Entrance of No.1 Courtyard.

After the morning rush hour, the road was clear, and they quickly arrived at their destination.

Sun Zhidong picked up his phone, dialed the property manager’s number, and then saw a middle-aged man in a suit at the entrance answering the call.

"I see you, the white BMW at the entrance is ours."

He drove the car over, and under the direction of the property manager, parked it in the spot.

After Li Xiang got out of the car, he started inquiring about the situation with the property manager.

"Ah, don’t even ntion it, an owner ca to us early this morning, saying he was bitten on the hand by a black stray dog. He made quite a fuss in our property office, claiming he was bitten by a mad dog in the community, demanding compensation from us."

The property manager felt aggrieved, but there was nothing they could do.

There are quite a few pet owners in the community. So people keep pets for a while, then suddenly find it botherso and don’t want them anymore; they let them go, allowing them to wander around. Not only pet dogs and cats, but also stray dogs that sneak in through gaps in the wall or dog holes, it’s really hard to prevent them.

Most of their security guards are grandfathers in their sixties, not very agile themselves. Asking them to chase dogs, it’s hard to say who would end up chasing whom.

Now an owner got bitten by a dog in the community, finally coaxed the owner to the hospital for a rabies vaccine, which the property paid for, and this might not be the end; further compensations may be argued over.

Thinking of this gives the property manager a headache:

"To prevent the mad dog from biting people again, we can only ask you to co over and deal with the mad dog."

"Don’t worry, now that we’re here, the mad dog won’t harm anyone again. Where is the mad dog now?"

At this ti, Sun Zhidong had already taken out his bow from the trunk, strapping it on his back, and said to the property manager with a dramatic flair.

"The mad dog is now in the greenbelt in front of building 4; I have a security guard watching it there, let’s go."

The two followed the property manager, jogging, and quickly arrived in front of building 4 of No.1 Courtyard.

The property manager hurriedly asked after seeing the security guard grandfather: "Old Wang, where is the mad dog?"

"It’s lying behind that tree; I’m watching it."

Upon hearing this, Li Xiang followed the direction pointed by the security guard grandfather and saw the mad dog.

The mad dog lying under the tree raised its head upon seeing them approach, imdiately standing up alertly.

This was a stray dog, long-term malnutrition making its body very weak, yet it exhibited a fierce readiness to attack, baring its teeth at them and growling nacingly, its eyes a mix of red and blue, much like a hungry wolf’s gaze.

"So skinny, indeed it’s famished."

Sun Zhidong, while speaking, took out a compound bow from his backpack, grabbed a triangular arrow from the quiver, the arrowhead with blades on three sides, drew the bow fully, and squinted to aim at the mad dog.

"Xiang, watch your brother’s max-level archery skills."

At this mont, the mad dog seed to sense danger, turned its head, and ran away.

Seeing the prey about to escape, Sun Zhidong was eager and hastily released the arrow.

Whoosh~

The sharp arrow flew through the air with lightning speed, missing its target and hitting the ground.

"Damn, it’s pretty fast; Xiang, chase it!"

Li Xiang suddenly had a bewildered expression, feeling like a hunting dog with the command.

Didn’t sit well with him!

But before Li Xiang could think more, he saw the mad dog already heading for the hoowner’s activity plaza.

If not stopped, the mad dog could potentially harm more people, so he quickly said to Sun Zhidong: "There’s an activity plaza ahead with elderly people and children; don’t let the mad dog rush over and hurt anyone else."

Although Sun Zhidong loved to play, he wasn’t entirely mindless. Seeing the mad dog heading into the crowd, he quickly put away his bow and arrow, shouting to the crowd: "Move aside, be careful of the mad dog biting people."

His shout imdiately caused panic among the crowd; so children who feared dogs directly turned around to run, but in their haste, tripped over themselves and took a hard fall.

Seeing this, Li Xiang quickly snatched the rubber baton from the security guard grandfather’s hand, aid briefly, and threw it at the dog’s head.

With the aid of his advanced Stealing Skill, his throw was both far and accurate, striking the dog’s head, forcing it to change direction and seek refuge in the hallway.

"Xiang, well done! That was a good throw, almost as good as ."

Li Xiang rolled his eyes: "Your previous shot was crap; even my stick was better."

"I slipped earlier; it doesn’t count."

The two cooperated, chasing the mad dog into the hallway, where the narrow space could effectively limit its movent.

"Watch this shot."

Seeing the mad dog driven into a corner, Sun Zhidong wanted to restore his lost face, took his bow, and aid to shoot.

"Wait! I think this dog might be nursing."

Too late.

Li Xiang’s words were too late; only up close did he notice the fresh suckling marks on the mad dog’s belly, evidence of puppies feeding.

The arrow flew through the air, piercing the mad dog’s front leg, and shot through its abdon.

Attacked, the mad dog screeched in terror and quickly darted away between the two of them.

"So what if it’s nursing, it bit soone and that’s its fault; let’s hurry after it."

Sun Zhidong didn’t care, seeing the mad dog hit by his arrow, it clearly wouldn’t last long. The more fiercely it ran now, the more the triangular arrowhead wounds would let it bleed out faster.

The two followed the trail of blood, circling back to the front of building 4, the bloodstains increasing, leading through the foyer into the fire escape.

Getting closer, Li Xiang and the others could already hear the mad dog’s sorrowful whimpers.

Clearly, it was hiding in the fire escape, painfully waiting for life to fade away.

Upon entering, the environnt was very dark, totally obscuring vision, except for a pair of glowing eyes watchfully staring at them.

"I’ll turn on my flashlight. You better not go over just yet; it’s dark inside, getting bitten right before it dies won’t be worth it."

Sun Zhidong pulled Li Xiang back and then turned on the flashlight function of his phone.

Instantly, the dimly lit hallway brightened, revealing in the corner the wounded mad dog trembling and curling into the corner. Beneath it lay not only a pool of fresh blood but also a small black puppy with unopened eyes, desperately trying to crawl onto its mother’s belly, groping.

Clearly hungry, it wanted to nurse.

"Uh, it really is nursing!"

Seeing this scene, Sun Zhidong was a bit embarrassed. At any ti, under any circumstance, motherly love is always great.
