Chapter 484: The First Grudging Truce
One would expect those words to floor Kassie, and Maggie at least should have flinched. But strangely, both of them just sat there, silent.
Not even a word.
And after I blurted the words out, a loud silence stretched for a dozen seconds. Before Kassie finally spoke.
“We figured that much out. We know, and are already used to, how perverted you are. That is one thing you are not going to lose, it seems. Even now, your genuineness to yourself leaves me rather speechless.”
‘That’s Kassie for you.’
“You said you want to feel loved by us. Are you sure that is what you want?”
I held Kassie’s gaze and started to speak, but she cut in before I could.
“We are women who have slaughtered, who believed we were right in our own evil, who grew fortable in it and became the most atrocious existence walking for millennia. And you want to feel loved, by bloodthirsty murderers like us. I must do all but mend your taste. Cade.”
I gave her one shameless grin.
“What do I say? I guess I have a uniquely awesome taste.”
“More like uniquely questionable.” She closed her eyes and sighed. “The main problem with wanting to be loved by us is that it will leave you scarred. We are people from different eras, with different experiences. I lived only forty years, but I have had to live through what should have taken a hundred, no less, and it has defined my reality. And my reality is my perception.”
She paused, looked at me, and said in an anticlimactic tone.
“Our love will shred you to pieces. What we each define as love may be disturbing, if not catastrophic, I believe.”
I smiled somberly.
“I think I am the most reasonable person to receive that kind of love. I am already in pieces, and I will take those pieces and make them whole for each of you if I have to. Don’t underestimate me, Kassie.”
‘Who else is capable of loving insane women like you lot, if not an even more insane degenerate like me.’
‘Wait, is calling myself a degenerate a great idea?’
Kassie was silent. Maggie too.
Me too.
And a few more dozen seconds passed after that. Then Maggie stared down, and her voice crawled out.
“First, I have a simple question to ask, in order to understand this better.”
I turned to her and paid attention.
Her next words, though, pletely threw me off.
Maggie looked me straight in the eye, that cold, dark gaze of hers fixed on me, and asked:
“What is a threesome? And what does it have to do with me, and this whore?” She pointed to herself, then to Kassie.
I paused. Blinked. My mouth fell slightly open while I kept staring at her in absolute disbelief.
“Miscreant, what has you so speechless? Are you dumb?”
I shook my head slightly and looked at her again.
‘I really can’t believe it.’
No, for real, I really couldn’t.
‘She has no idea what a threesome means…?’
I blinked a few seconds more, then hesitantly asked:
“Do you, by chance, know what the term masturbation means?”
Maggie raised her chin and spoke in a haughty tone.
“Of course, miscreant. Why wouldn’t I know the meaning of something like that? Self-gratification without producing anything useful. It is a term used to qualify a Grand Inquisitor who has fallen short of their values, or at least their intense values.”
‘Wow…’
I didn’t know whether to be happy or sad. She looked so happy, though. It was a strange thing to describe. Maggie, naturally, didn’t look happy, and even when she smiled she looked more nefarious than pleased. Anything but happy.
But there were these edges of delight at the corners of her eyes, which at least gave the impression she was happy with herself right now.
Until Kassie broke the illusion for her.
“I see you’re the real dumb one here, as expected of a witch from a deserted continent.”
Maggie frowned and sprang up, glaring at Kassie. Since Kassie was taller anyway, she had to crane her neck a little.
While Kassie stared down at her like a child.
“What, witch?”
“What did you say about me, you whore?”
“You have a brain the size of a pebble. It’s no wonder you lack distinctive cognitive abilities. But you’re ingenious nevertheless, not many are given brains the size of pebbles, so feel lucky about it.”
Maggie opened her hand, and flames ignited around her fingers in a small circle.
“Speak again, whore, and I’ll make sure your throat hurts.”
I sat there in the dark, watching them, listening to them, and it was then that what I had said finally clicked within me.
‘Forget a threesome. I can’t even put these two in the same room?’
Making Maggie undress next to Kassie, both of them doing the same thing, with all the adversity between them, was near impossible.
It was very unrealistic.
‘Maybe I should just give up on it?’
I almost settled into that thought, until I shook my head on the inside.
‘No, I’m not going to do that… I am going to acplish this, and it will be a hallmark of everything I intend to acplish.’
I sighed.
This was something I needed to prove to myself. If I couldn’t make both Kassie and Maggie undress in the same space and please me, without bickering at each other, then what business did I have controlling and manding three more villainesses?
My focus returned to the space around me.
“You want to go? I’ll cut off your head and make it easy for you.”
“Try it, you whore. These flames were designed for shameless miscreants like you.”
“Enough.”
As simple as it sounded, the word carried a little emanation of the Emperor’s Dominance. The air pressed down oppressively from where I sat, and they both quieted down.
Maggie let out a slightly irritated hiss, while Kassie looked at me.
“Don’t waste such a magnificent presence over a little skirmish like this.”
Then she turned to Maggie, then back to me.
“It will be a hard road, but I think it will be an enjoyable ride. I find you very annoying, but I have never seen anyone more annoying than you. That’s a good praise. Receive it.”
I gave her a disturbed look.
“Yeah, yeah, sure.”
Maggie looked at me and lowered her head slightly.
“It turned out you were right about a lot of things. I am willing to be more cooperative than before.”
I looked between the two of them and allowed myself a soft smile.
‘Now, this is a fine beginning.’
