While everyone except the passed-out Orca was busy clearing the cluttered table, Magia moved swiftly to clean up the cara and broadcasting equipnt.

Unplug, coil, fold—click, click, click.

Despite her petite fra, her hands moved with practiced speed, and before the table was even fully cleared, the equipnt box from the office was already neatly packed and placed by the door.

The gear was pretty heavy when all combined, but she could carry it effortlessly thanks to her new self-driving case—one that could follow its owner steadily even up a slope.

Back during the first-anniversary trip, she had to lug around a giant bag, which had been such a pain that she used her next paycheck to upgrade her hauling solution.

With energy to spare, Magia made her way to the sink, poking around to see if there was anything else she could help with.

Of course, Do-hee and Eona had already taken over the sink zone, so she was rewarded with nothing but a splash of water to the face from the tap.

“Yikes.”

Startled, Do-hee looked over.

“What are you doing back there? Go check on Orca.”

“I just thought I’d see if you needed a hand.”

“ and Eona got this. Help Miho out instead. If Orca needs to go to the bathroom or sothing, Miho’s not strong enough to manage alone.”

Eona winked to assure her it was fine, and Magia finally turned and toddled off toward the living room where Orca lay passed out on the sofa.

Clatter clatter.

Swishhh.

Standing side by side at the large sink, Do-hee and Eona had slipped into an effortless rhythm.

Do-hee handled the initial rinse and food waste, while Eona loaded the dishwasher and scrubbed pots and pans by hand.

The teamwork was so smooth it looked like they’d been working together for years.

Impressed, Do-hee asked, “Eona, have you always been this good at adjusting to others? You really surprised today. I an, sure, you’ve got experience, but I didn’t expect you to roleplay that naturally in a live broadcast.”

She’d run into Eona plenty while prepping for debut.

But unlike Magia, who felt more like a peer due to her casual vibe, Do-hee’s presence as the CEO still carried a certain weight.

Miho or Orca probably would’ve clamd up in her place.

But Eona, perhaps due to her upbringing with a high-profile father, continued the conversation with ease.

“That’s sothing my dad drilled into constantly as a kid. He’d always say, ‘People will cater to you whether you say anything or not, so if you don’t learn how to adapt to others, they’ll call you self-centered later.’”

“Yeah, makes sense. That kind of background isn’t exactly easy to hide, either.”

“Exactly. I tried hiding it because it kept ruining good relationships... but sohow, people always figured it out anyway.”

Eona gave a small, amused smile.

“But even so, hiding it helped in so ways. At least I could filter out the people who just wanted to use for my dad’s connections.”

“Lem guess... aspiring idols bugged you nonstop?”

“Constantly. It was exhausting. Like I was so kind of debut fairy godmother. They acted like getting through ant they were guaranteed a launch. If that were true, my dad would've been arrested by now.”

“Pfft. You’ve got a point.”

Their conversation, easy and natural, soon shifted focus.

“—Which is why I liked Gia,” Eona continued. “She only saw as a VTuber. She treats everyone the sa. She's just... transparent.”

“Right? I’ve never t anyone more resistant to red pills than her.”

“Though I think that’s mostly because you ran her over like a truck during your first eting.”

“...Wait, you know about that?”

“Well, I’m joining the company, so of course I did my howork. I’m here because I like Parallel—not just because of Gia.”

“Huh. And here I thought that whole proposal-thed dish ant your feelings had just spilled out.”

“I-I do like her! But... it was also a calculated move. Think of it as strategic build-up toward my own goals.”

“Oh yeah? What kind of goals? Tell . If I can help, I will. I an, asking to debut as second-gen wasn’t a small thing, but you said yes without hesitation.”

Eona turned her gaze toward Magia, who was now gently massaging Orca’s shoulders.

“My goal is to °• N 𝑜 v 𝑒 l i g h t •° do more collabs with Gia. I want us to stream from each other’s houses, do couple talks, build the ship, keep pushing it....”

“Mhm.”

“But my dad’s really strict. He won’t even let stay overnight at a friend’s house.”

“Yikes... What did you do back in Lapits?”

“Sa thing, really. I could hang out, but I always had to be ho before it got too late.”

“So you were the obedient daughter, huh? If it were , I would’ve slamd the door and said I wasn’t coming ho.”

“I thought about it. But I kinda get it. I’m his only daughter...”

She looked gently at Do-hee, as if expecting sothing more.

“But thanks to the roleplay we did today, I think I found a way.”

“Oh?”

“You flirted with , rember? So now I can say I need to do more streams with the boss, too.”

Do-hee, quick on the uptake, imdiately understood the request.

“So not a sleepover at a friend’s house, but a work trip ordered by the CEO?”

“Exactly! I knew you’d get it.”

“I’ve done the sa with Maru. Her family’s super overprotective too. So I can handle being your alibi. But what about streams with Gia?”

“I was planning to lie and say I’m streaming from the office. Like I stopped by for work and decided to sleep there.”

“Hmmm~ classic. So if your dad calls, you want to say you’re at the office?”

“Yes. Do you think... that’s okay?”

Do-hee was usually fine with smoothing things over for her strears’ parents.

But Na Hyun-gon wasn’t just anyone—he was the Chief A&R Producer of CAT Entertainnt. Not exactly soone you wanted to lie to lightly.

Luckily, Eona had one thing going for her:

Magia was about to move into Do-hee’s house—the sa place the stream had taken place tonight.

“Looks like you got lucky. Gia’s moving in with soon.”

“Huh? Here?”

“She was looking for a place near the office, and this place is close, in a good location, and has an extra room. I offered it, and she said sure.”

“Wait, that ans...”

“Yup. When you stream with her, just say you ca over to talk to about work. Of course, that ans I’ll have to keep an extra eye on your safety...”

“D-don’t worry! I never go out at night! I wouldn’t want to cause trouble for you either! When’s she moving in? Will it be before our debut?”

“That’s up to Gia. I’m not sure yet...”

“I’ll convince her. I’ll work hard to make her move faster.”

This translation is the intellectual property of Novelight.

And just like that, Do-hee had unintentionally gained an ally in pushing Magia to move.

Feeling a bit giddy, she shared so internal company plans with Eona—details that might help her down the line.

“We’re planning to remodel the 9th floor soon. Make it a place where people can stream and also crash overnight. Stock it with snacks and ready-to-eat als for late-night hunger too.”

The reason was simple.

Do-hee herself had realized that even the 10-minute commute between ho and work was a waste when juggling streaming and company duties.

Her vision was sothing like a strear dorm-factory hybrid:

Go live, crash on the built-in bed, wake up, wash up, change, and start the next workday—all from one floor.

And of course, the facility wasn’t just for her.

With CAT collaboration ramping up, first-gen mbers were now burning out on stacked streams and packed schedules. Even getting eight hours of sleep felt like a luxury.

If the 9th floor had proper rest areas, mbers could handle both recording and company visits in one trip—and maybe even keep the fans happy with surprise streams.

It would also be a huge help for Magia, who practically lived on that floor already.

She needed proper sleep, but during those hell-grind days in the trolling community, she acted like a creature that didn’t even require rest.

Do-hee’s secret hope? That locking Magia on the 9th floor after a stream would force her to finally sleep.

Either way, once the new facilities were done, Eona would have a rock-solid excuse to stay overnight.

And if she kept doing it under the guise of “work,” maybe one day... she’d finally earn the freedom to live on her own.

But even with that hopeful future, one nagging concern remained—sothing she couldn’t help but ask.

“Then... what about the current motion studio? It might be small, but it seed like the first-gen seniors use it pretty often for their 3D content...”

“There’s a slightly larger building right next door. One of the floors will be vacant soon, so we’re thinking of renting or buying it to build a much larger dedicated studio. The second-gens will be getting their 3D modeling done next year, right? If we don’t have a proper studio by then, the content possibilities are going to be too limited.”

“Oh... that makes sense. Bachubachu schedules at least one group show a week that uses a motion studio.”

“We’ve got to keep trying new things. We’re nowhere near the scale or polish of Bachubachu right now, but I want a space that can handle up to the third generation at least. That way, if we want to host sothing like a virtual group concert, we can go ahead without constraints.”

“I get it. It’s not like there are a lot of motion studios in Korea to begin with... and even renting one must be a pain. But wait—so there is a third-gen plan?”

“Of course there is. I didn’t start this business on a whim. My goal’s always been to surpass Bachubachu.”

Eona let out a quiet giggle at that.

“Hearing that from both you and Gia sohow makes it feel more convincing.”

“Oh, please. So does that take care of everything?”

“Yes. Thanks for being so considerate, Boss.”

“Don’t ntion it.”

“No, really. Since I’ll basically be freeloading at your place every ti I collab with Gia, it must be inconvenient—letting in a company VTuber like that...”

“Ah.”

Do-hee waved a hand dismissively with a laugh.

“Don’t worry about it. Rain and Maru used to treat my place like a hotel.”

“Haha...”

“They started coming solo, but eventually they all showed up as a group and turned it into a full-on pension getaway. The neighbors even filed a noise complaint. Second ti they ca, I locked them in the soundproof booth.”

At that, Eona tilted her head curiously.

“So... Gia didn’t really visit your place much?”

“She’s the type who won’t leave her house unless it’s for work. Even after she moves into mine, I bet she’ll be the sa. She barely goes out since her favorite hobby is watching streams.”

“Hm. So she might not feel comfortable visiting my place, huh...”

“Why? Did she leave early when you installed the gear?”

“She said she was busy.”

“She probably really was busy. She used to be super prickly until last year, but lately she’s been opening up a bit. She’s been visiting people more often too. Didn’t she even stop by Bazubi’s place?”

“Oh... right.”

“And don’t feel bad about asking her over. If you do, she’ll hesitate when it’s actually urgent.”

“I just... feel bad calling her when she’s already got so much on her plate...”

“If Gia finds out you didn’t call her because of that, she’ll feel guilty. She’s soone who believes she should never stand above the VTubers.”

“Hmm...”

“I know you see her as a senior or peer, but as long as you’re not treating her like a servant, say whatever you need. She’s the kind of person who genuinely feels joy when she can help other VTubers. I wouldn’t say I fully understand her yet, but at least when it cos to Parallel mbers, that much is certain. She was in contact with the first-gens almost daily for the first two months after their debut.”

“I’ll keep that in mind.”

“Also, she really likes people who can take care of themselves—like you.”

“Oh, really?”

“Yeah. It ans less for her to worry about. Just the fact that you can handle equipnt probably earned you a few points. But if there’s ever anything you can’t manage on your own, reach out. If you don’t want to bother Gia, contact instead.”

“Okay!”

Speak of the devil.

Magia popped up between them just then, mid-conversation.

Both Do-hee and Eona had been so focused on each other’s faces that they noticed her a second too late.

Do-hee blinked. “What’s up?”

Magia tugged on her sleeve and pointed toward the living room.

There, Orca was being half-dragged by Miho while trailing so kind of liquid across the floor.

“Code red. We thought we could handle it, but nope. She’s at volcano-level pressure. Barely holding it in.”

Do-hee and Eona yanked off their dish gloves in a panic.

“Are you serious?! Why didn’t you say so earlier! You made it sound like nothing!” “Eeep... what do we do?!”

[So this is my kink, huh?]

I used to think the first-gens’ fluffiness was cute and all,

but maybe, deep down, what I really missed was a good ol’ love triangle full of spicy jealousy and drama.

Thanks, Signal Flare.

You awakened sothing in .

And thank god you’re not a dude.

If you were, I’d have shown up with a bouquet and a broken horn... in a much darker mood.

[Hey thread OP, be grateful to Magia]

It’s not “if she were a guy, we’d riot”—

it’s “even as a girl, she’s still an hom fatale, so let’s thank her.”

If not for her, Eona would still be the quiet saint next door.

And we’d never get the wild drama we saw today.
