When Xu Zimo spoke, Long Wulin still looked puzzled. But seeing him stride away quickly, she had no choice but to follow.

As Xu Zimo hurried out of the City Lord’s mansion, the rumbling sounds near the city walls grew louder and louder, like the approach of ten thousand troops shaking the heavens and the earth.

“The Water Beasts are attacking!” Long Wulin exclaid. Even she, no matter how naive, now understood what was happening.

She turned anxiously to Xu Zimo. “I must report this to my father at once!”

“No need,” Xu Zimo replied calmly. “Dragon Lord must already know. Let’s go watch the show.”

“What show? This is a mont of crisis for the city, and you’re still so relaxed!” she snapped. “I forgot, you’re not one of us here in Ocean Sage City.”

“You needn’t be angry,” Xu Zimo said, waving a hand. “If you don’t like it, you can stay away from . I never asked you to follow.”

“My father ordered it,” she retorted.

“That doesn’t work on ,” Xu Zimo replied with a casual flick of his wrist.

While they spoke, they had already reached the city walls.

The people of Ocean Sage City, facing this danger, were more united than ever. Everyone was on edge, whispering anxiously among themselves.

“What’s going on? Why are the Water Beasts suddenly attacking Ocean Sage City?”

“They haven’t co for a long ti, have they? They can’t breach the city, no need to worry.”

“Yes, the Saint Sovereign is still here. We’re safe.”

“But didn’t the City Lord say the Saint Sovereign is leaving? Maybe that’s why the Water Beasts dared to attack!”

“Then we must beg the Violet Mist Saint Sovereign not to leave us!”

Hearing these words all around, Xu Zimo shook his head slightly.

Only weak n pinned their hopes on others.

Dragon Lord clearly understood that better than anyone.

At that mont, he stood atop the city wall in golden dragon armor, radiant and unyielding. Under the sunlight, the armor glead like living fire.

Surrounding him were rows of soldiers, ready for battle, each gripping an iron-forged arrow, their faces fierce and resolute.

When Xu Zimo reached the battlents, Long Wulin ran off to find her father, while Xu Zimo looked down over the wall.

Before him stretched a vast sea of blue.

The entire world seed subrged in that endless azure.

The Water Beast army had gathered in full force.

It was an overwhelming sight, at least a million beasts, advancing silently until now, suddenly appearing within striking distance of the city.

The fact that they had co this close unnoticed was even more alarming.

Fortunately, the sea surrounded Ocean Sage City on all sides. The waves roared and surged, a natural barrier.

Whenever the beasts rushed forward, the seawater devoured them; contact with water lted them completely.

Even so, countless Water Beasts threw themselves forward, using the corpses of their fallen as stepping stones to cross.

As more and more made it through, Dragon Lord raised his hand and shouted, “Loose the arrows!”

At once, thousands of arrows infused with water energy shot out, streaking through the air. As they neared the Water Beasts, they detonated, each one exploding into sprays of destructive force.

These were arrows specially designed by Dragon Lord, crafted for slaying Water Beasts.

The tactic proved effective. Despite the enemy’s vast numbers, the combination of the sea’s defense and the barrage of explosive arrows held the line for the mont.

Dragon Lord made his way toward Xu Zimo, smiling faintly. “What does Young Master Xu think?”

“Think about what?” Xu Zimo asked.

“The purpose of this attack,” Dragon Lord said.

“Probably revenge,” Xu Zimo replied. “Those creatures you captured earlier must’ve drawn attention. The Water Beasts are testing the city’s defenses. They’ve never really given up on Ocean Sage City.”

“I’ve known that,” Dragon Lord said grimly. “But I don’t understand how they approached so silently. Not a single report reached .”

“That’s not difficult to explain,” Xu Zimo said. “A combination of teleportation formations and illusion barriers.”

“Perhaps,” Dragon Lord said with a sigh. “But I always thought the Water Beasts lacked intelligence. That’s been their weakness.”

He glanced down again. Millions of beasts had already died, yet the rest showed no fear.

“They’re becoming more organized,” he murmured. “Disciplined, like a true army. And utterly fearless. Tell , who wouldn’t be afraid of such a force?”

“How about this,” Xu Zimo said with a smile. “Before leaving, why not let the Violet Mist Saint Sovereign give you a parting gift, or rather, a farewell gift for all of Ocean Sage City?”

“What do you an?” Dragon Lord blinked, not quite following.

“Have you ever seen the Violet Mist Saint Sovereign fight?” Xu Zimo asked.

Dragon Lord shook his head slowly.

Just then, a soft laugh ca from nearby.

“Just as the young master suggests,” a calm voice said. “Before I go, I might as well stretch these old bones of mine.”

Light blossod beneath the Saint Sovereign’s feet, an ethereal violet glow that spread through the heavens. Step by step, he walked forward from the wall, surrounded by radiance.

Everyone who looked up at him did so with awe.

Such was the absolute reverence commanded by a Saint Sovereign.

“Saint Sovereign,” Dragon Lord said cautiously, “you an...?”

“Yes,” the Saint Sovereign nodded. “I’ll deal with these Water Beasts for you.”

“That would be most welco,” Dragon Lord said, bowing slightly. “Do you need our help?”

“No need,” said the Saint Sovereign. “I only wish to see who’s commanding them this ti.”

With that, he rose into the sky.

Violet light flooded the heavens, so bright it eclipsed the sun itself.

The people of Ocean Sage City gazed upward, not at the sun, not at the sky, but at the figure blazing with boundless brilliance.

“The Saint Sovereign has taken action! We’re saved!” soone cried.

“Look, watch how the Saint Sovereign destroys the Water Beasts! This might be the only ti in our lives we see him fight!”

The crowd swelled, pressing toward the city walls to witness the scene.

Xu Zimo lifted his head as well.

As the Saint Sovereign ascended, the rampaging Water Beasts fell silent.

It was as if they sensed the presence of sothing overwhelmingly dangerous.

They looked up, wary, trembling, but defiant.

The Saint Sovereign didn’t even glance at them.

In his eyes, they weren’t worth notice.

He walked through the air, moving past the front lines of beasts, heading toward their rear ranks.

Then his voice rang through the heavens, majestic and unshakable.

“Who hides among you? Show yourself.”

His voice echoed across the void, but no one answered.

Instead, the Water Beasts suddenly went berserk again, roaring and surging forward, hamring the city walls in madness, yet ignoring the Saint Sovereign entirely.

Seeing this, the Saint Sovereign’s expression hardened.

He let out a low, resonant hum of disapproval.

With a single motion of his right hand, a vast surge of violet energy swept across the sky,
