Hearing the stall owner’s words, Ji Ruobing felt a little sick. She looked at Xu Zimo and said, “I suddenly don’t feel like eating anymore.”
“What sells best here? Give a serving of that,” Xu Zimo smiled and sat down at the stall.
“You…” Ji Ruobing’s beautiful eyes glanced at him, and she snorted lightly.
The stall owner prepared the dumplings, and soon the steaming hot dumplings gave off a strong fragrance.
The stall was crude, but the craftsmanship was good.
Xu Zimo ate heartily, and while eating he asked, “Old man, has anything strange happened here recently?”
“What exactly does the guest an?” the stall owner asked with a smile.
“About the Blood Rune Beasts,” Xu Zimo didn’t beat around the bush.
The matter of the Blood Rune Beasts had already stirred up the City of Destruction. All the unfamiliar faces who had co recently were probably here because of it.
There was no way to hide it.
“Is young master buying information?” the stall owner laughed.
“Oh? You really have so?” Xu Zimo asked.
He had no leads and had just asked casually.
“I’ve been in this City of Destruction for three hundred years. Naturally, I know everything,” the stall owner said with a smile. “In this city, even the smallest trivial matters, I rember them clearly.”
“Then I’ll buy one. How much is it?” Xu Zimo asked.
“Recently more and more people have co to the City of Destruction. My at fillings seem to be running short,” the stall owner said to himself. “The gang leader of the Moon Shadow Gang in the eastern district might be a good choice.”
“Deal,” Xu Zimo put down his chopsticks, wiped the grease from the corner of his mouth, and stood up.
This ti the stall owner didn’t say anything more. He just silently boiled water, the bubbling sound rising.
Watching Xu Zimo head toward the eastern district, Ji Ruobing quickly followed after him.
“You actually believe that stall owner?” Ji Ruobing said.
“He’s just a dumpling seller. What if he’s playing you?”
“How would I know if I don’t try?” Xu Zimo replied.
“There are so many people on that street. You could ask anyone, but you chose to believe a dumpling seller?” Ji Ruobing complained.
“Because he’s the only one I couldn’t see through,” Xu Zimo said, turning his head.
If one wanted to find traces of the Blood Rune Beasts, they couldn’t go the usual route.
So many outsiders had already co into the City of Destruction by now, and the common channels and thods must have been tried long ago.
Even if there really were Blood Rune Beasts, it wouldn’t be their turn.
But that stall owner’s aura was vast like a deep sea. Xu Zimo actually couldn’t see through him.
So he had tested him with a question.
This city was full of hidden dragons and crouching tigers. Clearly, that stall owner was no simple person.
“Moon Shadow Gang, by the na it seems to be related to the Moon Shadow Race,” Xu Zimo said.
“Why not just ask soone and find out,” Ji Ruobing said.
Arriving at the eastern district, this place seed even more chaotic than before.
In many places on the street there were fights, but the passersby had long since beco indifferent. They just walked past as if nothing was happening.
At that mont, a rumbling sound shook the ground.
It was as if the entire earth was trembling.
The people on the street looked up. From the left and right intersections, two massive groups of people rushed in.
Their steps were uniform. Each step they took produced a sharp, ringing sound.
“The Minotaur Gang and Moon Shadow Gang are at it again! Everyone hide quickly!” soone shouted.
Instantly the people in the street scattered in all directions.
So hid in the shops along the street, so in dark alleys, and others on rooftops.
In just a few minutes, the once busy street was cleared and beca cold and empty.
Xu Zimo and Ji Ruobing also found a rooftop to hide on, along with a few others.
“Another show to watch. This ti, who do you think will win?” soone nearby said.
It seed they were so used to this scene that they treated it as entertainnt.
“Friends, we’re new here in the City of Destruction. Could you tell us what’s happening down there?” Xu Zimo asked as he stepped forward.
The group glanced at Xu Zimo and Ji Ruobing. One of the n smiled and said, “Your wife looks really good.”
“Wife?” Xu Zimo was taken aback, then glanced at Ji Ruobing and shook his head with a smile. “We’re just traveling companions.”
Originally Ji Ruobing’s face had been slightly flushed, but when she heard Xu Zimo’s explanation, her expression imdiately turned calm again, and she gave a light snort.
“Then can I get to know this beauty?” the man looked at Ji Ruobing and quickly asked with a grin.
“Piss off,” Ji Ruobing replied bluntly.
“Feisty. I like that kind of personality,” the man licked his lips and laughed.
“You still haven’t answered my question,” Xu Zimo said from the side.
“Oh, you an the Moon Shadow Gang and Minotaur Gang,” the man said, still staring at Ji Ruobing. “They’re the two biggest gangs in the eastern district. They often fight each other over small matters. We’re already used to it.”
“Do you know where the Moon Shadow Gang leader is?” Xu Zimo asked.
“Of course, in their headquarters,” the man said.
“The leader of the Moon Shadow Gang is called Qin Luo. They say he’s an elder of the Moon Shadow Race.”
“Got it,” Xu Zimo nodded with a smile.
Then he lifted his right foot and stomped hard on the man’s right hand.
“Ah!” the man scread in pain, unable to react in ti.
With four sharp cracks, the man’s four limbs were crushed by Xu Zimo’s foot.
“Next ti, don’t harass my people, especially in front of .”
After saying that, Xu Zimo kicked the man off the rooftop.
The battle below had already devolved into chaos. When they saw the man fall, no one cared. In the lee, he was hacked to pieces.
“Let’s go,” Xu Zimo said to Ji Ruobing.
Her lips curved into a faint smile, and she silently followed behind Xu Zimo.
“Are you planning to just charge in directly?” Ji Ruobing asked.
“What else?” Xu Zimo asked back.
“You haven’t even investigated the Moon Shadow Gang’s strength. What if you get trapped?” Ji Ruobing said.
“Shouldn’t you at least scout things out first?”
“I don’t want to waste ti,” Xu Zimo shook his head. “Besides, I already have a plan.”
As he spoke, Xu Zimo looked at Ji Ruobing with a mischievous expression.
“What are you planning?” Ji Ruobing said warily. “You’re not thinking of having seduce soone, are you?”
“You’re overthinking it,” Xu Zimo shook his head and laughed.
He said, “You’ll charge into the Moon Shadow Gang and draw everyone’s attention. Then I’ll sneak in and kill the gang leader. Wouldn’t that solve everything neatly? No need to bother with anything else.”
“When you punished that man earlier, I silently thanked you,” Ji Ruobing said. “So this was your plan all along.”
