“What about the Undying Poison Beast? How should I find it?” Xu Zimo asked again.
If he didn’t know where the Undying Poison Beast was, he would have to start searching from scratch. What difference would this clue make then, having it or not?
Water God Gongtu gave a wry smile. “To be honest, I’m not entirely sure either.”
“That’s a bit of a scam, isn’t it?” Xu Zimo narrowed his eyes.
“Wait, don’t get upset,” Gongtu quickly replied. “The Undying Poison Beast is drawn to places filled with toxins. When you reach the Absolute God Heaven, look for lands of great poison, you’ll have a good chance of finding it there.”
Hearing this, Xu Zimo’s expression softened a little, and he nodded slightly. “Well, that’s at least sothing useful.”
“Then, may I trouble you for one more favor?” Gongtu said with a weak smile.
“Now you’re pushing it, aren’t you?” Xu Zimo glanced at him. “Go on, let’s hear it first.”
He rose into the air. The explosion from the red giant earlier hadn’t destroyed all the red n. Their tide had broken, and many of them were trying to flee.
At this point, Gongtu’s strength was nearly spent, making it the perfect mont for them to escape.
But Xu Zimo wasn’t about to let that happen.
He stepped through the air, Shadow Tyrant in his hand, moving like a reaper harvesting lives. With every swing of his blade and surge of the Myriad Streams, another red man fell.
Those who saw him ca apart in terror, fleeing in panic as if Death himself pursued them.
Xu Zimo followed them unhurriedly but relentlessly.
Eventually, when the last of the red n was slain, their corpses lted into pools of flowing water that rged back into the bodies of the blue n.
After all, the red n and the Myriad Streams were originally one, they had rely been twisted by mutation. Gongtu’s cultivation error had created them.
Now that their consciousness had perished, it was only natural they return to the waters from which they ca.
When all was finished, Xu Zimo returned to Gongtu’s side with a faint smile. “All right, what is it you want from ?”
“This Myriad Streams was ant to be left for the Fire God Race,” Gongtu said with a weary smile.
Now that it was under Xu Zimo’s control, Gongtu had no way to reclaim it.
As the saying goes, it’s easy to invite a god, but hard to send one away. Asking Xu Zimo to hand back such a treasure was like trying to snatch food from a tiger’s mouth.
“Would you be willing to leave the Myriad Streams behind, to nd the Fire God Race’s flaws?” Gongtu asked hopefully.
“No problem,” Xu Zimo said with an easy smile.
The reply left Gongtu montarily stunned and doubtful. Had he misjudged this man?
“Truly?” he asked uncertainly. “You’re really willing to do that, Young Master Xu?”
“Primordial Fla, that fellow probably wants this power more than anyone,” Xu Zimo said lightly. “What if I hand it to him personally? He’s now the only Infinite Dao cultivator of the Fire God Race, leading their entire people.”
Hearing that, Gongtu imdiately understood. Xu Zimo wasn’t being generous, he was planning to use this to leverage Primordial Fla.
What kind of price would the Fire God Race’s leader have to pay to obtain this treasure?
It didn’t take much imagination, Primordial Fla would be bleeding for it.
But Gongtu had no choice. All he could do now was entrust his hopes to the Fire God Race itself. His remaining God-Soul was fading quickly.
“The Myriad Streams may not be of great use to you, Young Master,” Gongtu said solemnly, “but to my Fire God Race, it is salvation itself. Please, keep your promise. My people will be grateful for generations to co.”
“Don’t worry,” Xu Zimo said, waving his hand. “Go in peace.”
Gongtu sighed softly. His soul could no longer endure, its light scattered and slowly disappeared into nothingness.
Xu Zimo summoned Paimon and the others again.
He looked up at the vast world around him.
Water God Gongtu was dead. The fire people were gone.
Everyone who needed to die had died.
Now, without the sustaining power of the Myriad Streams, the entire world began to collapse.
He extended his right hand, spirit energy forming the shape of a small pigeon.
“Go back to Ocean Sage City,” he murmured. “Tell Violet Mist and Shangguan Xian, see you in the Radiant Lands.”
The pigeon nodded and flitted away through the void toward Ocean Sage City.
Xu Zimo gazed out over the world as it began to break apart.
The skies split open with countless cracks.
A particle world was falling into ruin.
All things have their beginning and their end, that is the law of existence.
Xu Zimo did not resist.
He allowed the world to perish, his figure rging into its collapsing ruins.
The void shattered. Following its fractures, he began to drift endlessly through the nothingness.
After such a fierce battle, he was utterly exhausted.
He ignored everything else and fell into a deep sleep.
Wherever he would drift, he had no control.
…
Warm sunlight fell across his face.
Xu Zimo slowly opened his eyes.
He had slept deeply, but his body finally felt at ease.
He stood up and stretched, letting out a long yawn.
Only then did he notice, he was standing on the deck of a flying airship.
All around him, a group of white-robed figures watched warily.
“You’re awake?” a man nearby approached, speaking kindly.
Seeing no hostility, Xu Zimo asked blankly, “Where am I?”
“You’re aboard an airship of the Ancient Eternal God Realm,” the man explained. “One day, you fell out of a rift in the void and landed right here.”
“I’m Lu Wuming, the senior disciple of the Ancient Eternal God Realm. And you are?”
“Xu Zimo.”
“Brother Xu, you’re human, aren’t you?” Lu Wuming asked curiously.
“Aren’t you all human too?” Xu Zimo said with a grin.
“In this Inferno Crucible Heaven, we humans must look out for each other,” Lu Wuming said, turning to the white-robed group still on guard. “Everyone relax. Brother Xu is a friend, not a foe.”
Xu Zimo smiled faintly and looked toward the front of the ship. “Where are you headed?”
“The Fire God Race’s Ancestral Lands are about to open,” Lu Wuming replied with a smile. “We’re going to the Radiant Lands, of course. Would you like to co with us?”
“Sure,” Xu Zimo said with a chuckle.
That worked out perfectly, it was exactly where he needed to go.
Just then, footsteps approached from within the ship.
A white-robed woman appeared, her aura cold as ice. Even her gaze seed like frost that had endured ten thousand winters.
She looked at Xu Zimo and said calmly, “Now that you’re awake, stay or leave as you wish, but don’t cause trouble.”
Xu Zimo frowned slightly at her abrupt tone, but she turned and left without waiting for a response.
Lu Wuming gave an embarrassed smile. “Please don’t take it personally, Brother Xu.”
