“Are you going back to the hotel?”

As she walked out of the city bureau, Fang Xiaocao stood in front of the bureau’s entrance, pausing to look around, her eyes scanning everywhere.

Her eyes swept over everyone, her gaze flitting across each person’s face.

“Why are you still here?”
Just then, Wang Qiang’s voice ca from behind Fang Xiaocao.

“Didn’t you say you had things to do?”
“Why did you end up daydreaming in front of the city bureau?”
Wang Qiang asked, perplexed.
Just as Fang Xiaocao was about to say sothing offhand to sidestep the topic, an idea suddenly struck her, and she had a bold thought.

“Since you want to set up, why can’t I cause you so trouble?”
Fang Xiaocao murmured to herself.
Thinking of this, Fang Xiaocao suddenly let out a wicked chuckle and spoke, “Officer Wang, is Han Xue still in the ntal hospital?”
“Definitely there!”
“Why are you bringing her up all of a sudden?”
Hearing Fang Xiaocao’s words, Wang Qiang was taken aback and asked with confusion.

“I think I just saw Han Xue…”
Fang Xiaocao pretended to say timidly.
“What?”
“Where?”
Wang Qiang exclaid.
“Officer Wang, don’t get excited.”
“I’m not certain it was her.”
“She just flitted by for a mont, and she looked so much like Han Xue that I was staring in shock, but when you woke up, she was gone when I looked for her again.”
Fang Xiaocao said weakly.
Fang Xiaocao’s goal was to lead Wang Qiang to investigate Han Xue and thus discover that Han Xue had escaped from the ntal hospital.
“Are you sure you didn’t imagine it?”
Wang Qiang asked gravely, a frown on his face.
“I… I’m not certain…”
Fang Xiaocao said weakly again.
“However…”
“Officer Wang, why don’t you give the ntal hospital a call to ask?”
Fang Xiaocao suggested, batting her eyes.
Upon hearing this, Wang Qiang nodded and said, “Okay, I’ll call and ask right now.”
Wang Qiang also felt that it was better to be on the safe side. After all, it was just a phone call. If it turned out to be true and his laziness led to so irreversible consequences, then the problem would be severe.
When Fang Xiaocao heard Wang Qiang’s words, she snickered silently, thinking to herself, “Success!”

From the other end of the phone ca a crisp female voice.
“A few days ago, we transferred a female psychiatric patient nad Han Xue. We have a case here that might be related to her and need to question her over the phone. Could you please bring her over for questioning?”
Wang Qiang didn’t directly ask if Han Xue was there but instead made it look like they needed Han Xue’s cooperation for an investigation. This is why he asked the ntal hospital to bring her for questioning.
Wang Qiang had his own ulterior motives. He feared the ntal hospital might try to cover up their negligence by concealing the truth about any mismanagent and give him the run-around.
Thus, he concocted this excuse to secretly send soone to look for her.
“Okay, I need you to report your identification number for verification,” said the female operator from the hospital.
“My identification number is…”
“I personally oversaw Han Xue’s transfer. You can check the registration log for confirmation.” Wang Qiang reported his id number and said firmly.
“We’ll need to call the city bureau to verify, please hold on,” said the hospital woman sternly over the phone.
“Go ahead!”
“Your call would co to anyway,” Wang Qiang said with a laugh.
“Ring ring ring…”
Before he finished speaking, Wang Qiang’s other phone started ringing.
“Hello, I am Wang Qiang from the Criminal Investigation Team!”
Wang Qiang glanced at the incoming number and pressed the answer button.
“Er…”
Simultaneously, a voice of astonishnt ca through both phones.
“So, can I go get her now?”
Wang Qiang smiled and said in a deep tone.
“Ah…”
“Yes, you can, just one mont.”
