It was deep in the night when the thunderous explosions woke up the people of Akansa. Everyone rushed outside to witness the giant fire that had brought down the Police Headquarters to its knees.

Asani ran outside of her house to observe from afar. Earth-shattering tremors could be felt even from her location. Waves and waves of wind blew past the residential area.

Dominic Renly and his fellow police officers, the deserters who left Adam at the beginning, all looked in the direction of the building.

"God damn! That guy is really wrecking the place!" A cop said.

"Can the Wraith actually win? Adam might be bad, but he is strong."

"Well, fellas. The only thing we can do now is wait and see." Dominic said.

Tremors and explosions connected one after another. The entire ground around that place felt like breaking. This made people wonder what was happening around that place.

In the Social Center of Akansa City, a lot of the girls that were rescued from the Roof had ended up here.

The girls turned into a chaotic crowd of panic when the tremors reached their location.

"Calm down! Calm down, girls! It’s alright. It is only a light earthquake. It will pass soon."

The head manager of the Social Center said. She’s a woman in her fifties with a large figure.

Most of the girls that ended up in the Social Center belonged to the group that had been led by Anne, the girls that thought of the Roof as their ho and Nadyr as their employer. Instead of seeing the truth.

It was only reasonable, as they were being held for too long, which caused their mind to be twisted by that darn place.

Adam didn’t do anything to sabotage these people. He had way too much on his mind to take care of these trivial things.

However, a lot of the local gangs had been keeping a close eye on this group of girls.

The other girls that still had their family had returned to their ho. But these girls were the people that had no one left to help them reintegrate into society. Therefore, they were the best candidates to fill up the slots for these gangs’ business.

The harassnt had beco so bad that the head manager had to order a curfew hour and shut all doors to prevent the gang mbers from infiltrating inside.

Tonight was no different, but the girls were being extra hard to deal with because of the tremors.

"Being imprisoned inside the Roof and now here! It’s prison! Prison everywhere!"

"Mr. Gold. Where are you? Why don’t you visit no more?"

"Let go! Let go!"

The head manager sighed with all her sorrow and desperation. Prior, they were joking that this center was too empty and had nothing to do. Then the place was filled with these hurt and broken girls.

The head manager wanted to help them, but it would take a long, long ti for them to even have a fraction of recovery.

"Miss Eriksen. What should we do now? Should we give them sothing to help with their sleep?" A nurse approached the head manager and whispered.

"No. Leave them be." Emily said. "We’re not prison guard. We are only here to help them."

Suddenly, their front door was kicked down, and several ard goons rushed into the building.

First, they hit the employees and tied them down. Then they blocked the main door to make sure no other people could get in or out.

"What are you doing? This place has no money for you to rob." Emily shouted while calling the police on her phone.

A goon stepped up and bashed the stock of a gun on Emily’s face, causing her to fall down on the floor and cry in pain.

"Shut the fuck up, bitch. We’re going to take these whores out of this place.

Boys! Take all the girls! Leave the uglies!"

"I’m afraid I won’t be able to let you do that."

A voice echoed through the place. All the goons turned toward the sound to see a man in a black outfit. He covered half his face with cloth, only showing his two blazing eyes.

William D’Angelo, forr leader of the Nocturnal Animals. Now, only known as Snake.

"Snake. You?" Emily lifted her head up and saw William. Hope imdiately filled her face.

The people of the Social Center knew William. He just showed up earlier today to help them and even gave a huge amount of money. He truly tried to help these poor girls.

William nodded gently to Emily and then focused his gaze on the goons.

"Leave now. This is no place for you."

"What is this lunatic..."

Before the goon could even finish his sentence, William’s two feet flared up. He dashed into the crowd of criminals. With his fiery feet, William beca a tornado of fire.

Screaming and breaking noise filled the hallway of the building.

The night continued, and the more and more tremors spread out. It had gone so bad that the City Council reacted for the first ti and ordered every force within the city to co to the Police Headquarters for the rescue.

Present.

The military and police from other sections flood into the inner yard. What was a beautiful yard with trim green bushes is now a ruin of rock and dust. There are holes everywhere on the ground, leading deep into the sewer.

The awful sll of it reaches even the surface.

The building of the Police Headquarters is decimated. The front is completely destroyed. Dread fills the hearts of every man that cos through here.

"What’s even happening here?"

"We found sothing, sir! It looks like it belongs to the perpetrator!"

"Show !"

And then they co to the spot Blaze left the word. On the ground, giant letters spell out ’Fear the na of the Wraith, sinners’.

"The Wraith... So he has co for Adam."

"Are you talking about the one who destroyed the Roof, sir?"

"That’s right. It is not a secret that Commissioner Adam is a crooked cop. The Wraith must have learned this from the Roof and ca here to finish the job."

"Sergeant! The Commissioner is alive!"

"What? Lead to him."

At this ti, Blaze is already ho. He carefully sneaks into the house, afraid of waking up Kana. But to his surprise, Alyson is in his house watching TV.

He sneaks up behind her and grabs her shoulder. Alyson jumps up and imdiately blossoms her mane. But she calms down imdiately when she sees the one behind is Blaze.

Blaze has removed all his equipnt so Alyson was able to recognize him.

"Why are you here?" Blaze says.

"I’m bored, okay?"

"Really? I thought you ca because you miss ."

"I didn’t say I don’t."

Blaze smirks, reaching his hand out with the intention of rubbing her head. Unfortunately for him, Alyson stands up just in ti for his hand to collide with her chest.

A crimson cloud fills Alyson’s face, and she drops down on the sofa, arms wrapping around her chest.

Blaze is frozen. "I... I didn’t an to do that."

Alyson turns her head away, trying to hide her face away from him. "It’s alright... But if you want it... tell first next ti..."

Blaze turns to stone again, trying to process what she’s saying in his brain. It’s not like he doesn’t understand it. He is just taken aback by her boldness.

Well, she has always been like this. Even when Blaze was an ordinary person without power, she was always upfront. It’s just that Blaze had always refused her emotion.

He sits down beside Alyson and pulls her inside his arms.

"I have to ask. I am curious about why you liked back in the day."

"Liked you? I still like you."

"Yeah, my mistake. What’s your answer though?"

"It’s hard to explain. I have a feeling like we’ve known each other for a long ti."

"A long ti?"

"Yeah. It’s like you have appeared in my dream... a lot."

Alyson covers her face, afraid to look Blaze in the eyes.

Blaze’s lips curl into a smile, his fingertips caressing her cheeks. The dim room is pierced by the ethereal glow of her eyes, pools of starlight shimr with a hypnotic intensity. They hold galaxies in their depths.

Her red hair flows freely, each strand alive with the vibrancy of a wildfire. The fiery hue mirrors her spirit, untad, radiant, and unyielding.

Her skin glimrs like porcelain, soft yet electric, as if her very essence radiates warmth. Her lips, parted slightly, blush the faintest red.

"I have never believed in fate before. But I saw many things these recent days that changed my mind.

Maybe we really are ant to et each other."

Blaze kisses her gently on the forehead.

"I’m going to sleep now."

"Can I join you?"

"No."
