Qingran isn’t at all scared of the Ghost House. With the flickering lights inside, she’s even thinking about which circuits must be connected to cause this phenonon.

She’s not afraid, and Xie Ying’an, the calm one, is even less scared.

A ’woo woo’ sound, like crying mixed with the wind, catches Qingran’s attention and she listens intently.

Xie Ying’an doesn’t understand, just observes her actions.

"Listen," Qingran signals him to listen to the wind, "Didn’t our physics teacher explain the principle behind this sound last ti?"

Xie Ying’an: "..."

Stunned for a mont, Xie Ying’an quickly recovers: "Yes, we did learn about it, it’s just..."

A white shadow whizzes past them, followed by a familiar male scream from outside.

Xie Ying’an’s previous words are interrupted, and upon hearing the sound, Qingran’s eyes light up with amusent: "That’s your brother’s voice."

Typical!

Qingran gets a bit worried and parts the white shadow before her to look in another direction, suggesting to Xie Ying’an, "We should go check it out; Teacher Sun alone probably can’t drag my brother away."

Especially since he’s the school bully, his image won’t hold up if he’s seen terrified by sothing nonexistent in front of a teacher.

They’ve been quietly staying out of it for less than five minutes, and Xie Ying’an really doesn’t want to go.

But Qingran heads towards the source of the sound anyway, and he reluctantly follows.

Qingran was right; Teacher Sun is helplessly leaning against the wall. Li Qingmo, who a second ago was behaving defiantly as if he feared no one, was screaming and hugging her legs tightly after a white shadow passed by.

Now, not only can he not leave, but she can’t move either because he’s holding onto her legs.

"Li Qingmo!" Teacher Sun tries desperately to free her legs, "Hurry up and let go of , weren’t you not scared?"

Li Qingmo buries his head in her thighs, tightly shuts his eyes, remains silent and refuses to let go.

Teacher Sun is both irritated and amused. She squats down to try and reason with Li Qingmo: "Those shadows are fake! The staff is just shaking clothes around. Don’t believe ? Why don’t you look up?"

Li Qingmo doesn’t care about face anymore, he’s determined not to open his eyes.

Teacher Sun sighs exasperatedly, having squatted for too long her legs are numb; she simply sits down on the ground.

Li Qingmo is still acting cowardly, a side Teacher Sun has never seen before.

In school, Li Qingmo is arrogant, willful, unrestrained, possessing a young man’s pride and is well-known in High School F as a thorny figure.

Teacher Sun faced managing such a student in her first year as a class advisor; too young for the role which many teachers did not approve of, adding such a troublemaker to her class made her feel utterly unlucky.

Unexpectedly, this troublemaker managed to redeem himself academically, impressing the other teachers; after all, the advisors champion performance.

After the midterm exam in the first sester of grade 10, she slowly ca to accept the reality of having a troublemaker in class, even defending him many tis afterward.

After a while, Teacher Sun gently rubs Li Qingmo’s head and softly negotiates with him: "If you don’t move, how are we going to get out?"

Li Qingmo pauses, and after a while, a muffled small voice says: "Are, are you not scared?"

Teacher Sun, caught off guard, looks around at the fluctuating lights and counters: "These scenes can all be explained with the knowledge we learn in school, what is there to be scared of?"

Li Qingmo stays silent, burying his head even lower.

Teacher Sun teases him with a laugh: "Hey! You’re usually fearless, and yet you’re scared of these fictitious things."

Li Qingmo remains silent, his exposed ears turning so red they nearly bleed.

Teacher Sun finally seized the chance for revenge, of course, she wanted to make the most of it.

She shifted her leg, and Li Qingmo imdiately held onto her tightly.

Teacher Sun scoffed, "Don’t you dislike the strong scent on ? If you don’t like it, you can let go. Why are you holding so tightly?"

Li Qingmo: "..."

Teacher Sun urged him, "Hurry up and let go. What if the scent on overwhelms you later?"

Li Qingmo finally experienced the bitterness of shooting himself in the foot. He thought Sun Ningzhi had never been to the Ghost House before, and expected her to be scared by the sight inside, just like he was on his first visit.

At that point, he would have a reason to mock her severely, and then they wouldn’t have to go in. He would lead a frightened her out.

This way, he could boldly tell others that it was Sun Ningzhi who was too scared to go in, and as a man, it was only right for him to accompany a girl who was scared.

Then, his own fear of ghosts wouldn’t be discovered by anyone. Who knew that damn Sun Ningzhi would not play by the rules; not only was she not scared upon entering the Ghost House, but she even started to excitedly investigate whether the blood on the walls was real or not?

"Not strong, not strong!" Li Qingmo apologized with an unprecedented attitude, "I’m sorry Teacher Sun, it’s failing to recognize the true fragrance..."

Wuu! He could already imagine that from today on, in front of Sun Ningzhi, he would no longer be able to maintain his school bully persona.

Xie Ying’an, pulling Qingran along, watched them from a hidden spot.

After watching for a while, Qingran frowned and quietly said to Xie Ying’an, "Is it alright for my brother to be holding onto Teacher Sun’s leg like that?"

After all, Teacher Sun is an unmarried woman, though there isn’t the traditional thinking of ancient tis. But still, Teacher Sun is wearing a long skirt today!

Even Qingran suspected if her brother was really trying to take advantage of Teacher Sun.

Xie Ying’an didn’t think there was anything wrong; he didn’t even realize that Teacher Sun was wearing a skirt.

"Let’s not bother about them." Xie Ying’an took Qingran’s hand and walked in another direction, saying as they walked, "Teacher Sun will find a way to get your brother out."

"But..." Qingran wanted to say that Teacher Sun couldn’t possibly drag her brother out, she turned her head and was startled by the bloody-faced person who ran up in front of them, tightening her grip on Xie Ying’an’s hand.

A chilling breeze blew out from deliberately left vents, making the hairs on the back of Qingran’s neck stand up from the cold.

The atmosphere was quietly terrifying, yet it seed not so scary.

The bloody-faced person was moving closer step by step, the iron chains on his feet clanking, trying hard to add to the horror atmosphere.

Xie Ying’an looked coolly at the person pretending to be a ghost, his eyes devoid of emotion.

Then, the image of Li Qingmo clinging tightly to Teacher Sun’s legs suddenly flashed through his mind.

A light flashed in the young man’s eyes as he stood behind Qingran, leaning close and whispering in her ear, "Scared?"

The warm breath on her ear, the scent of mint on the young man overpowering the rotten sll coming from the vent, made Qingran take a deep breath. Her muddled mind seed much clearer instantly.

Looking again at the approaching ghost didn’t seem scary at all.

Qingran shook her head, "Not scared."

Xie Ying’an seed to have anticipated her answer, he buried his head in Qingran’s neck, the light grassy fragrance becoming more intense, blending with her hair scent. The young girl’s warm skin felt exceptionally smooth.

The young man’s voice, trying hard to suppress a laugh, ca muffled: "I’m a little scared..."

As he spoke, the young man’s lips brushed against Qingran’s neck skin, ticklish and thrilling, causing Qingran’s whole body to shiver uncontrollably.

Qingran: "..."

Scared?

Xie Ying’an, cut the crap!
