Under the analysis of Victorio, the creator of magical constructs, the mbers of the council felt a reduced fear of the god's descent. Unable to directly confront the false god for now, the focus shifted to finding ways to avoid direct contact.
The approach used by Master Lynn and the esteed council mbers, directly killing the casters, disrupting divine magic, or resorting to assassination to eliminate the top ranks of the Holy Church's Punishnt Legion and the Judges, was discussed fervently. Amidst this discussion, Lynn did not share the sa optimism.
Even if they attempted to avoid conflict as much as possible, facing that goddess was an eventuality they couldn't evade. Moreover, the clergy of the church couldn't be reasoned with logically. So zealots were utterly devoted, ready to sacrifice everything for their deity. Death to them might just an an early return to their god's embrace.
As for how to overco Aila, Lynn had begun forming so strategies. Since their adversary could manipulate magic, divine spells, and mimic atoms and molecules with unparalleled precision, attempting to defeat them on that level was simply wishful thinking. Their sole hope lay in taking an alternative route: delving into the more microscopic quantum realm to develop magic potent enough to slay a deity!
Just as Lynn was pondering this, Harof suddenly spoke up. "Master Lynn, regarding this war between the church and the kingdom, what might the Prophecy Guild think?"
At his words, the discussion in the chamber instantly quieted down. Raphael and others suddenly rembered that apart from the Wizard Council, the Prophecy Guild also had mbers involved in this conflict.
This was a powerful external reinforcent! Although they didn't know much about this mysterious wizard organization, they gleaned hints from various sources. The few mbers of the Prophecy Guild they knew of were all outstanding among wizards.
Lynn was an obvious example. Raised by one of the mbers of the Prophecy Guild, this young wizard had broken through as a grand wizard at a remarkably young age. Not only a grand wizard but excelling in nurology, force fields, elental control, and alchemy.
In the two years since arriving in the wizarding realm, Lynn had gained recognition as a magical prodigy, earning a Solar Crown and two Silver Moon dals. If not for their minimal contribution to shaping and potion-making, people might have deed Lynn omnipotent.
Then there was Anthony, a Hex Wizard, who independently developed powerful thunder magic, establishing a new school of magic that allowed official wizards to harness the might of lightning.
Lastly, there was Master Leibniz, who proposed calculus. His dispute with a wizard nad Zeno about a tortoise race had sparked debates across the wizarding world, touching upon concepts of motion, rest, finitude, and infinitude.
To Raphael, mbers of the Prophecy Guild were a cohort of highly talented, knowledgeable wizards. Among them might even exist legendary wizards. Should they be willing to sincerely cooperate with the council, their odds of overcoming the church would significantly rise.
Under the expectant gaze of the assembled mbers, Lynn carefully responded, "Regarding this war with the church, there are internal debates within the Prophecy Guild. While so are in favor, many remain observant. So believe that our strength alone might not suffice to defend the entire kingdom..."
As Lynn continued, Raphael and others understood that the Prophecy Guild was a loose academic organization, preferring to recruit scholarly researchers. They convened in their own small cosmos and often didn't even know each other's identities.
However, internal status and standing within the guild held little significance; knowledge reigned supre here!
The mbers of the Prophecy Guild held varying opinions about this war and were unlikely to mobilize masses like the council. Lynn, while outlining the guild's setup, was already considering the need to persuade more wizards from the kingdom and the empire to join the guild under the guise of its mbers, a tactic to navigate the situation.
"As for the leaders of the Prophecy Guild, I believe they might have so interest in that false deity," Lynn added.
"Could it be they desire to join the war against the church?" Harof expressed surprise, tinged with anticipation.
"I cannot say," Lynn shook their head.
Then, Aurora suddenly inquired, "I heard that when the Prophecy Guild allowed you into the wizarding realm, they entrusted you with the Ring of Secrets to be given to the wisest. So, did you give it to Harof?"
Lynn sensed the dissatisfaction in the witch's words and couldn't help but feel amused and puzzled. At that ti, they only knew Harof among the legendary wizards. Both Aurora and Victorio were experts in divination and alchemy, but not the most suitable candidates.
"The Prophecy Guild never declines individuals as knowledgeable as the esteed council mbers. The previous eting was just a preliminary contact and understanding. I believe you'll receive an invitation at the next discussion," Lynn reassured.
Aurora and Victorio nodded in agreent. They remained intrigued by the Prophecy Guild, while Harof was both eager and anxious. The last ti he attended a legendary assembly, he nearly made a fool of himself. The theories and conjectures about the formation of the world took him more than a year to comprehend...
The internal council eting lasted the entire morning. Aside from strategizing against the god's descent, discussions centered on whether to fortify the capital or launch a proactive campaign to reclaim lost territories, even advancing into the empire's borders.
Hatar had urged this several tis since almost half of the kingdom's territories were under enemy control, tarnishing the king's already faltering reputation!
Yet, this figurehead king evidently couldn't influence the council's decisions. After multiple deliberations, Lynn decided it was wiser to fortify for a while, especially focusing on ammunition production! During the defense of the capital, the Alchemy Association had developed a powerful weapon—the machine gun. Its performance on the battlefield was exceptional, with just three machine guns decimating hundreds of Punishnt Legion soldiers within a minute—an astounding achievent.
Considering that these soldiers had previously pushed back thousands of royal guards and musketeers but had now beco targets of the machine gun's firepower, maintaining ammunition supply could ensure their control over the war!
