Friday was the last day of classes before sumr vacation.
Students clearly weren’t in the mood for lessons that day, and even the teachers just assigned them self-study.
The day quickly passed, and the students cheered as they packed up all the books on their desks and started heading ho.
Qingran and Ruan Ruan walked ho together, and since there was no evening self-study arranged, the sun was still up when they left.
"Qingran! Ruan Ruan!"
A familiar voice faintly called from behind.
The two turned their heads in unison, and not far behind them, Fang Jin was running and calling their nas, gasping for breath in the heat of sumr.
Qingran and Ruan Ruan exchanged glances, puzzled why Fang Jin, who wasn’t on their way, was coming towards them.
Still, they both stopped to wait for Fang Jin, who was not running fast, possibly because her backpack was too heavy.
It took her about five or six minutes to cover the short distance.
When Fang Jin finally reached them, Ruan Ruan leaned forward to look behind Fang Jin and teased with a smile, "Where’s your little boyfriend?"
Fang Jin took several deep breaths to steady her breathing, then smiled sheepishly: "What’s it to him if just girls are walking together?"
Qingran was also confused, and pointing in the direction they were headed, she asked: "Are you coming with us?"
Now it was Fang Jin’s turn to be puzzled: "Aren’t we going to check out the tutoring place today?"
Going to see the tutoring place with backpacks full of books wouldn’t be practical, right? Wouldn’t they be dead tired by the ti they got there?
However, Fang Jin and Ruan Ruan didn’t mind, and Qingran, who hardly carried any books, minded even less.
Fang Jin looked at Qingran’s lightweight backpack and was a bit perplexed: "Qingran, it’s sumr vacation, haven’t you taken your books ho?"
Ruan Ruan interjected jokingly: "Ranran is so forward-thinking. Since the beginning of this week, she’s been taking a few books ho every day that she doesn’t need to study, almost done with them."
Fang Jin suddenly realized: "Ah... why didn’t I think of that?"
Ruan Ruan continued joking: "Our top student’s brain isn’t just for show!"
The girls walked and laughed together.
After Mrs. Fang helped them register, they hadn’t yet explored the exact location of the tutoring place; they only knew the address.
The tutoring sessions were scheduled for Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday—three days a week.
The three girls walked ahead together, chatting as they went.
But mostly it was Ruan Ruan talking, with Qingran and Fang Jin just listening.
After Xu Liang said he would join Fang Jin for the tutoring, and last night after school when Qingran got ho, her brother also arranged for her to attend the tutoring sessions.
At that ti, Li Qingmo was standing on two steps above her, looking down at Qingran who was eating a late-night al, and she looked totally confused as the noodles she was about to eat seed tasteless.
Xie Ying’an had moved back to his own ho last weekend, so now at ho, it was just her, Aunt Liu, and her siblings. Mr. Li hadn’t co ho yet at this ti, sothing they were used to.
Li Qingmo didn’t speak, just watched Qingran as if she had done sothing to let him down.
Unable to bear his reproachful gaze, Qingran asked, "Bro, what are you trying to say?"
Unexpectedly, Li Qingmo spread his hands and suddenly played dumb: "What do I want to say? What can I say? Even if I want to say sothing, no one listens, what’s the point in speaking out?"
Qingran: "..."
Damn! What’s gotten into her brother all of a sudden?
Why is he following the narrative path of a Mary Sue protagonist?
Seeing Qingran burying her head in her al and ignoring him, Li Qingmo nagged annoyingly, "Boring, sigh—really boring, sigh—"
The noodles he was eating halfway had lost all their appeal. Qingran put down her chopsticks, sowhat helpless, "Bro, what exactly do you want?"
"Heh!" Li Qingmo folded his arms across his chest and sneered coldly: "Think about it, what are you going to do during the sumr vacation?"
What am I going to do during the sumr vacation?
The first thing Qingran thought of was attending supplentary classes. She pushed the bowl in front of her away, her expression growing slightly indifferent. "Did Xie Ying’an tell you?"
This left Li Qingmo puzzled, raising his voice slightly, "Xie Ying’an is going for tutoring too?!"
Damn, isn’t there any room left for others?
Li Qingmo knew about Qingran attending tutoring, not from Xie Ying’an but from Ma Qingsheng.
Li Qingmo knew with the idea that Ma Qingsheng, being gossipy, loved prying into these affairs. After finding out, his mouth wasn’t tight enough, and he liked to babble everywhere.
Knowing it wasn’t Xie Ying’an who told, Qingran looked a bit relieved.
"Fine," she pulled the bowl of noodles back in front of her and continued eating, "I’ll just let Fang Jin know. If you want to go, then go."
It’s just an extra registration fee. If her brother wanted to study, her dad would certainly be glad to pay.
Just like that, Li Qingmo also joined their tutoring group.
While walking, Qingran ntioned to Fang Jin that Li Qingmo was also going to attend tutoring.
Fang Jin didn’t mind these things at all and smiled with her eyes curved, "After all, the tutoring class isn’t owned by my family. I heard..."
As she said this, walking in the middle, Fang Jin subdued the smile on her face and lowered her voice, "The tutoring teacher started this class to pay for her child’s dical treatnts, and she’s really short on money now. She probably wouldn’t mind a few more students."
During their conversation, they arrived at the tutoring place.
Their tutoring was held at an educational institution, where even amidst financial difficulties, the teacher ensured the class remained official.
When Qingran and her friends arrived, there were several others there registering, and their figures completely blocked the view of the teacher seated inside.
Ruan Ruan stretched her head several tis but couldn’t see clearly what the teacher looked like.
"Having found the place, let’s head back," Fang Jin said without intending to enter.
"Okay," agreed Qingran.
So they turned to leave without even going inside.
Just as they reached the door, they heard a familiar yet sowhat strange voice behind them — "Li... Qingran, correct?"
It was a young man’s voice.
They all paused their steps and turned around to look.
Coming out of the tutoring institution, Bai Wenxing stood five steps away from them. He called Qingran’s na and was actually not very certain that she was Qingran, which could be seen from his sowhat nervous expression.
Only when Qingran turned to look did he break into a sowhat shy smile on his clean face: "It really is you, Li Qingran."
Ruan Ruan stared at Bai Wenxing for a long while, concluding he was white, milky, and cute, lacking a bit of manliness, not her type. She discreetly shifted her gaze away from his face.
Qingran, who had face blindness, stood there pondering for a long while unable to recall who this young man was in front of her.
Unable to rember him made her sowhat embarrassed, and Qingran forced a smile, "Yes, it’s been a long ti."
It’s been a long ti?
Bai Wenxing paused for a mont, the needs assessnt from her side had only been two weeks ago and in Li Qingran’s terms, this was considered a long ti?
Scratching his head with a smile, unsure of how to respond, he pointed towards the tutoring venue behind him and asked Qingran: "Are you also here to register for the classes?"
