âI hope youâll keep your promise,â Jiang Yun said. âIâve left a trace of my consciousness within it. When you deliver the inheritance, Iâll tell you everything.â
Sword aura radiated from his body. The small sword floated midair and slowly drifted toward Xu Zimo.
Xu Zimo took the sword and stored it in his spatial ring.
Then he asked, âHow much do you know about the Primordial Demon Cave?â
âThatâs a forbidden ground in the Upper Realm,â Jiang Yun replied. âForget understanding it, just speaking about it openly is prohibited. I only passed by it once and picked up a few things. They say it houses the most powerful demons ever known, beings capable of destroying entire worlds.â
âWhat if Iâm one of those demons?â Xu Zimo asked with a grin. âWould you turn against me?â
âTo be honest, I donât have strong feelings about demons,â Jiang Yun said, shaking his head. âJust like humans have good and bad among them, so do demons. You canât judge an entire race by a few individuals.â
âYouâre an interesting one,â Xu Zimo smiled.
âThe Primordial Heartlands are still far too small,â Jiang Yun looked at Xu Zimo seriously. âe to the Upper Realm soon. Thatâs where the real vastness lies. Thatâs where true powerhouses belong.â
âWhat about those five in the village?â Xu Zimo asked, glancing behind him.
âThatâs up to you,â Jiang Yun shrugged. âKill them or let them go. Your call.â
As the two conversed, a deafening boom rang out from the sky.
With the explosion, the entire Particle World began to tremble.
Xu Zimo looked up. In the sky, countless tiny red dots had appeared.
As they grew larger, he quickly realized: each red dot was a person.
But these people had red skin and eyes that were pitch-black, pletely devoid of whites.
Aside from that, they looked fairly human.
Xu Zimo had seen these creatures once before during a glimpse into the River of Fate.
âThe Undying Race,â he said in surprise.
They were once one of the dominant races of the Desolate Era, known along with the Beast Race and Titan Race as the Three Great Races.
These three once defeated the Dark Primordials and nearly ruled the entire Desolate Age.
The Titan Race was severely weakened in that war and eventually retreated from history.
The Beast Race was overthrown by Grand Emperor Zhen Wu.
As for the Undying Race, they vanished pletely, leaving no trace.
âYou really do know quite a bit,â Jiang Yun said with a chuckle.
âWhat are they doing here?â Xu Zimo asked.
By now, the sky was almost fully occupied by the Undying Race army.
At the center of the formation hovered a cannon-like cylinder.
Though there were many Undying cultivators, their individual cultivation levels werenât very high.
However, they seemed to possess a unique method, allowing them to bine their power and channel it into the central device.
The force generated by this bined effort was terrifying.
Each time the cannon fired, the entire Particle World shook violently.
Cracks spread across the ground. At this rate, destruction seemed inevitable.
âCan your world hold out?â Xu Zimo asked.
âThey wonât destroy it,â Jiang Yun shook his head. âThis is the third time theyâve e here. I just donât know how much longer I can hold out.â
âSo thatâs why youâre in such a rush to get your inheritance out?â Xu Zimo asked.
âIf you hadnât shown up, Iâd have had to give it to those five,â Jiang Yun nodded. âBut I never really trusted them.â
âAnd you trust me? We just met,â Xu Zimo smiled, amused.
âJust a gut feeling,â Jiang Yun replied. âBesides, I can tell my inheritance doesnât mean that much to you. But to them, itâs everything.â
Xu Zimo laughed and asked again, âSo what does the Undying Race want here?â
âThey want to seize this Particle World and use it as a base,â Jiang Yun replied. âCertain people once made a pact, the Undying Race is forbidden from appearing on the Primordial Heartlands. So they can only seek out these Particle Worlds hidden in the Infinite Void.â
Seeing Xu Zimoâs puzzled expression, Jiang Yun added with a smile, âYouâll understand when you get to the Upper Realm. The Undying Race canât make much of a mark on the world anymore.â
As they spoke, cracks began to spread across the sky.
It was as if the entire firmament was about to collapse.
âItâs time for you to go,â Jiang Yun looked at Xu Zimo and said.
âYouâre not ing?â Xu Zimo asked.
âThis is my world. Where would I go?â Jiang Yun smiled faintly, his gaze lifting to the sky. âThese insects are only bold because Iâm just an avatar. If my true self were here, they wouldnât dare act like this.â
Xu Zimo nodded, then stepped forward into the void and appeared before the five in Hidden World Village.
âRespected one, what happened?â the five asked quickly as soon as they saw him.
âIâll give you a choice,â Xu Zimo smiled. âYou can either stay here and die with this world⌠Or I can let you go, but youâll owe me a favor.â
The five exchanged looks, then all nodded and said, âWeâll do as you ask.â

As the sky above shattered pletely, the Undying Raceâs army descended like a swarm.
They immediately took control of the Particle World.
In the valley where peach blossoms still bloomed, Jiang Yun stood atop a peak, his white robes fluttering in the wind.
Calmly, he faced the tens of thousands of soldiers surrounding him.
âSword Immortal Jiang Yun, still as elegant as ever,â a loud voice called out. The Undying forces parted, and a man in a blood-black robe stepped forward.
âFifth Step into the Immortal Path,â Jiang Yunâs gaze darkened. âYou really sent someone impressive.â
âHow could we dare underestimate the Sword Immortal, the man who once fought a Grand Emperor and uttered the words âIn all the world, the sword path is but mediocreâ?â the robed man replied with a grin.
âMy battle with Qing Tian was just a friendly exchange. Later generations exaggerated it,â Jiang Yun said calmly. âBut taking my world, arenât you afraid of my revenge?â
âWhat happens in the Upper Realm is the concern of those above. We just follow orders,â the man replied confidently.
Jiang Yunâs gaze sharpened. He slowly bowed his head, and drew his sword.
The moment it was unsheathed, countless streams of sword aura echoed across the void.
