Qin Nuo had no idea what fate awaited the middle-aged woman upstairs, but he knew one thing for sure—Mo Fang was not a woman to be trifled with.

Especially when it ca to her son, her one true weakness.

Even Qin Nuo couldn't help but worry about what might happen if one day he failed in his role and she discovered he wasn't actually her son.

"Son, go do your howork," his mother said to Qin Nuo, then took a kitchen knife back to the kitchen to wash off the bloodstains.

Qin Nuo picked up his howork book and returned to his room.

Elentary school howork posed no challenge for Qin Nuo. He completed it at lightning speed, checked the ti, and according to his mother's strict schedule, he had fifteen minutes left before he had to take a shower.

This fifteen-minute break was certainly not to be wasted.

From the bottom drawer, Qin Nuo took out Li Xiaoming's collection of love letters and sifted through them to find all the letters from Li Qianqian.

He opened them one by one to read.

While appearances can be deceiving, handwriting can reveal a lot about a person.

From the words, Qin Nuo could basically tell what kind of girl Li Qianqian was.

Her love for Li Xiaoming was intense, yet her heart was pure.

She didn't use flowery language or play the gas of a manipulative girl; her expressions were very straightforward. She even stated in a few sentences that if Li Xiaoming didn't like her, it was okay. She would quietly watch over him from afar without causing him any trouble.

"A bit twisted, yet not quite like a sickly adorable type," Qin Nuo murmured.

He continued searching and found that Li Xiaoming had never replied to any of her letters. Many girls' letters had received responses, but Li Qianqian's were left in the corner of the drawer, covered in dust, and hadn't even been opened.

Clearly, Li Xiaoming had no interest in what Li Qianqian wrote, treating them like trash tossed aside.

"If he feels nothing, why did he stand up for this girl?"

Qin Nuo was puzzled, stuffing the letters back into the drawer, and continued to search elsewhere, hoping to find sothing.

Sure enough, among the neatly arranged study books, he found a small notebook that seed out of place.

The notebook contained so of Li Xiaoming's thoughts, like a diary but not quite, with not much written in it.

The first few pages described Li Xiaoming's excitent, thrill, and satisfaction from abusing small animals, with so parts detailed as if showing off.

"People with twisted minds find everyday things extrely dull, as if living in a gray world where everything around them is gray."

"In such an environnt, these people beco increasingly lonely and depressed, only finding interest in abnormal behaviors like abuse, fetishes, self-harm, etc., leading to psychological distortions and being labeled as perverts by ordinary people."

"Li Xiaoming is such a person."

Qin Nuo murmured, wondering why he knew these things.

He didn't know, perhaps he had read books investigating such people before.

Qin Nuo dared not think deeply about himself, as the thought was terrifying.

In the following pages, Qin Nuo found so notes about Li Qianqian from Li Xiaoming.

After reading, Qin Nuo was dumbfounded but finally understood what was going on.

Li Xiaoming, the so-called Aquaman, indeed had no feelings for Li Qianqian, the sloppy girl from a poor family.

The situation arose because one of Li Xiaoming's little girlfriends was bullied by so boys from another class. His hot temper flared up, and he imdiately grabbed a chair to fight them.

Coincidentally, Li Qianqian, who was being ostracized, was being bullied by those boys at the ti. Before they could react, Li Xiaoming and his gang had beaten them black and blue.

Grabbing one of the boys by the collar, Li Xiaoming said, "You dare bully my girl?"

After saying that, Li Xiaoming glanced at Li Qianqian and then left with his gang.

The simple-minded Li Qianqian naturally thought those words were ant for her, especially since Li Xiaoming had given her a aningful look before leaving.

In reality, Li Xiaoming had only just noticed another girl nearby. Seeing her sloppy appearance and pockmarked face, his inner thought was, "Where did this ugly freak co from? Scared to death."

After that, Li Qianqian clung to Li Xiaoming like a shadow, not closely but watching from afar. Even soone as psychologically twisted as Li Xiaoming found it horrifying.

He sent so of his gang to chase Li Qianqian away, but surprisingly, all his n were knocked down.

During that ti, Li Xiaoming had made quite a few enemies. In class, he played the role of a model student, but after class, he led his gang into fights.

Yet, those weeks were unusually calm. After investigating, Li Xiaoming realized that Li Qianqian had dealt with all his enemies.

Li Qianqian was a self-conscious girl who wouldn't fight back when bullied, but once she found soone who cared for her being bullied, she beca different.

After discovering this, Li Xiaoming stopped driving her away, using the misunderstanding to have Li Qianqian clear out those who got in his way.

Qin Nuo couldn't help but adjust his glasses. "This... is truly a perfect misunderstanding."

The only boy she thought cared about her was rely using her as a pawn.

Though Li Qianqian was a pitiful child, Qin Nuo had no intention of exposing this absurd misunderstanding.

Not to ntion that failing in his role would be disastrous, he could also use Li Qianqian to solve many problems, like Dr. Park in the infirmary.

"Son, it's ti for your shower."

Outside, his mother's voice called.

Qin Nuo responded, grabbed his clothes, and headed to the bathroom.

After his shower, he endured an eerie dinner. During this ti, Li Xiaoming had a leisure period, which was watching half an hour of TV.

Of course, in the Horror World, normal TV shows were rare.

On the sofa, Qin Nuo held a fruit platter, staring blankly at the snowy screen.

Li Xiaodong and Li Xiaodie sat in the corner, watching with great interest, while Li Xiaodie occasionally pointed at the TV, laughing loudly.

Her laughter was grating, and Qin Nuo felt irritated as he watched the clock on the wall.

When the ti hit nine, just as his mother was about to speak, Qin Nuo quickly stood up and said, "I know, Mom. Go back to my room, check my howork, drink a glass of milk, brush my teeth, wash my face, and go to bed, right?"

With that, Qin Nuo dashed to his room.

His mother smiled with satisfaction, but as soon as Qin Nuo returned to his room, her smile vanished, and she turned off the TV expressionlessly. Seeing her cold face, Li Xiaodong and Li Xiaodie said nothing and returned to their rooms.

Half an hour later, his mother silently appeared at the bedroom door.

This ti, the door wasn't locked.

She pushed it open, stood at the entrance without turning on the light, and just watched Qin Nuo, who was already in a deep sleep on the bed.

After a mont, a smile curled on her lips, and she closed the door.

Once the shadow in the doorway disappeared, Qin Nuo, who had been pretending to sleep soundly, opened his eyes.

In the darkness, his eyes shone brightly. Confirming his mother had left, he turned over and got out of bed...
