This was an inn. He looked up at the ceiling and caught a glimpse of a shadow beside him from the corner of his eye.
“If you can walk, then leave as soon as possible.”
A voice suddenly sounded from nearby.
Liu Changfeng rembered it clearly, it was the voice of the young man he t in the tree earlier that day.
So he had co to the right place.
“Brother Xu,” he chuckled softly.
The smile pulled at the muscles on his face, making him wince in pain.
He began to slowly gather his spiritual energy to treat his wounds.
As for the damage to his life image, that wasn’t sothing that could heal quickly, so he left it aside for now.
After about ten minutes, Liu Changfeng opened his eyes.
His pupils appeared vertical, and he exhaled a long breath of white air.
At this mont, he could move his body a little.
He quickly stood up and bowed deeply to Xu Zimo.
Sincerely, he said, “Thank you, Brother Xu, for saving my life.”
“I didn’t save you out of kindness. I just didn’t want you dying in my room and causing trouble,” Xu Zimo replied calmly.
“No matter what, I’ll always rember this life-saving favor,” Liu Changfeng replied seriously.
“How did you find ?” Xu Zimo asked.
“I could sll your scent, Brother Xu. I followed it here,” Liu Changfeng said.
“You’re really bold. Aren’t you afraid I’d turn you in to the city lord?” Xu Zimo asked.
“I am afraid. But in this city, you’re the only one I know,” Liu Changfeng replied. “So I had to take a chance. Luckily, I wasn’t wrong about you.”
“Alright, enough with the emotional talk. We’re not that close. I just don’t like dealing with trouble. Since you can walk, leave quickly,” Xu Zimo said calmly.
“Brother Xu, could I ask you for a favor?” Liu Changfeng asked hurriedly.
“No,” Xu Zimo replied without hesitation, waving his hand.
“If you’re willing to help escape Brightsky City, our Sea Serpent Race will agree to any request you have,” Liu Changfeng said, unwilling to give up.
“Sounds nice, but your Sea Serpent Race doesn’t interest ,” Xu Zimo shook his head slightly.
“Then what do you want, Brother Xu? As long as I have it, I’ll give it to you,” Liu Changfeng said quickly.
“I want the Supre-Yang Solar-Illumination. You got that?” Xu Zimo replied casually, half joking.
Hearing this, Liu Changfeng suddenly fell silent.
After a long pause, he nodded and said, “I do.”
Xu Zimo was montarily stunned.
In that mont, Liu Changfeng suddenly felt an overwhelming aura radiate from Xu Zimo.
Under that aura, Liu Changfeng felt like a lone boat drifting in a vast ocean.
He had no power to resist.
“Do you even know what the Supre-Yang Solar-Illumination is?” Xu Zimo asked calmly.
“Who in the Primordial Heartlands doesn’t know the story of the Supre-Yang Solar-Illumination and the Supre-Yin Nether-Glow?” Liu Changfeng responded.
“Do you understand what you’re saying?” Xu Zimo stared into Liu Changfeng’s eyes and asked seriously.
“To be honest, I’m not sure if it’s the real Supre-Yang Solar-Illumination. But our ancestors predicted that the object is related to it,” Liu Changfeng replied. “It’s been kept in our race for years, and we’ve never figured it out. If you want it, I don’t mind giving it to you. But you have to help return to the Sea Serpent Race.”
“You have no idea what happens if you lie to ,” Xu Zimo said, turning to look at Liu Changfeng. “Trust , it’s sothing you don’t want to find out.”
“I’m not lying,” Liu Changfeng replied. “That object is definitely connected to the Supre-Yang Solar-Illumination.”
Xu Zimo nodded slightly and walked to the door.
“Where are you going?”
“To the Sea Serpent Race.”
At the stairway on the second floor, Liu Changfeng quickly grabbed Xu Zimo, panicking.
“A-are you crazy?! They’re hunting everywhere out there. If we walk out now, we’ll be caught before even leaving the inn.”
“If you trust , just follow. I’ll make sure you’re fine,” Xu Zimo said calmly.
Watching Xu Zimo’s back as he went downstairs, Liu Changfeng hesitated for a mont, then gritted his teeth and followed.
...
The street outside the inn was a bit quiet, though from ti to ti, guards from the city lord’s mansion passed by.
They searched every dark corner.
Xu Zimo and Liu Changfeng had just stepped into the street when they were blocked by a group of patrolling guards.
“Stop! What are you doing out here?” the lead guard asked, eyeing the two n.
“Leaving the city,” Xu Zimo replied flatly.
“The gates are sealed. No one is allowed to leave. Let check you,” the guard said irritably, reaching for Xu Zimo.
“So noisy,” Xu Zimo snorted coldly.
In the silent darkness, two sharp “clang” sounds rang out.
A dazzling blade light flashed through the air.
Blood sprayed in the night.
Liu Changfeng looked to the side and saw that, at so point, the entire group of guards had collapsed in a pool of blood.
“You’re forcing your way out?!” Liu Changfeng imdiately realized and shouted.
“What’s so fun about dealing with ants?” Xu Zimo looked up, holding Shadow Tyrant, and walked step by step toward the city gate.
His aura grew stronger with every step he took.
Black demonic energy flowed around his body and along the edge of Shadow Tyrant.
The blade trembled slightly, as if eager for battle and slaughter.
Xu Zimo’s footsteps were light, like a gentle breeze passing by.
On both sides of the road, tall trees stood lush and green.
As the two of them walked toward the city gate, shouting could be heard behind them.
“Soone’s been killed on Central Street! The Sea Serpent Race is here!”
...
Dark clouds had unknowingly covered the half-moon in the sky.
The night grew darker.
Xu Zimo looked up at the heavy city gate in front of him, and at the rows of guards surrounding him on all sides.
He smiled faintly.
“Tonight, the blade will not sleep.”
Blood Butcher Wen Liangong, accompanied by Luo Xiongying, slowly descended from above.
With a faint laugh, he said, “So, you had a partner after all.”
Xu Zimo looked up and grinned at Wen Liangong. “You want to die?”
“Take him down. Dead or alive,” Wen Liangong ordered with a frown.
As his words fell, all the surrounding guards charged at Xu Zimo and Liu Changfeng.
Shouts filled the air, deafening like thunder.
The noise surged like a wave, seemingly unstoppable.
Xu Zimo slowly raised his head. In that mont, pale blue arcs of electricity flashed in his eyes.
A terrifying power seed to lurk deep in his gaze.
As thunder cracked, it felt like the very space in front of him shattered and collapsed.
