Boom! Boom! Boom!
Mannequins crashed onto the ground, colliding fiercely with the hard cent surface, causing their brittle shells to suffer varying degrees of damage.
They struggled to get up, picking up the scattered limbs, and continued to charge at Qin Nuo.
Qin Nuo sidestepped one of the mannequin's attacks. Despite being wooden, its limbs unleashed terrifying strength, smashing through a nearby statue, sending stone dust and cent flying.
With a flick of his right hand, he swung the Bone-Crushing Hamr, sending the mannequin flying and shattering it to pieces.
Mannequins kept lunging at Qin Nuo, only to be sent flying like porcelain dolls, scattering across the ground.
However, a small paper figure erged from the debris, extending dense red veins that stitched the broken parts back together like glue, forcing them to reassemble and continue their assault.
Qin Nuo retreated to a corner of the biological garden, surrounded, when a shadow appeared from behind—it was Li Qianqian.
Li Qianqian moved swiftly, her limbs bursting with terrifying ghost power, destroying the mannequins behind her.
"What's this girl doing here in the middle of the night?"
Qin Nuo wondered, his gaze falling on the mannequins that were destroyed and then reassembled: "The paper figure is the core; the mannequins are just shells."
Qin Nuo purchased a whole box of bone nails from the System's shop. They were expensive, but as the owner of several convenience stores, money was easily obtainable and seed trivial now.
With his right hand's index and ring fingers, he flicked the bone nails, launching them with bullet-like speed.
Strong power, high precision!
The bone nails pierced through the wooden shells, accurately nailing the paper figures attached to the mannequins' backs. Black arcs of electricity surged, and the paper figures were instantly covered in sparks, turning to ashes and dissipating in the chilly night wind.
Bone nails shot out, transforming into cold glimrs in the night. Each ti they pierced a mannequin, it scattered to the ground, no longer reassembling.
In just a few minutes, the campus fell silent.
The ground was littered with mannequin fragnts. Li Qianqian was sowhat troubled; a single mannequin was a headache for her. Every ti it fell apart, it would reassemble before she could walk away.
A bone nail pierced through, and the mannequin scattered to the ground.
Li Qianqian walked over, picked up the mannequin's head, her eyes filled with curiosity and confusion.
From the complex building behind, a clamor arose again. Qin Nuo said to Li Qianqian, "Stop looking, those annoying things are coming again."
Li Qianqian also saw the shadows darting upstairs and nodded, following Qin Nuo out of the campus.
Back at the dormitory, Qin Nuo was slightly out of breath, his body sore and numb, a sign of lack of exercise.
Li Qianqian, however, was calm, glancing back and asking, "What were those things just now?"
"Who knows? By the way, what are you doing here?" Qin Nuo asked casually, having caught his breath.
"I happened to pass by and heard the commotion, so I ca over," Li Qianqian's eyes avoided his.
"It's three in the morning now. Don't tell you couldn't sleep and decided to take a walk, and just happened to walk into the campus?" Qin Nuo said with a bit of amusent.
Li Qianqian lowered her head, seemingly unsure of how to respond, and said, "I'll head back now."
"Girl, there's no need to keep following . Although you an well, it complicates my life," Qin Nuo said, adjusting his glasses.
"It won't be a bother. I'll just watch from a distance and won't disturb you," Li Qianqian's voice grew softer, as if she were embarrassed.
"Do you have special feelings for ?" Qin Nuo asked directly, not bothering to beat around the bush.
Li Qianqian didn't speak, her face buried so low it almost touched her chest.
"Do you think it's possible? Not to ntion our age difference, I'm a teacher with ntal issues, prone to sudden outbursts that could harm those around ."
"So I've tried to isolate myself, living in my own world to avoid hurting others."
"You're too young to understand these complex emotions. You'll understand when you're older. Besides, I don't want to go to jail; that's a three-year minimum."
Qin Nuo spoke earnestly, fully understanding the situation.
Li Qianqian's feelings weren't simple admiration. Her world was gray, and any ray of color could shake her entire inner world. She would protect anyone who treated her well with all her might.
Li Xiaoming disappeared from her life, and now Liang Zisu beca her target of protection, her sole source of color.
To be honest, this was a form of ntal illness, though not easily noticeable and lacking strong abnormal manifestations.
"Teacher, do you dislike ?" After a while, Li Qianqian spoke, her voice small, tinged with inferiority and disappointnt.
"A teacher never dislikes any of their students, especially a student like you. Your life needs guidance, and your closed inner world needs to open."
Qin Nuo brushed through his dry, split hair. Li Qianqian lifted her head, her cheeks slightly flushed, but her features were delicate—a beauty in the making, just not adept at grooming.
"Go back and get a good night's sleep."
"If you have any concerns, you can talk to directly. You should be more confident. Go back and tidy up your hair, straighten your spine, lift your face. You're not so ugly monster."
"An optimistic exterior can influence the interior."
Li Qianqian blinked, nodded, then took two Ghost Coins from her pocket and placed them in Qin Nuo's hand, "Teacher, this is for the buns."
"I told you before..." Qin Nuo looked at the two Ghost Coins in his palm, amused. When he looked up, Li Qianqian was already gone.
"What a cute girl."
Qin Nuo pocketed the Ghost Coins and turned back to his dormitory.
Inside, Qin Nuo removed his sweat-soaked shirt, took a shower in the bathroom, and ca out with a towel, drying his hair. He went to the fridge, grabbed a bottle of milk, and poured so cereal into a cup.
"A lot happened tonight, all directly related to the main storyline."
"Those little ghosts from the stage performance must be connected to that so-called principal."
"The puppets controlled by cursed paper figures targeting an that principal has his eyes on too."
Qin Nuo took a sip of the cereal milk, its taste sour yet rich with the rare pure flavor of milk in the Horror World.
Those cursed paper figures were like minor minions, not a real threat. It was more like the mysterious principal was testing him, surely hiding more cards.
"Tonight was just the appetizer; the real ga begins in the coming days."
"The words of that puppet doll suggest that sothing significant happened at this school. Who are these souls trapped by the paper figures? Why were they punished like this?"
Qin Nuo organized his thoughts, unknowingly finishing the milk. Just as he was about to get up to clean, the phone on the table rang.
Qin Nuo glanced at it; it was an unknown number.
Who would call him in the middle of the night?
