As for Ashimaru, he was just a dium to enhance the body and increase the strength after transformation.

see." Nagasawa gestured for Ensui to proceed.

Ensui quickly made hand seals, first using the Shadow Clone Jutsu. A part of his Shadow Clone rose, and when the shadow clone reached the iron pillar, Ensui suddenly made another hand seal. In an instant, Ensui disappeared from his original position and re-erged in front of the iron pillar, while the shadow clone was standing where Ensui stood earlier, effectively switching places.

"So fast." Kakashi realized that, even with his Sharingan, he couldn't see how Ensui moved from one point to another. It was not a regular Body Flicker Technique; it had elents of space-ti manipulation.
