotie more ti to escape.

“Hiss–”

Upon receiving the heavy blow, the python hissed in pain.

Its body, originally lunging at Tom and Taotie, halted and lay on the ground, writhing.

“Princess Your Highness is aweso!”

Taotie was montarily stunned by the scene.

Then he instantly turned to Xiaocao and gave her a thumbs up, applauding her shot.

The next second!

Taotie drew his Mountain Splitter Dagger and charged at the python.
